I just started collecting 12" figures recently, and here's a link that will take you to some of the pics of them.  I have a bunch more coming in from eBay users (4-LOM, Sandtrooper, Stormtrooper, and 2 Cantina Band Members.

http://www.chrisrhoads.com/starwars_gallery_9.htm

I'm still wishing they'd come out with a 12" Snaggletooth figure... he's one of my favorites.

I don't collect 12" figures but, I did just win the Fan Club exclusive Ki-Adi-Mundi in Trivia League II at JundlandWastes.com (http://www.jundlandwastes.com).  Depending on how much I like the figure, I may just start, or I may end up trading him. ;)

My 12" collection consists of X1 of of every 12" figure that has been released since the POTF2 line. I have all the store exclusives and have everything up to date that has been released. I am waiting for the next wave, Pig Guard, Max Reebo, and future 12" dolls.
Title: Re:Your 12" Figure Collection .
Post by: Zuckuss44 on March 15, 2003, 01:51 PM
Well, all I have right now is:

4-LOM
Darth Maul

So, I guess my collection isn't that exciting. I plan on buying the Rebo band, all bounty hunters, and perhaps if I see an intersting figure, like the Lando skiff guard, I might get it. But right now, I should concentrate on figures about a quarter of that size.

Post by: Klaatu on March 23, 2003, 02:36 AM
My 12" collection is up to about 75 or so pieces.  The main ones I am missing are Endor Leia and Speederbike, Luke and Yoda, Red and Yellow Clonetroopers, Jedi Luke (with bone),  Jedi Luke and Bib, Han and Luke Stormtroopers, Emperor and Royal Guard, First Chewie, Greedo, Tarkin, Tarkin and Death Star Droid, 3rd and 4th waves of Episode 1 12" and 2nd and 3" waves of Saga 12".  Of course I will never see some of these like the 12" Electronic Qui Gon or Luke and BIb,  but I still look for them regularly,

Post by: Depmode on March 24, 2003, 10:05 PM
I think the 12" are really cool. I've decided I have to have limits though, and I need to draw them at the 12". I cannot collect everything out there, and while I like the 12", I find them to be a more expensive avenue of collecting.

As far as what I have, my dad got me the 6 cantina band memebers MISB for christmas (first gift from him in like, 4 years?). That was nice and fake of him, but  I still like the figs. Since then, I have gotten about 15 more of them. But I have decided to tone it down. There are a lot of them out there, and they cost a lot :)

Boba Binks, I would be interested in seeing a picture of your collection, as I am sure all the 12" figs together is quite impressive!!!!

I started collecting this past year the Episode II figs but since then have expanded my collection to include the 12in figs.

Right now my most impressive ones are my Amidala and Leigh 12 inch dolls. I have 6 of them.

I also have some of the more resent to come out and a few of the older releases that I purchased off of the scum forums..All together I believe I have 17 dolls plus one on the way...of the clone trooper( not sure if it is yellow or red yet)

so not as many as some but still the collection is growing everyday ;D

(my husband would like my to collect smaller packaged toys that do not take up as much room ;))

My collection consists of:

Sandtrooper w white pauldron (6.00)
Snowtrooper - Canadian version - natch (9.99)
Electronic Darth Maul ($1.50)

have a bid in on an AT-AT driver (9.99)

Needing a stormtrooper and a Vader to make me happy.  Oh yeah, Tie Pilot and I suppose a Boba Fett.

stoopid, stoopid, stoopid.  Prices in brackets are what I paid, US dollars.

My 12" collection is pretty scarce, but I don't have the room for it anyways.  All I have is Stormtrooper Luke, Stormtrooper Han, Endor Han, and Dagobah Luke w/Yoda.  I also have the new 12" Yoda (or 6" I guess), preordered through Kebco.  There are a lot of great figures in this line, but I've pretty much limited myself to 3 3/4" for now.  Nice collections everyone though!

Yeah, I know ::)  I'm thinking that might be a good strategy, but she already does a good job snagging what she wants out of my room, rather than what I want her to have.

Maybe if I get her the Han and Luke Stormtroopers, she can have both worlds and will leave my stuff alone?  Nah, never work.

It'd only work if you told her she couldn't touch them. ;)

Fixed that.  Winners, a mostly clothing store that occasionally carries toys brought in some 12" figs for $9.99 Cdn ($6 US).  I picked up two snowtroopers plus Hoth Han and Hoth Luke.  They apparently had AT-AT drivers as well, but I was not so fortunate.

She can have Han and Luke.  Maybe a Snowtrooper too.

BTW, is this version of Han the single ugliest 12" figure or does it get worse?

Add a 100th Luke to my collection.  Total now looks like this:

Snowtrooper x3 (will happily trade two of them for other stuff)
Sandtrooper white pauldron
AT-AT driver
Electronic 13" Vader (Jim tells me I own one of these but he's currently displaying it for me :P)
100th Luke
Hoth Luke (will sell cheap) 1997
Hoth Han ditto

so i've been buying 12" figures for a while now, pretty much since '95, and storing them waiting for a good time to open them and a good place to display them. well, i finally got tired of waiting and just opened as many of them as i could fit on these two shelves a few weeks ago:

i've still got a few more to open, but now i really have no where to put them. and for some reason, i couldn't bring myself to open the speederbikes, i don't know why. i think they just look so cool in those boxes and i'm afraid they won't stand up once i take them out  :D

and after i took those pics, i added a plo koon and a few others to the shelf... have to get some updated pics taken.... soon, hopefully soon. enjoy!!!

Sweet collection there Dave!  I have a bunch of 12" figures myself, but they're all boxed at the moment.  After seeing how nice they look opened in your collection, I will more than likely open mine up as well (after buying a new house next year, which will give me the space needed to display them).

The highlight of my 12" collection is my Marmit Fett (customized).

I have only a few of the Collector Series, but managed to pick up:

12" Biker Scout and Speeder Bike
All of the 12" bounty hunters
Ultimate Jango
Aurra Sing - C-3PO - Anakin (Masterpiece Collection with book)

These are my favorites.

thanx dsj just completed rebuying the vintage collection. Btw did the thumbnails turn out ok or did you have to go to community webshots to see em?

The thumbnails are fine. I always like going to a members link of there collections as the pic's are usually larger. Gives you a better view of the items they have & sometimes there maybe be something else of intrest.

Someday, I will have to work on my vinty 12" collection. Yours are just awesome.

that is really nice looking, but i think it was unneccesary for someone to pay that much for it... the stormie shoulder pads do look better than the ones that hasbro gave us originally, but at that cost i can live with the elastic bands  :P

I started collecting loose 12" about 6 months ago - just buying opened ones at trade shows and new ones if they were on clearance.  I generally try to shoot for 7 to 10 dollars per figure... and focus on OT characters.

I'm up to about 50 or so now.

Pictures coming eventually.

EDIT:  Make that about 65-70

I just recently started grabbing some of the old Saga ones on clearances. So far I have:

Zam Wesell (paid $5 at TRU)
Mace Windu (paid $6 at TRU)
Imperial Officer (paid $3 at TRU) :o
Zuckuss (paid $5 at Wally)
Dengar (paid $5 at Wally)
Count Dooku (paid $5 at Wally)

That's it for now. Hope to get more soon.

My mom was out looking at antiques today. She called me and said she found 3 of the Emperor Palpatine and Royal Guard Target exclusive sets at some store.

So I go over to this store, and there they are. 3 sets, $10 each. I only bought one, but I might get the other two for the Guards.

I'll be adding the Ultimate Villain Darth Vader, Emporer Palpatine and General Grievous at some point.  My focus has been on the 3.75 inch line for the time being.

Post by: Matt_Fury on April 10, 2005, 05:18 PM
I have about 30 or so figures, ranging from POTF2 to ROTS.  I have no desire to be a 12" completeist....I just get the ones I find interesting, like just about anyone who holds a lightsaber!

Some of my favorite pieces:

- Biker Scout with Speeder Bike
- Darth Maul with Sith Speeder (although I have the original 12" Darth Maul on the Speeder)
- Electronic Darth Vader
- Medicom Luke

Post by: Ben on April 10, 2005, 11:16 PM
I'm finding myself having a greater interest in the 12" line now, so after ROTS ends, I might just switch to these since I won't be into 3.75" stuff anymore.

I'm really not a 12" collector, and I think that I only have 4 total...and nothing particularly spectacular at that (Luke Stormtrooper, Han Stormtrooper, Han Endor, Luke Dagobah w/Yoda, "Ultimate" Yoda).  However, I have seen a few of the ROTS ones floating around, and they don't look too bad.  The Grievous in particular looks kind of spiffy, although I don't think I'll be picking it up.  I have been thinking about getting a Chewbacca though, and saw the KB version back on Apr 2, but passed because it was $30 and I had already spent quite a bit.  Has anyone picked up this, or the VOTC version?  If so, what do you think of them?  Are there any differences between the two, other than packaging/weapon?  I was just curious if one was a better choice than another.  I don't really have room for a lot of 12" figures, but Han and Chewie have always been my favorites, so I thought it might be nice to get a Chewbacca one.

Well I think I have almost all of them up to the beginning of AOTC.  After that I don't have all that many either by choice or simply could never find them at retail.  Such as Yoda, Ewoks 2 pack, Garindan, etc.

Instead of listing everything I have - I'm going to list what I don't have... I keep a list of what I'm missing here at work so I can scan eBay from time-to-time...

My 12" collection consists of one of every 12" figure, figure w/vehicle and figure w/beast released except for the following:

Collector Series:
Boba Fett
Stormtrooper

Action Collection:
AT-AT Driver
Electronic C-3PO & R2-D2 (TRU exclusive)
Electronic 14" Darth Vader (the one I have, I opened)
Luke Skywalker in Stormtrooper Disguise w/Dianoga Tentacle
R2-D2 w/Detachable Utility Arms

and that's it - that's all I'm missing before I can claim I have a "complete" set of 12" figures.

The AT-AT driver isn't really a necessity since it is just a re-package from the exclusive version that came in the Collector Series style packaging. I want to kick myself over not having the Electronic droids simply because I saw them all over, but didn't get into collecting 12" figures until TPM came out.

Like Pete Fett there are only a few that I'm missing. Unfortunately I haven't been keeping track lately, so I don't know all the figures I'm missing. The only one I definitely don't have is Plo Koon.

I have to say I am very impressed with my two new 12" dolls, Barriss Offee and Shaak Ti.  The articulation is what I dreamed for on my other female dolls and I already envision customs with Barriss (her bald head works perfect).  The material on her cape is well done and both figures can hold their lightsabers with no problems.  Shaak Ti's gown isn't as full as I would have hoped but these two by far are the best yet.  (If Speeder Bike Leia didn't have that goofy grin, she'd be in spot number one).

My 12" collection is very small.  I have always been really selective about what I will buy in this scale.

IG-88 POTJ (x2) (custom silver struts added to keep legs extended)
Boba Fett Electronic
Boba Fett OTC
Bossk (a little weak on the head sculpt but hey its Bossk!)
Zuckuss
Jawa Electronic (x4)
R2-A6
R5-D4 (x2)
Ponda Baba

Stormtrooper Marmit (x4)

Darth Vader Medicom on order

Non Star Wars
Dr. Evil (Captain Action) -exposed brain: brilliant
Armed Terrorist (21st Century Toys)- Such an inappropriate toy
Mazinger Z
Mandarin Spawn

I used to be caught up with this line until AOTC came out.  After that it was hit or miss.  I would still someday like to get the following:

AOTC Yoda
Ewoks 2 pack
Geonosian Warrior
Garindan
Plo Koon
Ki-Adi-Mundi

Wish they would make a Hammerhead, Kit Fisto, Aayla Secura, ROTS Clonetroopers (different color schemes), Some Jabba aliens including Jabba himself, A-Wing Pilot, etc.   Never happen now I guess.

So far all i have are  ROTS Palpatine and a Clone trooper...I wanna get another one to open tho

*update* Courtesy of my girlfriend in the States, I now have the KB ROTS Chewie and another ROTS Clone trooper, as well. as Saga Dooku and Obiwan, Episode 1 Qui-Gon and Darth Maul, and Barriss Offee acquired through flea markets and TRU...Anyone know if the Head of the ROTS clone and the AOTC Obiwan are compatible? I'm looking to make a 12 inch General Kenobi, but i don't wanna wreck anything. With any luck i'll be able to track down Shaak Ti, and Grievous, maybe the Ultimate Villain Anakin, so i'll have the complete ROTS 12 inch line...just waiting for Sideshow to start making them now <crosses his fingers and prays they won't be TOO expensive>
