Now rumors are flying that Maddux may be coming to the Bronx.

Heard that, too.

Unless Steinbrenner just overwhelms Maddux with loads of money, I think it's just Boras (Maddux's agent) trying to start a bidding war.

I guess Boras knows what he's doing... the Cubs upped the offer so now it's pretty much a lock Maddux will be going back to Chi-town.

Well, the Twins didn't get A-Rod, but at least we signed Dougie-Baseball to another couple years at First Base for us...

Hmmm...

My brain always seems to think a step ahead.

OK, so the first case assortment is out and it is scheduled to contain:
OTC-01 Luke Skywalker (The Empire Strikes Back)
OTC-02 Yoda (The Empire Strikes Back)
OTC-03 Obi-Wan Kenobi (The Empire Strikes Back)
OTC-04 R2-D2 (The Empire Strikes Back)
OTC-05 Luke Skywalker (A New Hope)
OTC-06 Luke Skywalker (Return of the Jedi)
OTC-07 Han Solo (A New Hope)
OTC-08 Chewbacca (The Empire Strikes Back)
OTC-10 Darth Vader (Return of the Jedi)

That leaves 12 figures to be released:
OTC-09 Princess Leia (A New Hope)
OTC-11 Biker Scout (Return of the Jedi)
OTC-12 R2-D2 (A New Hope)
OTC-13 C-3PO (A New Hope)
OTC-14 Boba Fett (Return of the Jedi)
OTC-15 Obi-Wan Kenobi (A New Hope)
OTC-16 Stormtrooper (A New Hope)
OTC-17 Wicket (Return of the Jedi)
OTC-18 Princess Leia (The Empire Strikes Back)
OTC-19 Cloud Car Pilot (The Empire Strikes Back)
OTC-20 Lobot (The Empire Strikes Back)
OTC-21 TIE Fighter Pilot (A New Hope)

Hmmm.... 12 Figures left to be released, that's the same as the usual number of figures in a case.

I wonder then if this will be the mix for the next case (the last 12 at 1 per case) OR if there will be two more cases to come: a Bespin wave case and a pure re-card case???

Hmmm....

Like Matt said, I could see these maybe being released as two seperate figures too.

I concur.

It'd be strange to see arms and head as "accessories".  I too bet they are gonna go the double-release route with this guy...

I posted this in another forum, but it fits here too...

---------------

I think that the upcoming OTC re-release of some of the HoF figures will change the "most-carded" figure status...

Almost ALL of the red card figures made it to green cards, and then some of those even made it to FF cards, but most stopped there.  Now, we've got a few figures that have been carded FOUR times.

Keep in mind this is the EXACT same figure (re-hashes don't count).

The current all-time champs???

Cantina Han:
CommTech 1999
Saga 2003
HoF 2004
OTC 2004

New Likeness Leia:
FF 1998
Saga 2003
HoF 2004
OTC 2004

Any others?

CommTech Luke is close, but they added a lightsaber for the Saga, HoF, and OTC re-releases which makes the CT versions different enough for me not to count it.

Has any one sculpt made it to FIVE different cards yet?

Jeff

ps
I'm glad Maul isn't OT.  I'll be happy that at least he won't show up again for a while...

And annoyingly, yes, the cardbacks are entirely new for Han, Leia, and Maul that were just re-re-re-released. They all show the other Hall of Lame figures on the back. They also aren't numbered.

So... just a side question.  I think that the re-release of the HoF figures on OTC cards will change the "most-carded" figure status...

I am pretty sure that the consensus of the masses is that SAGA turns into OTC.

The last Saga wave should be the Endor Generals wave in Apr/May.  Then, after that wave ships, the Dagobah wave will be the first OTC wave in Jun/Jul.  This is how most e-tailers are stating it in their pre-orders.

OTC will run trough the end of the year I guess... no one is sure if it will continue into 2005 or not.  The vintage-OTC cards will ship sometime in the Fall, separate from the basic OTC figures...

Got these this weekend...

I like them!

Wol - strange choice, but definatelty adds flavor to the Diorama.

Bubo - Another strange choice, but cool none the less.  I like his little articulated jaw... I gave him an extra "chuba" from the Jabba Glob set to munch on.

B'Morr Monk - same figure as before, right down to the 97 date stamp but with some new coloration.  Not too bad.  Now I have one for the entrance to Jabba's Palace and one for the interior shots.

Pretty cool and worth the $10 imho.

Anyone think we can get Lucas to postpone Episode 3 for another year or two, so we can keep up with all this OT goodness and love?!?   8)

lol

I would never have asked for a delay in Episode 3 before today, but you're right.  With all these OT goodies in the pipeline it'll be a shame when the Ep3 figures muscle their way onto the shelves...

Hmmm...

I took the Dagobah Luke photo and flipped it upside down in photshop.

Maybe one of the JD dudes could post an image like that fora ll to comment on....

The hair definately looks wierd standing upright.  Also, I noticed that the picture, when turned upside down it gives Luke a "Hulk Smash!" look.  It's actually pretty funny...

I just about wet myself this morning!

Me too.

Very exciting time for OT fans.

I was happy to see that most of use were on the right track, that the OTC and the "vintage" issues are two separate lines!

The EE case report also helps solidify a UK news report (from theprivateunivers.com via Stan at rebelscum) about the X-Wing Luke, Cantina Han, Vader being shown on the back of the Falcon box.

Hi All,

I was just looking at the carded pictures of this wave at SirSteves...

http://sirstevesguide.com/news/uploads/29976/bossk_cbk.jpg

I noticed that on the back of Bossk's card, they've got a picture of J'Quille, but it says "Tanus Spijek"?

Think they'll fix the error?   If so, more goodies for you variant/error hunters to go for!  Been a while since I've seen a big error on a cardback...

Nataku

ps
04-17 = Dengar
04-18 = Bossk
04-16 = Ozzel
for those keeping track numerically...

Hasbro releases a tidbit to get us worked up prior to Toy Fair this weekend:

"STAR WARS ORIGINAL TRILOGY COLLECTION

Ever since the classic Star Wars trilogy burst onto the screen in 1977, a new generation of movie and toy fans has continued the tradition of celebrating the past, present and future of the Star Wars universe. In 2004, Hasbro builds on the tradition with the Original Trilogy Collection of authentically detailed figures, vehicles and lightsabers, this time celebrating Lucasfilm's fall release of the Star Wars Trilogy on DVD.

Hasbro's Original Trilogy Collection will recapture the magic of the first three Star Wars film releases from the late 70s and early 80s for a new generation of kids, bringing back the memorable black-and-silver retro package look and collectible new versions of the earliest Star Wars toys.

In addition to updated action figure versions of the most favorite characters from the first three films, Hasbro is bringing back one of the most legendary spaceships in the galaxy -- available for the first time since 1996 will be the Millennium Falcon. (Approx. $4.99-59.99; Available in fall)"
