Hey gang, I just nuked a bowl of 3 day old pork fried rice for lunch, and I was wondering, what do you guys generaly get from th Chinese Food place. I generaly get:
General Tso's Chicken

So what do YOU get?
Kevin

I'm also a sucker for Chicken and Vegetable Tempura.
What's in that? :)
Kevin
-
My favorites
Chicken or Seafood Kung Pao
Beef or Chicken Lo Mein
Vegetable Fried Rice
Cream Cheese Wontons (my favorite...man oh man)
Sesame Chicken
I love the hot and spicy stuff as well as adding a little sweet and sour to the rice or Lo Mein. If I had to pick an ethnic food to live off of, it would Asian, I really enjoy it. Mexican is a close second followed by Italian. Last place is German...I love Sausages but the fixings and other stuff (Kraut, Spatzel, etc) can stay
-
Chicken Lo Mein and Pu Pu Platters, thats it.
-
Orange Chicken
Pot Stickers
Hot & Sour Soup
-
Honey mustard chicken
Kung Pao shrimp
Beef with broccoli and snow peas
Deep fried wontons
mushroom fried rice
-
Cream Cheese Wontons (my favorite...man oh man)
Cream Cheese Wantons=Crab Rangoons without the crab. Also my favorite.
Kevin
-
Orange Chicken w/ those red peppers- yum.
Shrimp toast
Potstickers
Won-Ton soup
Sesame Chicken
Also like egg rolls, but I don't bring any to work too much anymore after I heated one in a ziplock bag and my boss told me it looked like I was carrying a penis around. Kind of made me sick, but then it made me feel sorry for her. They are only maybe 5 inches long if that.
Haven't had restaurant Chinese in a while... maybe tomorrow.
-
I like a Dim Sum style lunch. They go around with little carts and you can pick several different little appetizers. If you have a chance to try it some time, do not hesitate.
Chinese food in China is MUCH different....
-
well, have you tried dry ginger beef? You have not lived until you've eaten some dry ginger beef. Thats all I am gonna say, I suggest you order it if you have not already. You will thank me, trust me..
-
I always get:
General Tso's Chicken
Fried Rice
Egg Roll
Fortune Cookie
:D
Only bitches eat with a with a fork.
>:(
-

Deep fried prawns.
Cashew Chicken: Water chestnuts, celery, carrots, mushrooms & of course chicken & cashews.
Honey Garlic Ribs.

Any else love Mongolian BBQ? Its where you go through a line and pile up a bowl of stuff (meat, noodles, veggies) and then add oils and sauces to taste. They put it all on this huge cooking skillet and cook it up
(http://www.metroactive.com/papers/metro/10.01.98/gifs/dining-9839.jpg)
Its fun to make have them craft your own foods to taste plus it is usually darn good
-
Unforunately, I am sensative to MSG in large doses so most Asian Foods are out for me (lest I spent the rest of the night in the bathroom :-X).
If I am feeling particularily willing to risk my gut on Chinese, I will indulge in a Sweet and Sour Chicken or a Sesame Chicken with rice dish, but that's about as far as I push it.
I agree though about the Mongolian BBQ, that is usually pretty good. We usually end up at Khan's Mongolian a few times a year for a tasty "meat cooked on a big rock" treat!
Jeff
-
Khan's is the place, I couldn't remember what it was called, my wife doesn't like going on there any more for some reason but its one of my more favorite spots to go
-
I wish I had some chinese food right now. OCB, how far from NY are you? Think you could make the extra trip? :-*
Kevin
-
I love Chineese food, although I won't go to the place down the street anymore.

They cannot seem to tell the difference between "hot and sour" soup and "egg drop" soup. And when we order food to be delivered, they usually forget the egg roll. And when we order take out, they screw up and go to our house and drive our food all ovet the neighborhood while we wait at the restaurant for it. Where else are their powers of discernment failing them?
Too bad their food tastes sooo good, when they get the order right.
-
Solution, Deanpaul:
Don't give them your adress when you go to pick up the food.
Seem's like a given to me.

That sounds easy, except they use a phone system that brings up our address with their caller id (it polls their computer for repeat customers, so they don't need to take our address each time we order)... Big brother Chang knows who we are and where we are before he even picks up the phone.
Welcome to the 21st Century, Kevin. I thought the youth of today was tech savvy?
-
;D
See, all of ours around here make us say our number, and they don't deliver.
Kevin
-
Just give me something (preferably beef or chicken, none of that meat Deanpaul's into) hot & spicy. Although I can eat Sweet & Sour Chicken like there's no tomorrow.
-
Love me some Chinese! But I'm mostly a meat guy. Basically any of the beef/chicken/shrimp dishes are what I'm down for. Sweet and Sour, Gung-pao, whatever. It's all good.
Just forget the vegetable and rice crap. :P
Oh yeah, gotta have some lettuce wraps (P.F. Changs) and of course some Tsing Tao to rinse it all down... 8)

Chinese food in China is MUCH different....
Dim Sum is very tasty, but very expensive. I had a girlfriend for several years who is Chinese and she turned me on to some great Dim Sum joints here in town.
-
You know what this all sounds like to me?
an "official" Chinese dinner for Jedi Defender members during C3....
Surely there has to be a Chinese place in Indianapolis nearby.
-
I will eat just about anything that has not made me **** through the head of a pin from a 100 feet.
-
I had Chinese for lunch today...here was my fortune:
-
Panda Express or China King is the place for me... Panda Express's Orange Chicken kicks all kind of ass. And of course I always get a fortune cookie, and maybe an egg roll.
-
You haven't lived until you've had sweet and sour shrimp from Trey Yuen in Mandeville or Hammond, LA. I agree with the PF Chang's recommendation as well: their Crispy Honey shrimp is a fave!
-
Pork Fried Rice or Vegetable Lo Mein
Kung Pao Chicken
Wonton Soup
Fried Dumplings
Egg Roll
-
Sweet and sour chicken. Sometimes with an egg roll or sesame balls.
-
My favorites are:
General Tso's Chicken w/ white rice
Orange Beef/Chicken
Pork Egg Roll
Bar B Q Spare Ribs
Hot and Sour Soup
I also had a shrimp dish at one place that was shrimp with candied walnuts. I haven't found any other place that makes a similar dish, but it was really good.
-
I love Chinease food! I know it is not healthy in terms of the sodium, but I love the mixture of vegatables and meat.
Favorite dishes:
Pepper Steak
Lo Mein
Beef & Brocolli
Sweet and Sour shrimp
Chickin in Black Bean Sauce
-
HAHAHAH! I just had some today! Chicken Lo mein X-tra sauce & Crab rangoons

I'm sad nobody read my fortune and thought it to be hilarious (http://www.jedidefender.com/yabbse/index.php?topic=5690.msg298846#msg298846)

Maybe that's what Deana was laughing about? :) Just funnin' ya there D.
By the way, that's the lamest fortune ever. Nothing creative about it, the place that made it simply lifted it. Where's the good stuff? Where's Confucious? Yoda isn't Chinese. That's bull**** and I'd have demanded my meal for free.
I'm a big fan of Spicey Trio myself... It's a spicey red/brown sauce with chicken, beef, & shrimp. MMMMMMMMMMMmmmmm bitch, that's good stuff! Of course, I'm not a fan of take-out usually, just the good place downtown that you eat in at because, well, who the hell drives into downtown of a city to get expensive chinese to drive home and eat?
Love that with a Mai Tai... Place has Tiki God glasses and everything. I'd drink out of those all the time if I could, so as not to anger the Tiki God.
