Until I decide if I'm going back to carded collecting on these, I have no way to know if I want them or not...
I am loving the vintage-esque soft goods on the new Zuckuss though. Really hope they can get him out in the basic line and not just this box set.
-
I'm tempted to try and get these.
-
I'm all over this set.
Great idea to make older (not that much older I guess) figures new.
-
I'd really like to have seen the Zuckuss (the alien, not the droid screw-up) in person to have decided a little better. I'm pretty tempted too though.
This thing's so 100% for the collector world though, it's hard to knock it.
-
I'm actually kinda excited about this pack. I'm definitely going to try to buy three online when they go up on the web during Celebration V.
-
pass here probably - I don't imagine this to be cheap and I just bought these characters not too long ago. Zuckuss does look nice but not enough for me to bite at him again.
-
The pictures look like the figures have vintage deco...no?
-
I'm all over this set as well. Great idea that I'll certainly pick up.
-
Glad to see the Zuckass has the old school cloak. Very cool!
I am probably going to get 2 sets to have one to open.
-
Might have to get two of these, one to keep carded and one to open. I know these two are repacks but the Zuckuss has a new cloak... :-\
-
I will totally be buying two - did not see Zuckuss has the vintage-esque cloak. I wish they had done that for the version out there now.

Had they done that, we would have less reason to buy the new one. ;) I will likely get one set for opening - not sure if I'll splurge on a second set. It's a neat idea, but I'm still sour on Exclusives.
-
True that. ;)
-
Was there a price point listed for this set?
-
This set is very tempting. Would love to get the 2 bounty hunters in the vintage paint jobs/cloaks, but I'm worried about the pricing.
-
I will get 2 sets of them. I really like the cape on Zuckuss

I am in the same boat here with getting two sets. This will be $19.99-$24.99 so it will not be atrocious but add the shipping and it gets expensive unless you can clump your order.
-
A reminder to all of you thinking of buying an opener of what is likely to be a more expensive exclusive set -
Remember that the vintage deco 4-LOM in the set is the same one that is already coming in Vintage Wave 1 (only difference is the correct "4-LOM" name on the card). Since they are going to the trouble of creating a "vintage" deco Zuckuss for this set, I would not be surprised to see him slipped into the basic figure line-up too at some point (on a corrected "Zuckuss" card).
The point of the set is the "true" Kenner cards (with the mixed up names). Just don't want to see a bunch of people buy up this exclusive to open and then turn around and get ticked when the figures show up cheaper in the basic figure line...

"You ask the impossible." :-X
-
I will only get one set because of the high price. I am definately looking forward to this pack though. Too much vintage goodness there. It's almost a must buy for me really.

That's a good tip. Thanks Jeff!
-
Thanks, Jeff. I'll definitely wait then. If they're already making the card designs for the error 2-pack, then it would make sense for them to release them separately corrected.
-
Awesome! I want them!

See I remember reading this somewhere earlier, but the only reason I'm even considering an opener is because of the Zuckuss. If he isn't released in the basic line, I'll have to get a second of this set just to have a loose Zuckuss with the awesome cape. THAT'S what would make me ticked off. :P
-
Seems like this 2 guys are the last step in Zucluss and 4 Lom evolution.
Only a Zuckuss which shows his real face beneath his mask could be the ultimate step
as it happens with the 3 parts mask helmet Vader for vintage collection, which reisues the evolution vader body.

Time to annoy everyone... Turns out that I got some mis-information in the showroom - sorry! :-[
I sent an email to Hasbro to clarify since I was getting some conflicting info PMs from folks and they confirmed that the info I got in the showroom was wrong - the plan as it stands right now is that the "Kenner" decos will only be available in the C-V set.... for now.
4LOM in Wave 1 should have the 2007 deco, 4LOM in the C-V exclusive set should have the Kenner deco. Same for Zuckuss. If (when) he makes it to the basic line, he'll most likely have the 2009 deco and not this vintage deco...
Sory again for confusing everyone! Too much ToyFair info packed into my head in a short timespan I guess...

That would have been too good to be true. Thanks the clarification though, Jeff.

So we're getting Kenner deco 4-LOM and Zuckuss. That's cool, I can dig it, I thought the colors on the TLC Zuckuss were weak anyway. But what about Kenner deco Boba Fett? (And no, Rocket Fett doesn't count.)
-
I really wish they would have went with Vintage Deco Fett instead of repro Fett for the Mailaway figure...oh well
-
Isn't this vintage line on tap for at least the next two years? I'm sure they'll see the outcry from the collector community and slot Fett in somewhere...maybe? I must be in the minority (who doesn't have a complete vinty collection) who's actually happy about the repro Fett. :-\

I thought most people on here were in favor of a repro rocket Fett (myself included). I'm not as in favor of the craptastic removeable helmet and suck paint job shown in that thread though. :P
-
By the reaction at the event, I think the majority like the repro vintage fett over a modern Fett getting a vintage deco (which I'd buy as well, but I'm less interested in only because this piece at least applies, in some capacity, to my actual vintage collection).
People at the show seemed kind of geeked on the rocket firing Fett when presented with it though.

Was the new desert deco paint scheme and jango head shown at the show? I'd love to get the prototype image we saw, but am much less excited about this after seeing the revised paint job and silly jango head underneath.

As far as I'm aware that's a custom... The image in the Hasbro slide is what we're getting. It's a completely new tool that tried (as hard as they could) to stay to the original... It's not exact though and Hasbro was sure to point that out (which should limit fraud some too).
That would be this:

Yeah, the figure pictured in that post is the poster's own custom figure (http://www.thecustomalliance.com/photo.asp?image=hruby/ph-boba-holiday.jpg) and has nothing to do with what we're getting in the fett mail-away or (to get this back on topic :P) the Zuckuss/4LOM C-V exclusuive set.

Whew! Okay, thanks for clearning that up for me. No offense to the CA, but I would so much rather get the one in true vintae colors.
Back to Zuckuss/4LOM...can anyone tell me if the loose Zuckuss being offered here (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=370331121384&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT) is likely the same as the upcoming exclusive?
-
It is listed as "tlc exclusive" - and has different paint apps than the TAC version - so, from what I can tell from the presentation slide pics - this one does appear to be the same to me as the one in the upcomming ewxclusive pack.
-
I just assume at somepoint they will add a modern Fett with vintage deco. They love shoving out all sorts of Fetts at us. Probably because a lot of people are like me and buy them. I think they will do it eventually. I thought they would just go ahead and do them all this year but maybe not?
-
Being that I come from the "newer" generation (:P), I had to look up the error cards in Rebelscum's Photo Archives. It was quite interesting to read up, and it's also a cool little piece of history. I wonder what Hasbro's going to put as far as info on the back card(s) of the pack.
-
Yakface has pics (http://www.yakface.com/TGuide2004/html/TVC/exclusives/BHset.html) of this set, and I reeeeeeally want one now.
-
Aren't these for sale now at some e-tailers? I think Brian's
Exorbitant Prices Toy's has them.
Has anyone ordered these yet?

Yes BT has them (where I got mine), but it is the Jedi-Con version, the only difference being the sticker on the slipcase. I imagine the CV version will have something similar.
-
I did not know BT had these I would have ordered, his price was very reasonable. Feebay has these around $60-$70 so I can wait until C5. This set looks great! I really hope they do more like it, I love the concept.
-
I checked a bit ago and BT is of course, sold out now. ::)
Yeah, I'd pay $29.99 for this too. Damn!
-
Damn i would have bought them too, didnt even know they had a version that were out already.

Seriously, I missed that as well. Look at it this way a nice chunk of demand was satisfied so there should be enough to go around.
-
Funny. I saw the $30 price this weekend, then thought I'd check here to see if it was a good price before ordering. Whoops.

I got my set in and enjoy the vintage cards much more than i thought i would. They look great and do remind me of my childhood.
-
I think I may order this from Brian's Toys. How much will this be at C5? does anyone know?

From the Hasbro Q&A in SWAN Podcast #240 (http://www.swactionnews.com/Podcasts/SWAN240.MP3): "we do not see this being priced above $19.99"

Thanks!
Maybe I will wait, I want two sets.
-
This is probably one of the only Star Wars items I'd leave carded, very nice presentation.
-
It definitely looks spiffy, yet I can't help but wonder if the hobby is starting to devour its own young, so to speak, when we're at the point of issuing exclusives commemorating 30-year-old packaging errors.
But maybe I'm too young to really get the appeal. POTF2 generation repreezent.
-
It's at a point where star wars needs a reboot.
-
I look at it as celebrating Star Wars collecting lore. Besides, it's not without precedent...remember the ROTS Early Bird packs?
-
Yes and I remember having similar thoughts then. :P
So ... white gown Leia, Tatooine Luke, R2-D2, and Chewie. Big ******' whoopy doo. The only thing that remotely appeals is what appears to be a telescoping saber.
Like I said, I think I'm just too young to view this as anything other than a gimmick. Probably when they come out with the orange-card POTF2 replicas in 2015, I'll be all over it. :o
-

I was just browsing the Celebration V exclusives flyer and it said this thing is gonna be 14.99. Same as the Camie/Fixer set. Not too shabby.

Wow, I hope that's right. $15 sounds great!
-
if thats the case I just may pick it up after all when I order the comic pack.
-
Now up for order on HTS!
-
Ordered my two sets! ;D
-
Ordered, but from SWS. Shipping was a few bucks cheaper than HTS, and no sales tax.
-
Ordered, 1 set w/promocode COMIC2010 - total $21.49. Much cheaper than I would have paid on eBay.
had great luck with my last order from HTS...could be here as soon as Saturday. Monday for sure. Aw yeah!
-
Saved a $1000.00 right there by not having to go all the way to CV for a couple "explusive" figures ;)
-
It looks like Hasbro finally decided this year that there's no justifying overpriced exclusives... SDCC Maul/Owen, 4-LOM/Zuckuss, Camie/Fixer, all for a cheap $14.99. Now THAT'S a fair deal! ;D
-
Order two of both sets for both me and a friend - nice to have these out of the way now...
-
SW2010 took 10% off too...
-
Not much interested on either count here.
-
Skipped these... happily. I've spent enough lately, and am trying to spread the 8/6 stuff out a little bit. This, I'll happily pass on, and if I see it real cheap down the road I might pick it up just for the variety of it.
-
I got two of them. I didn't have vintage Zuckuss and I got the vintage 4-LOM in the mail-a-way and I appreciate the homage to the "error".
-
My set arrived via Fed Ex today, an excellent addition to my collection. I love that they used an older Zuckuss sculpt rather than the one that was just issued recently. Much closer to the vintage original.
-
ummm its the same sculp as the one in TLC. just different soft goods and paint apps
-
Fair enough, it does not look like the one I bought last year, but maybe so. At least it's different from an aesthetic standpoint.
-
Got mine yesterday, for some reason I have a hard time wanting to rip these open. Love the vintagesque soft goods on "4-LOM" I think I'll have to though for Collect All 92! :P

I got mine on Wednesday, and thought the same thing. I have a hard time opening these up as well, still debating on that one.
-
That's why I got two.
-
Got my set today. Love the packaging. Never planned on opening it in the first place, but I might try and track down a loose set in the future.
