It’s been live for about five hours and it’s halfway backed.

Totally boring choices for TVC.

Axe Woves?
Grogu?
A Clone Trooper?
Count Dooku
Finn
Cassian from Rogue One?

Horrifically boring.

My thoughts exactly - especially Axe Woves, Clone Trooper, Finn, Dooku.  Did they just go through their archives and find figures that had tooling in good shape and picked those?  Seriously, who is going to buy those figures?

Wow.  The numbers are climbing fast on this.  I think it only took Razor Crest a day to back.  This might be on a similar trajectory.

Love we get a Phantom II.  Has anyone heard if Phantom 1 would fit as well if you want to interchange them?

I'm assuming we'll get a Sabine and Ahsoka figure in the mainline release soonish, so they probably left them out of the unlock tiers.

Overall I think this looks fantastic.

Mine showed up today.

I've mostly stopped collecting 6" figures, but if they make cool **** like this I'll definitely be buying it.

I think early momentum helps build the backing list too.  FOMO.  I see no benefit in waiting as it may seem like there aren't enough interested people and the negative buzz will start to rise.

Crumb looks like a whole new sculpt

Yes, Hasbro confirmed in their youtube video that Crumb was an all-new sculpt.

This kind of bugs me when they take their resources and redo something that we already have that is good enough instead of giving us something truly new.  The did an all new sculpt of the Endor Bunker that really was only marginally better than the old one, and Crumb is the same thing.

How about you use those sculpting resources on some all new figures for Andor, BoBF, or Mandalorian?

I'm 95% likely to back it day 1, unless the speculation on price and what it includes has been off target.

Yakface summarized Wave 3, and hinted that it might be the final wave.

Everything I'm reading from SDCC makes it sounds like Indy figures (all scales) are done but not 'dead' dead yet.  Hasbro stills hope some new stuff will get made someday but it sounds like nothing is planned past what has been shown.  Anything beyond what was announced will need a lot of help (like a big retail partner or new media) to see production.

Hopefully Target is seeing success with their exclusives.  It would be nice to see 6" and 3.75" continue in a small way, but they've done a pretty good job with these lines, especially the 6" line.  They've made a few too many Indy variants, and some of the exclusives were a little weird, but for the most part they haven't had many misses.  There are probably another dozen easy choices but they hit the high points if they do call it quits.

Maybe have a wave come out at Christmas for the next couple of years but I'm not sure they need a constant line.

I waffled back and forth, but went ahead and pre-ordered this set last night.

I ordered two of the Jabba Throne Room sets, so I really have no use for yet another dais and more of the same rugs and pillows.  I have so many Crumb and Jabba figures.  Why did I buy this? I guess I just spent $90 to get a new 8D8 figure... that will probably get double-dipped into the basic figure line on a TBOBF cardback anyway.

I am dumb, basically, is what I'm saying.   ::)

Oh well, I have a year to change my mind and cancel I guess.

I'm still waffling, and will probably do the opposite where I wait a year to order this if I think I really need to add a new $90 8D8 figure to my collection.

I think the interest is definitely there.  Hasbro has been releasing at least one per year since they offered the Jabba's Palace Adventure Set.  But it seems like Hasbro has a formula that they're sticking to, and maybe that's leading to a failure of imagination.

It seems like we have some very, very small hope of new figures being released, but with playsets I feel a little defeated by their recent attempts - scale of 1-10 with 10 being interesting and great value:
- Tantive IV hallway with Rebel Fleet Trooper - 8
- Jabba's Palace Adventure set - 5
- Navarro cantina - 4
- Endor bunker playset - 2
- Boba Fett / Jabba's throne room - TBD, but probably 4

Hasbro seems more interested in creating lots of little bottles, pillows, and other random doo-dads than actually making a cool playset at a reasonable price.  I'm not sure if they put all those things in there just to justify the price or if people (other than photo scene specialists) really dig those things.

In the Darryl DePreist days they used to execute these consistently well.  It doesn't need to be complicated, but it might take a commitment to actually making something new.  The ideas listed in this thread are solid, and will likely never get done.

My top no-brainers would be:
- Death Star
- Ewok village
- Rebel briefing room - any would be great but Rogue One or TFA would be my preference - maybe they'll have the Rogue One style room in Andor season 2

I'd also love to see a Rix Road playset from Andor done too, but they'll actually need to make figures to put in it.  Same goes for the Solo Sabacc table.  Now I'm really dreaming.

If The Ghost is larger than the BMF Falcon like the rumors were saying, a stand might not be an easy thing to do.

I really hope its not as wide as the BMF.  That thing is really tough to display because of how broad it is.  Hopefully they find a way to make it cool without being obscenely large.

I'm surprised Patrick made it this long without accidentally revealing the HasLab item.  He's gotta a couple more days to keep it together.

Kind of a dick move to post the guy's contact info if he really isn't the hold up.  I like that the production guy says he's not going to work for him again - that should speak volumes...

If the rumors are true that this is a $600 item, then I hope they consider backing and tier thresholds differently than they did for Razor Crest which was *only* $350.  I think $600 is going to pull a lot of more casual fans, speculators, and fans without plenty of cash out of the mix on this one.

I guess the Transformers Unicron was in this price range and had a threshold of 8,000 backers, but they only ended up getting to 10,000.  I think there is probably more upside with TVC Star Wars.

I think the threshold might only be 7,000 backers, and the tiers will be fairly tight, maybe in increments of 2000 backers?

I guess it all depends on how much they bundle in to the base package - extra figures, etc., and how much they try and stick in to unlock tiers.

I hope Hasbro doesn't get greedy on this and is able to make this program happen with sensible pricing, targets, value, etc.
