i asked this seller jackofradze what piece i need to drill out a luke head and he replied:FIGURE IT OUT YOURSELF!
-
Well, that's pretty rude. Got a link to that auction?
I don't want to start a bashing thread though, as most ebay customizers I've had communication with are very nice.

he is a poster here.

Hmmm... I have no idea who he is.

That is too bad. I've also had good exeprience communicating with eBay customizers.

Starkid - on the drilling out of the head, do you have a dremel? As long as the bit isn't too large you should be able to make the hole the desired size. Just be careful when using a dremel.

thanks for the tip and i thought it was a specific piece.

How do you all feel about people that customize and then sell their pieces on ebay anyways? I must say, a lot of the ones I saw were simple boil-pop-repaints and some were just plain hideous! I'm not trying to downplay the efforts it took to make these by anyone, but most of them were selling for upwards 20 bucks and higher! It certainly looks very inviting mainly to pay for expensive molding and casting supplies. What do you all think?

Well, sometimes they go for too much just because it's a clone or Jedi, then I see someone make a custom that really has a lot of work go into it that doesn't go for too much, which leaves me scratching my head.
As for the seller that apparently was rude to you starkid, just brush it off your shoulder, don't worry about it. We'll offer you advice here anytime. Besides, he doesn't post here in the customizing section from what I've seen, but has made some nice customs. He might be a really nice guy, but I don't know why someone would ever act that way when someone asks for help, but I've seen a customizer at Scum do that before. He used to post his work, then when people would ask how he did it, he wouldn't tell because he said that would take away from what he could get on ebay. That was pretty sad. I haven't seen him post in a long time there now though.
I've sold a few customs on ebay before, but usually had them for sale here first and always offer advice if someone has a question. Sometimes it's just easier to go on ebay to sell a few things rather than in a classifieds section because it's hard to keep up with 5-10 different people sending you PM's back and forth. So I don't have a problem with people selling their customs or their collections on ebay at all. When they buy up new figures at retail to try and make a buck on ebay though, that's where I get disgusted. Like seeing so many new SAGA2 Sandtroopers on there makes me sick.

you guys are heros

That Luke does look really familure.

How do you know he's a member here?
Why didn't you just ask your customizing question in the forums?
In my experience, most folks who sell their customs like a small business are douchebags. The custom is nice, but his response (or lack thereof, really) is pretty much par for the course.
By the way... I think it's pretty lame when a seller includes the names of HTF figure's name to the product title just to get more hits.
