Not sure who they belong to yet, but If I had to take a guess, I'd say they will be at Wal-Mart for the DVD release, just like the OT and CW sets were...
Yes, folks it's another variant of the 3-Pack Clones, only this time in a fancy box!

The Jedi Set looks like it has the "Battle Arena" Versions...
And yes, a Sith box of repacks as well!

The Anakin is definitely from the Battle Arena (I can tell because of that disturbing arm pose), but I'm not so sure about the Mace and Obi-Wan. I'm fairly sure that the Obi-Wan is the same figure that was packed in with the Mustafar playset (I could be wrong though).
The Mace is curious because it almost looks like the Episode I Mace figure with a purple lightsaber. ???

That looks like the Mail Away Episode I Mace
-
Straight from my buddy Red5sixx's ebay auction pics over on www.bluedottoyz.com. Wild, man. You Jedidefender researchers waste no time!
Oh, and that is indeed the Ep. 1 mail away Mace. I've held these babies in my hands and they are beautiful. But then, I'm a sucker for boxed sets.
-DD
-
Uh oh.
I guess I'll buy 'em since I bought the OT sets and the CW sets.
-
That looks like the Mail Away Episode I Mace
Yeah, it does sort of look like that Mace with a purple saber... strange to drag that mold out for this set. ???
I'll definately pass on the Jedi and Sith sets, but much like everyone else I'm sure, I'll definitely try to grab one of the Clone Box sets. That 3-pack looks like scalper bait for SURE. :-\
-
The Clone set just looks like more of the Deluxe clones with a new paint job. I'm a sucker and have been buying them but I have some of the AOTC sets open and the figures aren't that great. The kneeling clone is the best sculpt and the prone just misses.
I passed on the Trilogy sets and I'll pass on these as well. At least the Jedi and Sith sets anyway. I'll decide on the Clone set when I see it.
As for that Mace, that sculpt is 6 years old and it's still, arguably, the best. The Jedi Council set isn't bad but the Saga versions suck and the ROTS version still hasn't nailed it yet.

Wow. What a gigantic waste of money.
-
Wow. What a gigantic waste of money.
Bitter much?
In case you haven't noticed, this is ALL a colossal waste of money. ;D
-DD
-
Guess I can kiss another $96.65 of my money away on more repacked garbage... Granted, it's my own fault, I know. Actually, it looks like only the Clones are "new", so I'll only have to buy one opener set, which will drop the total down to a mere $64.43. :P
But considering how well the prior DVD 3-pack sets sold (at least around here - sold out in a day or so), I guess this comes as no major surprise. Easy money for Hasbro.
Really bizarre to see a 6 year old Mace pop up in the mix there though. Of course, these could just be mock-ups...? Or are they really the final product? Do you know, DD?
-
Wow, those are terrible! I'm glad Hasbro keeps putting ****** figures in multipacks, easier for me to pass them up!
Though I'll get that Clone set if I see it. I'm a hypocrite, I know
-
Well I will pick these up. I never picked up the others as I never saw the Clone Wars ones and traded off my OT ones. That is if I see these at all.
-
I will already be purchasing the ROTS DVD and Battlefront II Nov. 1st, I don't think I will be purchasing this junk.
-
What is that Mace figure? It looks different than the other Maces I have seen. Or I just can't remember them that much. Is that Ep1 Mace withough the cloak?
Anyway I won't be buying these but the clone pack is not that bad IMO. I will be buying other clonetrooper items besides this one. At least these packs tend to go fast when they put them out. Thankfully they are usually spread out anywhere but the toy aisles. It seems like Wal-Mart liked to put them all over the store which is cool since they don't clog up the current pegwarmers.
-

I'm fairly sure (going by the pictures) that it is the regular carded Episode I Mace Windu without the cloak and a purple lightsaber. The head could be different, but I can't tell from the photo, but it looks identical to the E1 Mace to me.
As for the Clones, is it just me, or is the one on the right a mirror image of the one on the left? I don't mean literally, but it's like they just did a negative impression of the mold and sculpted it the exact opposite direction or something.
-
Uh oh.
I guess I'll buy 'em since I bought the OT sets and the CW sets.
Ah **** a doodle! Guess I'm in too. :-\
-
That looks like the Mail Away Episode I Mace
I agree with Scott's guess here.
As for the "mirrored" Clone there, I think it's just the same exact Clone as on the opposite side of the package, just flipped around the opposite direction to look different. I'm guessing they decided they didn't want to go with the Clone in the prone position from the Clonetrooper 3-packs, so they just doubled up on the standing one, to go along with the (old) kneeling one.
-
JediMAC: They're the final product. Hasbro just packed in the old Ep. 1 Mace, since it's the only moderately good one they ever did. Like I said, I've had these in hand...it's my friend's auction.
Look at the bright side though...although the figures are repacks, since they'll be at Wal-Mart, you're only looking at paying $9.96 per set. And all it'll cost is another little piece of your soul, for supporting the evil that is Sam Walton's unstoppable juggernaut. ;)

I think that's a good decision. Here's hoping these show up north of the border. I'd buy a couple of the clone packs, non-articulated or not. At least it's not just one with trim.

That is my favorite Mace figure of the bunch, but it's not like I'd be opening the packs aside from the clones anyway.
-
If I see them, I'll probably buy the clone set. Like the others, I just can't seem to walk away from anything clonetrooper related (no matter how many times it is a repeat/repainted figure). :-\
Are they really going to be $9.96? That's not a bad price for three figures!! I would have guessed $15-20 just because of the new packaging.
-
I'm gonna pass as I prefer to wipe my butt with paper not plastic. :P

No wonder white clone plastic tends to discolor. :-\

I'm gonna pass as I prefer to wipe my butt with paper not plastic. :P
Hey! That's one I have not heard before. I like it. Ah the infinite possible ways to rip apart Hasbro :)
-
These don't bother me all that much. The past sets have been easy to get as long as you're at a Walmart that has the DVD display out on first thing Tuesday, and the price has been fair. The use of the DVD-style packaging is classy.I'll pick up an opener Clone set and a complete set to keep packaged.
That said, the figures are the worst of the offerings in these sets by a long shot.
-
Jedi Set: Whatever!!
Sith Set: This will be fine for me, because I never got the Palpatine or Vader, and I could use another Dooku. Unless I break down and buy the Sith Evolution set, provided I ever see it.
Clone Set: Sigh.
-
I don't have anything to add on the figure set front...I just wanted to point out that Spuffy's avatar is cute.
I guess I do have something to add...you know what would have MADE this set? A transparent "Emperor's Wrath" style Mace Windu, with injection molded skeleton.
-DD
-
The clone set doesn't look half bad--even though those helmets are probably the stupidest variant yet, at least they ditched the prone/dead clone for another standing one.
Undecided on the Sith set.
Most likely pass on the Jedi.
BTW, Mace is the regular carded Episode I figure:
The Mailaway Sneak Preview has a built-in cloak:
Unless they just swapped the arms or something....??

That would have been sweeeet.
-
Yeah, looks like you're right there, Nathan. Brainfart on our part, for sure. I forgot what the Ep. 1 version even looked like without his chocolate shell covering... Good eye!
-
Damned completists; gotta(doomed to) buy it. ::)
I thought I recall paying 19.99$ for the 2 prior DVD release 3 packs.....Oh well, whateva the price my wallet will be lighter still :(
-
I'm 95% sure they were only $14.88 the first couple go-rounds, Jon. Hopefully that's indeed the case...
-
I thought they were only $9.99, then again, I didn't buy any so I can't be sure. I probably won't get any of these either, but I do love the packaging.
-
I'm not one to be overly negative, but these blow. I'm really surprised sometimes at the lack of quality of the exclusive offerings.
-
I paid $9.95 or so for the one I got (the Imperial one since I needed Palpy). I recall that price because I was pleased to get Palpy and the Stormtrooper and what I just basically counted as a "free" Vader I didn't want.
-
Are you 96% sure Jesse- cause then you can beat Matt? ;)
I guess I'm too damn old to remember back that far(Iknow, I know, it wasn't that long ago right?). Anyway That's what the old Lady tells me all the time- Man, how they conveniently remember non-important things is beyong me!
-
You know what, I think you guys are right on the $10 per.
OK, yeah, you guys were definitely right on the $10 per, on both the OT and CW sets (http://www.jedidefender.com/yabbse/index.php?topic=6522.msg109237#msg109237). Hopefully that stays the same. Phew! Don't know where I got that $15 idea from, but glad I was flat-out wrong, 'cause that puts another $20 back in my pocket! 8)
-
I'm 97% positive The Clone Wars were 3 figs -however clueless on price but know it wasn't (I wish) 10$. :-X
I'm sure we'll pay at least 15$ since you can only get it at WM right?
-
I was actually just editing my prior post to reflect that Jon, after finally getting off my lazy ass and actually looking it up in the CW forum. ;) $10 per (http://www.jedidefender.com/yabbse/index.php?topic=6522.msg109237#msg109237). I can probably stomach that.
-
I didn't understand what you meant but..it sounded ;D funny LOL!
-
After finally getting off my sloth/ass and searching my thin memory banks I realize that I got The CW through a trade from Steve-the first set was the only ones I got in the store and ..man, that was soooo many ****** Hasbro figs ago. :-[
While pondering this I came upon a second realization that...I like the lower price too.. and yeah, I just shut up now :-X
Wow after all that thinking I need to hit the sloth-sac. zzzZZZZ
-
Well, looks like this will be something I pass on. If I pick it up it will be an impulse buy, nothing more.
:P
-
I'm not sure if I'll be picking these up or not, but I might get one. The figures aren't anything overly exciting to me, since most of us already have them, but the price is quite good for someone who doesn't. I have kind of liked the way these DVD packs have been packaged, and I might pick up at least one just for that. I saw all three of the OT packs, and picked up the ESB one, and also saw the Clone Wars packs but didn't end up buying any of those. The packaging on these looks kind of neat though, so we'll see. They seemed to sell pretty well around here too, especially the OT DVD packs. I did see a few of the CW packs get clearanced, hidden away on one of Wal-Marts "back" toy aisles. Overall though, $9.96 for three figures isn't too bad of a deal, and the way they are displayed towards the front of the store with the DVD (when it is released), it is probably a good "impulse buy" for casual buyers/non-collectors.
-
I passed on all the others so probably these as well. If anything the clone set, but i am uncertain still.
-
Have to admit, I'll probably be getting them.
-
I passed on the OTC packs at first, but then went back and got the ANH one (4 figs for $3 c'mon!). Never saw the CW ones. I'll get these if they clearance. Otherwise... not likely.
-
For me - just like the DVD and Clone Wars packs - these sets will be one of the VERY few items where I only get one of each different pack (instead of my typical two). The figures are identical, I have no need to have a set of 3-packs opened.
I do like the artwork on the package. Thank goodness there isn't anything really "new" about these, otherwise people would probably be more upset about these coming out.
-
The figures are identical, I have no need to have a set of 3-packs opened.
But the Clones aren't identical, are they Peter? I was thinking I would need to get an opener of those, unless I'm mistaken... No?
-
*sigh*
You're right Matt. The clone set does contain different figures than anything else we've seen so far.
Well crap.
I guess I am going to need to get two of at least the clone set.
Well - if it's any consolation, at our local WalMart stores the day the DVDs have come out, the past two sets were VERY easy to get.
The Clone Set was easier since there were only two, but with OT DVD set was odd 'cause some stores only received two different ones so it meant having to go to two stores to get all three.
Here's hoping the distribution is balanced and if you hit a WalMart at 7AM on November 1st there is a good number of all three (although, if they go heavy on the Clones, that would be smart)
-
Galactic Hunter (http://www.galactichunter.com/absolutenm/templates/full_article_template_1.asp?articleid=4831&zoneid=2) has a preview up of the first of the DVD 3 packs, the one including Mace, Obi-Wan, and Anakin. The figures that are said to be included are the Episode I Sneak Preview Mace Windu, the Battle Arenas Anakin Skywalker, and the Mustafar Playset Obi-Wan Kenobi.
-
Does anyone else think that the artwork for this set is better that the actual movie poster?
-
These POS sets showwed up here tonight. They were an easy pass for me. The figures look horrible. The packaging is OK but there is way to much white, they should of had some kind of insert in the tray. The clones are just the Deluxe Clone 3-pack with some random gold lines on them. And the paint app on Obi-Wan's face is terrible.
-
I picked them up tonite at my local WM. No, I won't be fighting to get these later on ebay( for 10$ an easy take).
Bring on the clone wars DVD release figs ;D
-
Aghhhh! I hate when stores break the release dates. All it takes is one scalper to figure it out and I've already heard two guys here say that they will grab every clone pack they see. >:(
-
Anthony...start worrying...Well my store only had 3 cases-(18 units-6 clones) I hope they get more than that or a reshipment or these are gonna suck to get
-
Heyguys, were these sitting on the shelves in the toy aisle like normal figures or somewhere else? Its just odd that these didn't show up on the big DVD palettes like the previous 3-pack exclusives.
-

I'm sure what happened is when they got them in, the stockers, who can't read which is why they work at Wal Mart, couldn't figure out what they were for, so they put them in the toy isle.
-
It just sucks if they aren't arriving on those palettes. I was really looking forward to these not being an extra headache to track down, and now they may be.
Damn illiterates.
-
The ones I bought were put out on the SW island.
-
I still haven't decided on the clone trooper pack--I'm waiting to see just how lame they look in person before I make my decision.
Easy pass on the other two.
-
I opened the cases to find em. THey were sitting on palletes next to the DVD island though, so I assume that's where they go.
-
honestly they all suck, but for $10 mind as well get the Clone pack since its another repaint of the Clone 3 pack ::)
-
I decided to buy the clone 3 pack because even though they are deluxe, they have two standing and one kneeling, and I like the bronze color they have. That and my 11 year old son wants them to play with.
-
I think the clone pack is ok. I won't be buying it because I'd rather pay $10 on the hope and prayer that I find a red shocktrooper and 501st trooper at retail without a kid nabbing them before I get there. Yeah, on two seperate occasions kids have gotten their grubby hands on my shocktroopers. You kids are not supposed to be into Star Wars damnit!!!!
Sorry about that :(
-
Anthony...start worrying...Well my store only had 3 cases-(18 units-6 clones) I hope they get more than that or a reshipment or these are gonna suck to get
Lucked out and got 'em Jon. ;)
-
Can someone tell me the retail price?
-
Im sure they are 9.98 like the other DVD packs.
-
Mine was $9.96 plus tax, came to $10.62 here in Utah (Sales tax is 6.6%).
-
I decided to buy the clone 3 pack because even though they are deluxe, they have two standing and one kneeling, and I like the bronze color they have.
I feel as you do about this. It is the only DVD 3-pack I'll be buying and thanks to a friend, I got it today.

Like i said earlier i was undecided if i wanted these, but checked them out on Walmart.com and bought the clone set. They are different enough, but what really made me decide was the .97 shipping price. Why not at that point. ;)
-
Thanks to JD I was finally able to get these things.
I was on the fence, but the 97 cent shipping pushed me over the edge.
Thanks for the news guys!
-
Now I'm just hoping that they do the same with the Animated 3 packs when Clone Wars Volume 2 comes out. Somehow I doubt they will :-\
-
What will suck is if they leak out the CW sets early, like they're doing with the ROTS sets right now. Guaranteed way to not find Cody. :(
-
What will suck is if they leak out the CW sets early, like they're doing with the ROTS sets right now. Guaranteed way to not find Cody. :(
I thought about that as well.
-
Well, I just got an email from Wal*Mart that the Clone DVD sets I ordered have been cancelled. Thanks again Wal*Mart.
YOU SUCK.
-
I got my set in the mail. I hope they offer the clone wars sets as well.
-
Forgive me, but I haven't been paying much attention... Are there ANY differences whatsoever in the figures in the Jedi or Sith DVD 3-packs? I nabbed two of each, but if they're identical to what's already come out before, then there's no need for me to have some openers if I've already got openers of these from before...
Pretty sure they're just rehashes, but if there's any differences that I'm missing (other than Vader's helmet being glued on), please LMK quick! Otherwise, I'm returning my second sets of those tomorrow. Thanks!
- M
-
The RS Archive says they're all repacks. Windu's even an Ep I repack!
-
Arent the Obi-Wan and Anakin from the Mustafar playset? The figs dont seem to be from the regular basic line.
-
Obi-Wan is. Anakin's from the Battle Duel thing or whatever the hell it was called. The things with the battle bases...
-
What is up with the left arm pose of that Anakin? Weird...
-
What is up with left arm pose of that Anakin? Weird...
Agreed and conidering this Anakin originally came with in a duel set with Count Dooku, it's almost like Anakin's just putting his left arm out there saying "go ahead, chop this one off too!" Very odd pose for a figure IMHO.
-
hi the good news is the walmart 3 packs are available in France through the Carrefour stores.
they sell those for 21.99 euros :o but you get a 10 euros discount if you buy the dvd
i took the clone set !
