Watto's Junk Yard / Re: The Walking Dead
« on: November 27, 2019, 05:18 PM »

I was a bit surprised that it was Gabriel that killed Dante.

I got an Edgar Allen Poe vibe at the whole fire pit scene (regardless of Dante's body being in there or not). You have the murdering Gabriel watching the flames, reflecting on what he's done, who's then joined by Rosita. She rests her head on his shoulders, signaling her approval on a job well done. (ooh, bad pun.)

It's like watching Carol, part 2.

I didn't see Talking Dead after. Any mention about them?

On sale (?) for $69.99 and the single figures for $10.99.

Loved the pay-off but felt they dedicated too much time on the PTSD and bogged down the pace in the last few episodes.

Make sure you interact with the stormtroopers.

What's the extent of the interaction? I was at Universal Studios as a little kid when the old school Cylons roamed the park. My cousin and I approached one and he knocked our heads together, lightly, but still not cool.

I happened to wake up around 2:30a Pacific time and for the heck of it decided to check. Tooga, Tooga, Tooga!

Makes sense it's competing factions. I was Initially thinking it was like in ESB where Vader was the sole client bringing in multiple hunters.

I'm digging IG-11. Never imagined he'd be spinning his head and rotating his body 180 while firing. Loved the comic relief of going into self-destruct mode but also showing his actions are still very much guided by his programming. (Something about his manual.)

Previews showed a very bad-ass bounty hunter. Then we see him struggling with the blurg and basically play second fiddle to IG-11. A lot more compelling than a one-dimensional super human.

Interesting that he was told to bring back his bounty alive, but dead (with proof) was acceptable for a smaller reward. Yet IG-11 said he was told to terminate. I wonder if he was being tested. And why?

The figure looks great. We'll see how close it resembles screen character. I don't know how well the different parts interact since I haven't bought it yet. But I'm definitely ok with Hasbro doing more kit-bash if it (seemingly) turns out as good as this.

Who let Negan go? CAROL? DARYL? CHERYL? TERYL? MERYL? He was a ghost the whole time?

The preview showed who it was. A head-scratcher.  ???

Stoopid townspeople (or maybe it's the writing). A girl with a bloody mouth, (likely) bruised all over her body from the beating, a history with Moe, Larry, Shemp, and they don't believe her when she tells them Negan helped/saved her?

Why weren't more people trying to fend off the walkers after the trees came down?

And the wall is their only line of defense? No 4' deep ditch? Outward pointing spears? Swinging logs?  :P

Maybe they'll recapture the charm with their third show.  https://www.amc.com/shows/the-walking-dead/video-extras/the-walking-dead-universe-new-series-trailer

Solo: A Star Wars Story / Re: Retail Prices/Sales/Discounts

I wanted the Han in Guard disguise too but it’d be a bit of work because of the sculpted on hood piece to the helmet. :-\

Eww. After looking at the figure more, the work will be involved. Hmm, maybe some day.

On a positive note, I finally found a Quay Tolsite and the stormtrooper officer with pauldron at Ross.

There's more... <snip> and Kanan Jarus with that little weird ship for $6.99.

I like the concept of the mini-rigs. Can't remember if I bought this one already, but a definite buy at $6.99 if I come across it.

Isn't there also a C3PO/R2D2/BB8 3-pack? I thought IGN had pics in their unboxing coverage but I can't seem to find it now.

I might buy that one just for R2.

Other Toy Lines / Re: Funko 3.75" Action Figure Lines

I only heard about the new series a week ago. Discovering there are toys was a pleasant surprise.

I missed out on most of the movie figures when my pre-order was never fulfilled (or my money returned) before the shop went out of business. These will go a long way to soothing the ache... or be a constant reminder of the gaping hole in my collection.  :-\

Deepdiscount.com also has these on their site.

I "love" the female cowgirl with the bad Texas accent and the Australian bush hat.

Who the hell comes up with this ****?  I'm really getting pissed about the stereotype.  My god...I just can't.

I bet we'll find out it's all a front; that she and her buddies were a bunch of project managers from NYC visiting a ranch for corporate team building when the apocalypse hit.

This 2nd half has been a bore. Thumbs up, though, for Daniel and Grace's rendition of "End of the Line". (End of the line for who?)
