I don't know if anyone here will be interested, but apparently, Deep Discount DVD is offering a couple of 20% off codes right now, and at least one of them is good until December 5th:

usatoday

and

dvdtalk

This deal, combined with their always-free shipping, is a great one if you're in need of some Christmas gifts for someone (or yourself).

For example, the Alien Quadrilogy goes from about $73 shipped to $58 shipped--not too bad.  (The only deal with that is that the coupons aren't good on pre-orders, so you'd have to wait until next Tuesday to order it.  Still a good deal.)

Visit this Home Theater Forum thread for more details:

I know I've hounded you several times to check out The Shins, but haven't heard you say a word about them so here I am again, hounding!

No, no sir.  You told me ONE TIME that I should check out some group, the name of which I couldn't even remember until you mentioned it again for the second time, just now.

"The Shins".  One day, I'll get around to checking them out.

The Who ~ Who's Next...Baba O'Riley specifically

This is a sickness.   :-\

As for me, I'm watching/listening to (I guess) this year's Farm Aid concert on PBS, or at least highlights from it.  Willie just finished, and now Neil's up there, doing "Hey Hey, My My".

God bless Neil.

Are you guys seeing the two packs with Episodes I & II in them down there?  I hadn't seen these prior to a couple of weeks ago.  A few bucks savings, but I haven't seen anything but wrong screen versions.

Yeah, Fox only put the fool-screen versions in the two-pack, as far as I know.  If there's a widescreen two-pack out there, I've never heard of it.

Another thought with the OOP news is that Fox might be releasing them as one-disc, movie-only versions in the near-future.  Fox has done that with quite a few DVDs over the past couple of years--coming out with the loaded two-disc special editions of a movie first, and then putting it OOP and releasing a basic one-disc version months or years later.

Too bad if that happens, really--the documentary on The Phantom Menace's second disc, "The Beginning", is probably more entertaining and interesting than either of the two proper prequel films themselves. . .

A quick search of Ebay nets the following results:

Single bottles of this swill going for ten, fifteen, and twenty dollars, and "cases" (which are two bottles) going for as much as sixty dollars in at least one case!

Ebay link

That's nuts.

But, you know, if this stuff has tryptophan in it, that would really be something. . .

Since we don't have Jones Soda here, tomorrow, I'm doing the next-best thing:

Crystal Gravy. . .  Now that's good-eatin'!

A local deli used to sell Jones Soda pops and I fell in love with them...I now dissavow that love ever happened...in fact I now hate Jones Soda :-X

You know, I've never seen Jones Soda here in OKC, but I was reading on another board that up in Seattle, they have a bubblegum-flavored soda which is quite good.

'Course, you don't hear about that.  You hear about the turkey and gravy-flavored soda, and the fish taco-flavored soda, and the ham-flavored soda. . .

Turkey & Gravy soda on the table for Thanksgiving

11/24/2003

SEATTLE (Reuters) - Thanksgiving dinner with all the fixings: cranberry sauce, stuffing and turkey gravy-flavored soda. Yummy?

In the latest food fad to emerge in the United States, Seattle specialty soda maker Jones Soda Co. scored a hit this week with the introduction of a limited batch of Turkey & Gravy-flavored soda.

The tan-colored soda sold out in just three hours after an initial batch was put up for sale on the company's Web site Friday, a spokeswoman for the company said.

Proceeds from the online sale, where two bottles of Turkey & Gravy soda sold for about $11, were donated to Toys for Tots, a children's charity. Local retailers will start selling the soda Monday.

Jones Soda said it would be up to local stores to set prices for Turkey & Gravy soda. Other sodas from the company typically cost $1 to $1.50.

This isn't the company's first experiment in exotic carbonation. Fish tacos and ham flavors have also been offered as promotional soda flavors.

Hey, Mainland05, screw all these haters.

Tell you what:  I'll meet you by the hotdog stand in Food Court B at 2:30, on Saturday, April 30, 2005.  I'll be there with a "Virex" name tag on, wearing my Stormtrooper helmet.

See you then.
