I don't think the sponsors should be selling these off... especially before the convention even starts.   How many "sets" have been sold so far?   That's X number of coins that won't be available to us fans that will be attending the collector panels.

I'm not too impressed either.  For sure I'm picking up my figures, a shotglass, probably the 30th Ann Vader shirt (I HATE the CIV logo) and possibly the backpack (since I'm in the market for a new one anyway and the crappy laptop bag I got from SW Shop is falling apart) and maybe the 4-in-1 pen.   The Bespin print is also high on my list of maybes at this point.   Most of my cash will be spent in the exhibitors room this time.   I was kinda hoping they'd do another blanket like they did for CIII but no dice.
Looks like my Quickpath on Thursday will be... well..  quick

Celebration IV: Los Angeles / Carrie Fisher signing... which figure?

4.5 days and counting until my plane leaves for LAX and I have yet to decide on a figure to bring down to get Carrie to sign.   Anyone have any thoughts?   I'm leaning towards the OTC Leia Bespin figure at this point but I'm so torn!  I suppose I could bring MULTIPLE figures but I'm already bringing my Decipher CCG Oversized Slave Leia card for signing and I'm not sure I want to go beyone $70 at this point.

So which Leia?  VOTC? POTF2 macho? POTJ Bespin Escape? One of the 2-packs? Flashback Madness?

Taking opinions until Tuesday!    ;D

This is the one wave I'll be getting a full case of- I wan't each figure (I'm not thrilled with the Luke but I'll take him).

I ended up picking up the Tin on sale mainly for the Art on the Tin- my favorite card from the Galaxies I set... and I thought the instruments were WAY better for my cantina scene than the brown originals.   I haven't opened up the figures though and I'm going to HAVE to get at least the bases (if not the whole shebang).

I FINALLY found a a pair of TAC Death Star Troopers and a Yavin Guard at Walmart.   However, the packaging on all 3 was piss poor.   Good thing I'm an opener.  The Guard was in the "best" shape with only a few bends/creases.   The first DST's card was bent on all 4 corners with the bubble totally squashed (the figure's fine though!).   The other DST looked like the great hand of fate picked it up and then crushed it in it's hand.   The bubble was open, the card was crushed like the trash compactor but surprisingly, the figure was intact and the coin still in place.   Since I hadn't seen either of these yet, I picked em up.   Walmart customer service wouldn't give me a discount though....

I haven't seen Anything other than Obi/R2/Mace from wave 1 except for a single Marine I found at a Target.

Its just like Hasblo... some pieces have stellar sculpts/paint jobs, some are quite lacking.   I've ordered the new set and am just hoping that that Han get's changed.... I realize it's supposed to be Han charging/running away from the stormtroopers on the Death Star while screaming at the top of his lungs but that piece is UGLY.

Well... Alea Jacta Est.....

Looks like I'm coming in around 9:30AM on the 23rd and leaving around 9PM on the 29th.   Puts me back in DC around 6AM then I head off to work where if things go well, I'll be able to just kick back all day fix issues remotely from my cubicle.

Matt and I changed our plans when some rooms opened up at the Holiday Inn so we're staying there after taking the $50 hit for canceling his reservation (but the savings and commute reduction is SOOOO worth it).

I'm looking forward to the trip and my cousin is currently living in and around LA so we'll be able to grab dinner at the very least.

Are there any JD gatherings planned yet?  I'd love to meet up with everyone.

Managed to finally get mine too... for some reason, the actual order page didn't appear until about 1:30 EST for me.   It's the only SSC exlusive I'll order.  I've got enough display issues right now without getting into other lines and as it was mentioned, May is going to be straining the budget as is.  (Not to mention APRIL with the Endor 3-some)
