Are they playing? I know there's a schedule. Whatever.
League ID: 4094
password: berry
I think league is set for 8 teams right now, everyone should get an email on it. More players are welcome if anyone new wants to join in. Just let me know and I'll set the limit higher.
-
Is there anything worse than fantasy basketball? The answer is fantasy hockey and golf.
But yeah, I'll play again just to see if I can draft Patrick Ewing Jr.. Ron 'Peace Around the World' and Allen Iverson.
Did fantasy basketball exist in the Jordan era? That would have been cool.
-
I played Fantasy Basketball in the early 90's...I had Barkley and Karl Malone on the same team and absolutely mopped up one year. I know for sure that I played Fantasy Football in the late 80's with my buddies. I remember having Herschel Walker as a Viking which would have been 1989.
-
Well now we know at least the first 2 weeks of the season are cancelled.
That means LeBron James has 2 less weeks to choke.
-
Yeah, um, I just changed the draft. Had it set for tomorrow night but bumped it back to November 30th now. Will advise if anything changes.
Only five signed up. Would like at least three more. Assuming they play this year.
-
Good to know.
-
I guess I'll play if there is a season. We'll have to see what happens.
-
I'm hearing reports that the lockout is done. Hopefully this will be official today and we'll get a 50 game season or something.
-
It seems that's the case from what I've read as well.
Our draft is scheduled for Wednesday, November 30th. I think I'll leave it there, so the draft is only five days away.
We could use some more teams as we're only at five right now. Eight is a nice minimum.

I think the season is set to start on Christmas Day December 25th. Why don't we make the draft a few days before that, so we can actually let the free agency signings happen, and some preseason games. We literally don't even know where some of the star 2nd and 3rd round players are landing yet. Drafting now would be pretty much blind.
-
Yeah if there are openings I'd be in favor of pushing it back. Not too far though, if you get to close to the holidays it'll start getting tough.
-
Because I'm in Hawaii from the 10th to the 23rd. Not doing a draft while I'm in Hawaii.
-
Nice, our first ever JD Christmas Eve draft!
-
Well I could do it on the 23rd? If you guys are willing to wait that long and that night is feasible as it's probably the start of the Christmas weekend for those with families coming in or traveling to visit.
Otherwise I'll just do an autodraft and live with the results. If so, propose a date please and I'll make the adjustment to the draft.
-
Yeah, I can't do it that close to Christmas. I've got this whole wedding thing on New Year's Eve that is eating up most of my free time and will really be eating up all of my free time by that point in the month.
What about as close to the departure date for your Hawaii trip as possible?
-

What?! You're tying the knot Rob?!
-
Yup, on New Year's Eve. :)
-
Congrats Rob.
I know this is weird, but I just have to ask. Is there any meat being served at the reception?
-
Congrats Rob.
Closest date would be December 9th, still leaving a lot of time for player moves, preseason injuries, etc. I'll autodraft, shouldn't be any worse than usual. ::)
-

Thanks!
As for meat, of course. We don't eat meat, but we're not pushy preachy vegetarians or anything like that. There's a fish boil the night before the wedding and then at the wedding dinner we've got beef and chicken options.
-
Rob I want to come. I give pretty good gifts.
As for this league, am I even signed up for it? I don't see it on my league list. Someone that can see the league needs to tell me.

No you, no defending champion. That would make seven. A league with ten would be fun.
-
Anyone wanna draft after they play a week of regular season games then?
-
I won't be around pretty much from Christmas through about January 3rd or 4th... :(

Small wedding (35-40 guests), no offense. :)
-
Appreciate the suggestion of waiting but go ahead and pick a date later in December for the draft. Maybe I'll plan on being at a Luau drinking free Mai Tais to drown my pain of not drafting.
I'd say Rob's wedding takes precedence over someone who's been married for 18 years and is on vacation in Hawaii. He don't need no additional stress.
-
I've signed up but would like to see the draft pushed back too...Free Agency, weird Chinese Basketball issues, injuries etc makes drafting now a little dicey. My 2 cents
-
Absolutely, somebody give me a date though for the draft.
I moved it so right now it is sitting at December 21 (Wednesday) 8:30 P.M. CST
-
Don't care when the draft is, I'll likely be autodrafting thanks to my very weird schedule
-
Well I don't want Brent to have to autodraft if he doesn't want to. Considering the season is totally messed up anyhow, maybe we should draft at the end of the first week of January after a few regular season games have been played Rob's back and married. Brent's back, tan and probably sober. Scott and I get to see who has landed on what team etc. Diddly can still autodraft.

Hey, sorry guys, I'm backing out of the league this season. I've just got too much stuff going on, and I know how much work it takes to keep up with you veterans. May be next season and good luck to all. Hopefully, someone will be able to fill up the 8th spot to round out the league.

Is this because of David Stern? Did he discipline you too?

Fortunately no, I would hate life if I had to work in a company he runs. He's all but a dictator in his relm of the NBA.
-
Dressel and I certainly set the record for shortest Fantasy Draft of all time last night...we were the only two there :P
-
Yeah, I'm neck deep in this wedding business and didn't remember until about 11:30 last night.
Oh well.
-
Well it afforded Scott and I an intimate moment to bond over some Timberwolves. I was doing espresso shots every 10 minutes to stay awake for it but I love my team.
I may want to peddle Westbrook or Rondo for a big man but I'll keep my team the way it is until February 1st-ish to see if I even need to.
-
I'm relatively happy with how mine turned out too. I probably wouldn't have drafted Bosh, but oh well. In a small league like this, everyone should have a pretty strong team.

Well my autodraft seemed to feel that small ball was the way to go ::) Certain aspects I like, but Chauncey Billups? I love the man as a player but don't see him doing much in LA. Hope I'm wrong. Would have liked a big man other than a center from Detroit. :-X
-
IIRC...Billups was fairly late in the draft...DR and I commented that is was still a little early
-
Congrats to Travis on the win. I was going to use the excuse about autodraft but that won't fly this time.
-
Congrats Travis!
My dreams of a quadruple crown are dead. :'(
