Jim, did you still need an RS Rares?  I might pull one from a trade if you need it, and pass it along to you for another of yours that I need.  So LMK!

Nope, sorry. I picked up all the RS rares that I needed on ebay a few weeks ago. All I need now from the RS set is 6 VRs. Thanks for the offer though.

Any chance of doing a 2 for 2 rare swap from the CS set? Like my Typho and Kaadu for your Tinn and Spider Droid? LMK.

You talking about last years total? Yeah, more than 1/3 of my total from last year came over the last 3 months. I'll have to be slowing down that pace or I'll be in real trouble.  :-X

Guess it's time for me to get one going for this year. With Star Wars being the sole line I'll probably collect this year, I don't know that I'll eclipse last years total by much, if at all. So a conservative estimate will be $4000 for the year. Certainly no more than $5000, I hope.  :-\

January
1. Darth Vader Unleashed and cheap Target Leia collector cup - $18.61

Clone Wars '03-'05 / Re: Clone Trooper 4 Packs!
« on: January 5, 2005, 10:41 AM »

So far my two favorite logics are:

"Well I live overseas and we pay $13 for basic figures so this is a steal and you need to quit whining about it"

&

"Well the CW version sells on Ebay for $20 so at $10+ you should be happy because that's a good value"

Neither opinion with any logic or solid thought behind it.   ::)

While I don't think you should be happy about EE's prices compared to what ebay prices are on the single carded SA clones, I do think that the going rate on ebay plays a part in why these will cost as much as they do.

If EE did indeed set their own prices on these sets, you can't tell me they didnt' take into consideration the going rate on ebay for SA clones. I'm sure that played a large part in why these are priced as high as $10/fig. They are in the market to make money, so why price a 4 pack of figs for $20 when the going rate for these on the secondary market is 4 times that.

And while I agree they "should" cost $5/fig because that is what they retailed for last year, show me where you can find one for $5 right now??

$120 for one set of each 4 pack?  ::)   Thanks.

Let me see, the single carded super articulated clones were 5 bucks each. But to package 4 of them together, now they're $7.50 each? Makes perfect sense to me.

Of course, put me down for one of each.  :-\

So Jeff, count me in on going in on a case of them with you.

Yeah, they are in a baggie inside the boxes. I just got mine from Simon last week and have opened them and can confirm that they are indeed inside a baggie.

Where's the love for Otis Nixon? Not even a single vote??  ???

And how the hell does Dave Concepcion get more votes than Dale Murphy? Ridiculous.

Glad I got me some from Simon recently, to polish off the mini line finally.

Does that mean you finally picked up the UCS Star Destroyer to get the mini RBR that comes with it?  :-*

Yeah, it's a real shame Carolina or even the Saints didn't make it over the Vikings. Both of them are a lot more deserving, playing better ball of late and would have given some team a better challenge. Saints end with 4 straight wins, Carolina ends winning 6 of 8. The Vikes drop their last 2 and 4 of their last 5, and somehow luck their way into the playoffs due to the wonky tie break system.  ::)

Anyway, here are my picks.

Indy over Denver
SD over NYJ
Packers over Vikes
StL over Sea

NE over Indy
Pitt over SD
Atl over GB
Phi over Stl

Pitt over NE  - Too many weapons on offense and top rated defense in both yds and pts against.

Phi over Atl  - Even without TO, Atl won't win because it's on the road where they finished 4-4 and struggled in 2 of their wins.

Pitt over Phi  - Same reason for them beating NE.

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Snow!
« on: January 4, 2005, 09:45 AM »
Snow has been virtually nonexistent here all winter. I just heard on the news this morning that so far, we've had something like 2.8" the entire season. And that is a record low amount thru Jan. 4th for the area since they started keeping records.

I just hope we don't play catch up and get like 40" in March.  :-\

Well, my final total came to $4319.69. A good 50% more than I would have estimated at the start of the year.  :o  I could say my goal for this year would to not surpass that, but being a movie year, I'd say chances are slim.  :-X

I too just received some Kubrick and LEGO sets from Simon and am very pleased with everything. Great guy and easy to deal with. Looking forward to future dealings.

Thanks again.  :)
