2016 New York Comic Con
« on: October 5, 2016, 05:21 PM »
Looks like we don't have a thread for this yet...

Tomorrow is Hasbro's panel at NYCC.  Should be interesting to see if there is any more that will be revealed before the movie... definitely sounds like there is more 3.75" and 6" in the pipeline, just a matter of when they are going to reveal it.

2016 NYCC Panel details:

October 06, 2016, 12:15 PM - 1:15 PM (ET)
Room 1A21
Join members of the Hasbro Star Wars team as they discuss the ever popular Hasbro Star Wars line that hit shelves this fall! Attendees will get an in-depth look at Hasbro's latest action figure offerings with a look at new product coming later this year.

There's also the Hasbro press/PR party tonight.  I've been in touch with friends who are on their way to it right now.  So there may be some tidbits popping up on social media in the next hour or two.

This was a nice teaser for what's going to come tomorrow.  And I think Hasbro wanted to show off the interactive features of the AT-ACT, too.  This was the right forum to do that.

I don't know why, but I'm really really liking the Rogue One figures.

Well, I know why - because it feels more OT than TFA did... that's why.

Snippets from the Q&A, courtesy of Star Wars Action News =(click the link for all their Q&A posts)

- another 6" scale vehicle next year
- they'd rather weather a character than a weapon
- no plans for SWRebels cartoon characters in Walmart 3.75" Black Series
- more than 5POA is something they wrestle with but 5POA provides best balance between sculpt, deco, POA and price.
- nothing to add on the 40th Anniversay teases/rumors
- trying to standardize the 6" Black Series figure peg holes
- more will be revealed at Toy Fair

Vader's head still doesn't look right.

Fingers crossed for a 6" Hover Tank!

Admiral Raddish looks fun, though hands are bit humanoid for his species.

Cuz he's a grey-green skinned polar region Mon Cal, which are apparently slightly different from the red-pink tropical region Mon Cal guys we've seen before.

(not making that up either]

That might also be the angle - seems like they might still be kind of webbed.  I always thought that of the feet though - seems funny that mon cal feet fit into human size boots.

Pretty cool lineup!  Definitely excited to see Admiral Raddus in the lineup.  They only revealed his name a few days ago, but I've been wondering about his character ever since we first saw him in the SWCE sizzle reel.  The color of the tunic looks slightly off from the image we saw of the character in that shot with Gareth Edwards, but it's still interesting to see this kind of diversity among the Mon Calamari, and that they appear to be such a vital group of contributors to the Rebellion.

It's funny to look at the Shoretroopers in this era of the Empire.  Simply because the markings on their armor are so reminiscent of the individuality that was expressed in armor and markings during the Clone Wars era.  But one thing that may be at work there is that these troopers are under the command of Director Krennic.  Some of the backstory of Krennic is that his military career dates back to the Clone Wars, and he may be something of a holdout from that era with some individuality that flies in the face of the uniform style of the Empire.

The Death Trooper Specialist is interesting.  But seeing how we have a version of this trooper on the way in the WalMart 3.75" Black Series?  I may pass on this version.

As for the Bodhi Rook figure?  Eh...  Something about the likeness seems off.  And that backpack looks not so good.

The 6" figure line continues to look pretty amazing.  And it's cool to see the level of attention that they've paid to this version of Darth Vader.

I'm planning to pick up a few because a) they are a bit cheaper than Walmart 3.75" version and b) knowing Walmart, I'm not going to find as many of the Walmart TBS 3.75" version as I want. :P

Loved Admiral Raddus from the second I saw him (like most of what I've seen of RO) so glad to see him. I'm a huge fan of the aliens in this film and even more so, a fan that Hasbro has covered them pretty well so far. The only exception to this point is Bistan, who I have to think is coming soon. I expect he'll be in a two pack with some giant gun accessory as he's the gunner. More than likely he'll come with the Scarif Stormtrooper Captain who we saw for the first time today.

Speaking of Scarif Stormtroopers - Jesse mentioned on Twitter also how unique these guys are. I find them very PTish too and there seems to be some real possibility we will see some real PT nods here which is great. I like the idea of Krennic not being a renegade so much as a loose cannon who has sort of ensconced himself in the hierarchy of the Empire without ever relinquishing the pomp and circumstance of the late Republic (his cape, his personal retinue of Death Troopers, the Shore Troopers).

Love the 6 inch stuff. Vader looks great.
