The Vintage Collection / Re: Big Items of the Future!
« on: August 17, 2008, 03:06 AM »
How about a new Rebel transpot?

with a movable gun on top, wide cockpit for 4 action figures, longer than BMF, with some accesories like the vintage one, like gas mask, bags, weapons.

The Prequel Trilogy / Re: Are the Jedi anti-jedi?
« on: August 14, 2008, 12:35 AM »
In the narrative elements of a tragedy is necesary to show the evolution of the power of the antagonists
In ep I, Palpatine managed to separate both Sidious and the senator/chancellor roles, because he is a master of deceive (This is one of his first shown skills, heīs strong in the dark side but heīs also extremely cuning) While episodes or acts of tragedy advance both heroes and villians evolve in skills, but there is a diference, heroes evolve in virtue (in the greek sense of areté) while villians evolve in evilness and vice.

In ep II, Palpatine shows more confidence in his power than before, because he is at the head of the Republic. At the end of Aotc (I didnīt remember the lines) Yoda and Mace conclude they canīt trust in Palpy and must keep an eye on his behavior. He accomplished his plans: make the separatist clash with the Republic in a conflict that will weaken both and made him the only option to solve the crisis.
Jedis were fighting in this conflict because they care about people and wanted to safe the most lives.

The two previous episode brought the conditions for the rise of the empire in rots, when Palpatine controls the army to overcome the Jedi with order 66. At this point  all Jedi were distrutful with Palpy but only a hero in tragedy could discover the hidden truth, Anakin, because he was growing in Power and virtue, he discovered Palpatine was the Sith Lord, because he was close to him, and he had an advantage in force sensitivity among the Jedi group.

The Legacy Collection / Re: SDCC'08 Disturbance in the Force Set

Itīs a great toy, the flloor is well depicted, with the base that follows the meditation chamber on Executor SSD. Only one question, Why Hasbro never produces a Vader from meditation Chamber or already out of meditation chamber with removable helmet?

I think Hasbro should update 2 molds for a Vader with removable Helmet, the Votc and the 500th Vader, both from classic trilogy, but if they do such update they must be aware of the colors of chestplate and shoulders plates. Itīs time to update Hasbro, made them worth the bucks!!

The Original Trilogy / How did Jabba the Hutt get so much power?
« on: August 1, 2008, 10:09 PM »
In OT we learnt Jabba is wealthy, has a lot of henchmen, guards, ships, he can hire bounty hunters
But how did he summon so much power? The hutts have no legs, only hands, I wonder if Nal Hutta Technology was very advanced before the Hutts entered in Tatoine.

In EU other Hutts show that level of wealth, and are protected by many henchmen too.

Are all the Hutts wealthy on Nall Hutta, so they accumulate enough money to hire warriors and live in palaces? Does Nal Hutta produce natural resources that generate this wealth?

The Hutt appaearence suggets that they canīt fight properly against biped species in the galaxy. We can assume they have strenght due to their weight, and they can handle blasters and arpoons.

Come on share your opinions about the power of Jabba and his relatives.

It was a time for speculation before the internet times, but it also was a time for learning. For example I wondered what were the  species of Greedo, Hammerhead, walrusman, since 1995 we get their names and races. It was a time for competition among fans, you had to prove at school that star wars is really better fiction than star trek, gallactica and so on.

It was a time for collecting, and we wondered how much our toys will evolve, I think we couldnīt fancy the degree of realism achieved in Tac, LEGACY collections.

It WAS a time for sharing games with friends, cousins, and to fancy what will happen to Luke, Han and Leia at the end of Rotj.

I Think Star WARS Ot was our Iliad and Odissey.

We saw tunisian morocco people on Mos Eisley streets, like the Ronto and jawas scene with the swoop bike, the empire negotiates with Lando in esb, this is a point when they consider his rank as Baron Administrator, but Empire should not be considered racists or sexist, because expanded Univers show pilots like Juno Eclipse, officers like Admiral Daala, I thinks the clones became from different sources, probably Jango is the main, if so the surname Fett sound arabic, and Temeura Morrison has polinesian roots, besides Jango could look like an arab, Persian, this is why the empire canīt be such racist. The hope for this saga that literature men like me try to link to the ILIAD and Odissey is to recreate by its reading a society of total interaction of living being, of complete participation of humans, no mather race, color, names. The epics are fundational they show the relationship of a principal city or country with other people, these relations are war, trading, travel, diplomacy.
In SW universe we face a civilization beyond ours, more advanced, with a mayor development of communications, such a civilization must have superate the barrier of racism.

As stated in anh visual guides on starwars.com last 2007, both Praji and Jir families of imperial officers have donated genetic templates for Imperial stormtrooper development programs. So in the case of see an unmasked stormie Jango head wonīt be the unique avaiable face for this kind of trooper.

This would be the base to expand the range of characters variations in Expanded Universe Comics and of course a motif for variations in heads for future Hasbro stormtroopers, sandtroopers, etc.

In TFU we learn a variety of ranks of stormies according to the color of their armor. Other reason to suppose that variation in heads is the armor of st used by Bren and Dellis Tantor in Force Commander video game. So if to wear an armor a man donīt need to be a clone, this will be the source for head variations.

It would be a challenge for HASBRO, imagine what will happen if they release a Darth Vader with removable helmet showing David Prowse or Bob Andersonīs head?
More, a Boba Fett with removable blaster and Jeremy Bullock's head?
They could bring the head of formers stormtrooper and sandtroopers actors, the original cast
as a variaton for stormies,
All could be playeable, wanted for collectors, good sculpted.....

Come on share your opinions gently. :)

neat! good pulse.

Darth Tyranus developped force lighting power in 10 years time, but Darth Vader spent 24 years with Palpatine and he didnīt acquire that skill. We can suppose it is due to the bionic or cyborg implants, both hands arenīt natural.

But In SWTFU, Vader Secret apprentice developped force lighting power, well probably because he has all his natural parts. A small incongruence with the Sw facts could be Vader throwing force lighting.

But Vader, Anakin a powerful sith, former jedi must have alternative to equal this lack of force lighting

He overcome Palpatine in Rotj with an Herculean feat, lifting the emperor and sending him to the DS2 reactor.

Please share your opinions about the acquisition of force lighting among sith.
