Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Question for the Collectors with Kids
« on: February 22, 2007, 04:24 PM »
I know I'm already picking stuff up/packing stuff away for them when they are older - if they are interested.  I mean, they might not have the interest in Star Wars like I did, but I couldn't imagine having this many figures/ships/etc. to play with when I was a kid - it would have been fun :).

My dudes are only 7+ months old, so this is something I've been wondering too...

Like you're doing, I started picking up the GH figures and packing them away in the hopes that one day I'd have someone to play with them, so those figures will be handed over to L&L when Mom determines they are big enough to play with them (they'd have them now if I had my way  :P).

As for the basic figures/ships/playsets, I have no idea what to do... I don't think I'll let them have free reign of the SW room, but I can see myself doing something similar to Travis and "handing-down" some of the older sculpt PotF2 figures to the boys so they have their "own" figures for playtime.

Saga Collection '06 / Re: TSC Variations and Errors Thread
« on: February 22, 2007, 02:10 PM »
I picked up the variant light blue Holo Obi-Wan today...  :)

I was amazed at the color difference between the two.  I wish I would have known about this variant sooner as I already opened a dark blue one for my shelf.  The light blue one is such a better color match with the rest of the recent Holo figures.   :-\

Jocasta's Reading Room / Re: Luke Skywalker and the Shadows of Mindor
« on: February 22, 2007, 11:31 AM »
To be honest, I've never heard of the Battle of Mindor Endor Shmendor, or "Lord Shadowmort", it seems a tad forced to me.

You never heard of it?  It was only one of the greatest battles ever!

It was before they defeated Lord Puffington Pufferson and his Pufftroopers, but after they defeated Admiral Crunch and his Seatroopers.  You know, right around the time they stopped off at Living Island to visit HR Pufnstuff.

Get with the times, man!   ::)

Other Toy Lines / Re: Transformers

I don't understand the point in these.

I'd much rather give a little kid a plastic toy than the die cast versions... die-cast can do more damage when chucked across the room.   :P

I have a few Scouts and they have varying degrees of holster work-ability (if that's a word).

Two of the Scouts have shallow grooves but the gun still fits (just barely, like Jay's picture shows), while the other two Scouts have a much deeper groove and the gun fits in nicely (handle first).

I guess your milage may vary for the ankle holster due to the molding process... :-\

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: 'Lost' - Season Three
« on: February 22, 2007, 11:00 AM »
There is not enough button-pushing this season... :P

I think a lot of it is due to the lack of mystery - We know what happens if the button doesn't get pushed, we've seen who the others are and where they live, we got a good look at the monster, we know a lot more about each character, what's in the hatch, etc.

I think they are trying to manufacture a lot of new little mysteries, but they are not as gripping as the originals that sucked you into the show in the first place...

Most of the questions I still have about the show are all things that are left from the first season, things like:
 - what the hell was with Walt's powers?
 - what was up with the freaky numbers being everywhere?

Unfortunately, I don't think the Walt thing will ever get explained as they just wrote him and the dad (Michael) out of the show and we're left thinking there was nothing more to Walt than a cheap plot device... :-\

I'm not sure if it's just the angle of the pictures, but Logan actually looks older than Liam.  Or maybe it's just me.

It's the hair and the cheeks.  Logan has more (longer) hair and Liam has the chubbier cheeks.  A few others have said that same thing, that Logan looks older than Liam...

I guess they look the same age to me because I see them everyday.   ;)

They won't be worth anything unless you get them graded by the AFA Jeff.

Thanks for ruin[er]ing my dreams...  :'(

Oh well, on to the next morey making scheme.   :D

30th Anniversary Collection / Re: UGH 2007
« on: February 21, 2007, 05:08 PM »
I'm going to hoard all the 2007 UGH figures I can!!  I'm going to put them all in Star Cases and then put them into storage!!

Then, in 15 years I'll sell them off and use the HUGE sums of cash I'll get to put my kids through college!!

After all, take a look at the ridiculously high prices the 2006 UGHs are fetching on eBay!  Nearly $7 each with shipping!!   :o

Hey Hasbro! / Re: Lars Family Battle Pack
« on: February 21, 2007, 04:58 PM »
Maybe not a Battle Pack, but it would make a nice 7-Pack like the exclusive Bounty Hunters, Commandos, or DS Officer sets we've seen...

Lars Family Moisture Farm:
 - Cliegg Lars (AotC)
 - Owen Lars (AotC)
 - Beru Whitesun (AotC)
 - Anakin Skywalker (Evolutions Ep2)
 - Padme (Lars' Homestead version)
 - C-3PO (AotC repaint)
 - R2-D2 (RotS preview droid repaint)

3 new figures (Owen, Beru, Cliegg), 2 repacks (Anakin, Padme), and 2 repaints (3PO, R2).  A nice blend of brand new, kind of new, and old figures.

Most retail buyers would not.

Nor would most care... exccept maybe Target - they seem to really have a thing for RotS Clones.   :P

The Vintage Collection / Re: Target DPCI #s
« on: February 20, 2007, 05:14 PM »
Very good news!  What target did you try this at?  The Knollwood store always has higher prices on the basic figs - I'm curious to try the DPCIs there and see if they're the same...  :-\

The #s were tried at two different Targets in MN, Oakdale and North Saint Paul (I'm an East-sider  ;)),

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: BREAKING NEWS: Britney Spears not a virgin!!
« on: February 20, 2007, 04:24 PM »
So with the loss of Anna Nicole and the crazy hi-jinks of the weekend, is Britney now officially the new national train-wreck?

I bet her first move after rehab is to marry an 85yr old man and then relocate to the Bahamas...  :-X

Yeah, Mace was shown at Toy Fair:

And yeah, like Nick said, all the info I've heard says he will show up as StarWarsShop exclusive...
