Watto's Junk Yard / Re: New Years Plans?
« on: December 29, 2004, 01:37 AM »
I think my brother should be coming to town for New Year's Eve, so I imagine we'll hang around the house and basically talk about our collections.  Me: Star Wars; Bro: Movie Maniacs, etc.  So we'll relax and consume some Crown Royal.  I'm sure that my wifey will come up with a more formal plan, but that one works for me!

Vintage Kenner / Re: vintage variation list

That is an inredible list!  It will certainly prove to be a valuable resource to me (and obviously many others) in the future.   8)

I'm not yet actively collecting vintage figures, but am soaking up as much information as I can for when I do jump in.  Thanks for the info!

Here's me and my daughter, Emily, celebrating our Christmas bounty.

Happy holidays!

Merry Christmas one and all!  Once again, I've been spoiled under the tree, but we're only half way through opening presents.  Tee hee!  (I'm online because we're taking a break from all of the gift opening action because my wife went to go deliver a baby - she doesn't even get a holiday on Christmas!   :))

Well, obviously GG has heard about the stink that is being raised by this:

Philip posed this at the scum:

FYI: From Gentle Giant:

In the spirit of the holiday season, this item was created as a gift for certain extended members of the Gentle Giant business family. We at Gentle Giant do not view this item as a part of our ongoing Star Wars mini bust collection, and we apologize if you view it as such. We hope that you will continue to collect the pieces in our collection that bring you enjoyment.

Answers to FAQ:
This holiday gift will not be made available for purchase through any outlet in the future.
No announcements have been made regarding a Sandtrooper mini bust and any information you may hear regarding one from sources other than Gentle Giant should be treated as speculation at best and falsehood at worst.

Gentle Giant will not be announcing specific details (recipients, etc.) regarding the gift at any time.

I guess knowing that it's not an "official" makes it easier to accept.  But just knowing that it's out there...

There's just something Canadian about bitching about the weather.  It must be our national pasttime.   ;)

So, I'll proceed:  currently -29o::)
But the cold snap should be over soon!
-14oc tomorrow and -2oc for Xmas.  More importantly, the wind seems to be leaving us alone now.   :)

Vintage Kenner / Re: Action Figure Display Diorama SWShop

Now that has got to be one of the coolest ideas they've had in a very long time.  What a tribute to the vintage line.  I love it!   :D

HOWEVER.... $70US?  How can they possibly justify that price?  :(

Definitely a scary situation.  Ebay can be so unpredictable as it is, so you'd think it would be safe to trust the ebayers that have proven to be reliable.  It's scary when even the guys that have been so honest in the past suddenly turn (whether intentional or not) and screw over even 1 person, much less the growing numbers in this case.   :-\

Hmmm... You know, I've never really thought about landed vs flight mode.  Very interesting.  I see now what you mean, if the ship is in action, it only makes sense to have someone piloting it.

In the past, I was never really excited about the Gunship, even how it looked in the movie.  But now that I've seen it in this form, I've really grown to like how they look.  Nice:

I've been keeping an eye on this thread for a while.  Very uncool.  I'm a little off topic, but I was wondering if he was telling the truth about PayPal complaints causing NeoToys account to be locked.  Does making a formal complaint with PayPal actually slow down the refund process?  (assuming he actually had any intent to refund people)

Wow.  Code 3 continues to amaze me with these.  I think the figures are a neat idea, but if I do ever get it (I hear you Matt and Dale), I'd probably display it without the figures.  I don't know, they almost seem to distract your eye from the ship.
