Since I'm going to be learning how these new categories work as the league progresses, I'm fine with leaving everything how it is now.

I did goof up the penalty minutes thing though - somehow I got it in my head that we'd be losing points for penalty minutes.  Maybe because the word penalty is part of penalty minute.

That threw me off last night after the draft too but I just assumed I'd missed something, not Brent.

Good to see it fixed.

Also, it's my own fault for not checking and paying enough attention to what you posted as far as scoring or knowing enough about hockey, but I thought Penalty minutes were bad.

Quote
G = 1pt
A = 1 pt
GWG = 1 pt (this makes a goal that wins the game worth two overall)
SHG = 1 pt (same here, 2 point goal essentially)
+/- = +1 for +; -1 for - duh.  (I can modify this to 0.5 points if folks want.)
W = 2 points
L = -1 point
SO = 4 points

What did I miss?

Looks like we're getting +1 for a loss right now, should be -1

And I don't see -1 for being -1 on the +/- thing, is that set how it should be?  If it's still up for discussion, I'd be cool with knocking it to -0.5 points for being -1

While goofing around on Yahoo waiting for the draft, I realized that your Yahoo Sports profile captures all your past Yahoo Fantasy Sports performances.   :o

2005 Hockey Champion
2001 Football Champion
2001 Baseball - 2nd Place
2001 Hockey - 2nd Place
2004 Baseball - 3rd Place

That's right - 5 trophies!  I had forgotten all those old 2001 leagues I played in with my buddies...

I've got a 1st place in football, a 1st place in Basketball and a 3rd place in Hockey.  I'm looking to grab a 3rd in Baseball this year and I'm on pace to get a freebie 3rd for Golf.

Not bad considering that I've only been in since 2004.

Oh, and I plan to come up with at least another bronze for this league too.   8)

I think the title of this thread should be more along the lines of

Re: No surprise- Crocodile Hunter croaks-- Entertainment's favorite animal harasser finally done in by one of his victims!

Yeah, that would be great ;D

If you're trying to evolve your own little 'I'm a lovable jerk" schtick like some of the members have made so famous over the years, someone should let you know that it's not working.

No. One. Is. Amused.

Sounds like you're completely deluded.

It sure is Dressel.

Thanks for saving me the trouble of explaining it.

Say you polished folk have plenty of stones to throw, didn't realize there were so many 'golden folk' in the world ::)

I must be golden folk too - because I think you're coming off like a complete ass.

The tin doesn't even fit in my shelf.  I'm thinking about swapping it for the individual sets at $14.99 each and getting the $16 back.

Ravens over the Bucs:

Wait is Cadillac Williams still a Buc?  Or did the Bucs just hand him the ball 8 times as a special guest?  The guy should be carrying the ball 30 times a game, end of story.  I'm gonna give the Bucs the benefit of the doubt here because they faced a tough Ravens defense who went ape**** on them, and the Bucs were good last year.  I didn't think Jamal Lewis would be such a big factor.  I thought he was busted.  I guess he's back.  Surprise.  I was kind of hoping Matt Stover would issue another public apology to the city of Baltimore, but it's a long season.  Also, Jamal Lewis is really a big strong man, holy crap, 5' 11" and 245 lbs with a jail block attitude:

I was as disappointed as anyone to see Cadillac not get the ball.  I'm guessing Gruden didn't think they'd be successful running against the Ravens and abandoned it for the most part - being down 14-0 real quick doesn't help either since you start passing to try to catch up.  He'll get it against the Falcons - probably 25 times unless the Bucs fall into a quick hole again.  I think the Bucs should also get the benefit of the doubt for week 1 and maybe another week because in the preseason they barely played their starters at all - they used almost the entire 4 games to evaluate players from rookies to free agents since there were so many guys they liked in camp and there were lots of tough calls as to who makes the team.

As for Jamal - I really really hope you're right.  That he did that against the Bucs defense was encouraging - he won't be on my bench this week, so hopefully he can do it again.

Saga Collection '06 / Re: '06 Holiday Figure
« on: September 13, 2006, 12:13 AM »
I never buy the holiday figure.  They could make it a Jabba and Gardulla as Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus 2 pack for $4.99 and I'd still leave it on the shelf.

Okay maybe I'd buy that one, but nothing short of that creativity and bargain.

Same here.

I did manage to get a Threepio/Artoo x-mas set for $1.00 per figure - so I have a loose one of them.  But that's it.  And I'd need to run into similar deals to get the Jawas or any of the rest.
