Revenge of the Sith / Who's First?
« on: March 18, 2005, 03:18 PM »
OK, so it's about 1:30 am on April 2 and you're home from Midnight Madness with anyhwhere from 25-40 new figures.  Who do you open first?

I'm not too sure how I'll go about this.  For kicks I opened the E1 figures aphabetically. For Saga, I opened the cruddy ones first, saving the better ones for last.

Maybe I'll do it by height this time!

That's awesome!  I would love to have 650.00 bucks to spend on a novelty item.  Very creative, and very funny.

Revenge of the Sith / Holo Yoda?
« on: March 16, 2005, 10:15 AM »
After hearing all the hoops that one has to jump through to get the Lavader, does anyone have any info on how the Holo Yoda will be made available?  Hopefully, it will just be on the pegs at TRU like the rest of the figs on 4/2.

Well, it's mid March and we have yet to hear of, and see, anything new.

Who knows, maybe Hasbro will wait until next week to roll out the new stuff while season 3 is on.

Not to spoil anything, but I don't think we actually see Owen and Beru.  They are mentioned, and I belive we see Obi-Wan heading towards the homestead.

On closer inspection, the only thing that kind of bums me out is the Neimodian Soldier's gun is huge, and it looks like it fires a missle.

But I really like that the Senators come with guns!

WOW!  What  a fan-frickin-tastic picture!  I love how it looks like a real "collection," and not just a bunch of random, differently produced figures.  I'm so, so excited about these toys right now.  I don't have time to look for anything leaking right now,  but I will be first in line on 4/2!

Those figures look really good.  I'm glad that they put the "slit" on the side of Kit's skirt so that he can raise his legs.

Also, I do think that Rebescum guys are just pulling everything apart randomly.

I really don't think that 3PO ends up in pieces in ROTS.

Boy, you probably have to pay a stripper a fortune to dance at 10:00 in the morning!

Watto's Junk Yard / Stay at Home Dads?
« on: February 27, 2005, 10:44 PM »
Hey.  I'm going to keep this short and sweet.  Any Stay at Home Dads out there?

Our first baby, Declan, was born on Oct 1, and wifey went back to work in Jan.  I'm still employed, but I sta with the baby during the day, and work at home from about 6:30 to midnight.

It would be great to chat with another Star Wars obsessed dad!

I knew back in 1979 when the pictures of the Creature Cantina showed up in the Sears catalog and I knew there would be "more" Star Wars figures past the first 12.

I used to run home everyday from school just to stare at the Sears catalog.

Little did I know that "more" meant somehwere in the 800s.

Now, I'm not a TPM basher at all.  I find the film totally flawed, but very, very original and visionary.  That siad, if Jar-Jar had been replaced with Cap'n Tarpels through the whole movie, I think it would have been great.

I hadn't realized until the other dat that April 2 is a Saturday.  That means that MM will happen on a Friday night.  This is nice for those who have to get up early for work, but I'm worreied that it will bring out the "amatuers."

On the other hand, it might bring out some more kids.

LandotheScoundrel and I went in 2005, and we had a very good time.  I'm hoping we can do the same this year.

Revenge of the Sith / Re: 2005 RotS Figures Release List
« on: February 24, 2005, 11:42 AM »
Last time, I made sure to get all of the standard figures during Midnight Madness.  You will never know who will be rare in  a few days.  However, ships and beasts and deluxe figures will always sit on the shelves.  During the summer of '02, I bought one ship or beast or whatever each week. It made it more fun having stuff to buy while searching for newer waves.
