Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Are You Dressing Up?
« on: November 1, 2006, 04:20 PM »
My wife was a Crime Scene Investigator complete with CSI shirt, hat, and crime scene kit.  Me?  I was a chalk outline of a dead guy.  I even had two bullet holes in the head and a "Crime Scene" yellow tape sash.

Amazing.  I've stopped posting at RS except for the Local Finds section.  The forums were getting too bloated with useless posts and took too long to wade through.  I long in from time to time, but nowhere near the amount I used to.

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Everything Wal-Mart

I only use Wal-Mart for SW exclusives or items I can't find anywhere else.  And let me tell you, that's VERY few items.  I give Wal-Mart as little of my money as possible.

Fat chicks need love too.

But they gotta pay. ;)

Not with me, they don't.  ;) I actually own a shirt that says "Gone Hoggin' " on it, and, well, make of that what you will.

Nice to see we have a couple of posters here that respect people based on how they act, not on how they look.   ::)

But anyway...I do not tolerate infidelity.  Once any intimate contact occurs, it's over.  No seconds chances.  There are too many other folks in the world to have a healthy relationship with than to have to tolerate a cheating spouse.  And my wife feels the same way.

But I think it was important to watch, especially for half this country, so we really understand what it is that we're up against with radical muslim extremists.

Which half?

Here's something I found on imdb:

"He tells his camera crew to always be filming. If he needs help, he will ask for it. Even if he is eaten by a shark or croc, the main thing he wants is that it be filmed. If he died, he would be sad if no one got it on tape."

I wonder if something will show up on youtube tomorrow...

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Tattoos -- Love 'Em or Hate 'Em?
« on: August 30, 2006, 04:28 PM »
I don't have one and don't think I'll ever get one for many of the reasons already listed (I don't like anything enough to have it permanently on me, blood donations, etc.).  If people want one, that's great.  But my advice is:

1)  Put it some place that it CAN be covered in public.  For some job interviews you don't want it showing.  Conversely, if it is showing some place obvious (face, hand, etc.) and you apply for a conservative or public facing job, you make not get hired or you make be asked to keep it covered.
2)  Get it touched up every few years.  Nothing looks worse than a tatoo that is all faded.
3)  Don't put it some place where the skin might sag (i.e. breast).  Trust me.  I saw a woman the other week with a butterfly tatooed on her upper breast and it didn't look good.
4)  For those of you who are religiously inclined, some religions will not allow you to be buried in a certain cemetary if you have tatoos (Jewish).  So make sure you don't plan to convert anytime soon.

2 - people who drive tiny penis cars and pull all the way forward, making the space look empty from the lot entrance.

I believe it's what's referred to as a "Farking Space" = Fake Parking Space.  I drive a Mini Cooper S so I create Farking Spaces all the time.  And I don't feel bad at all about doing it.

Yesterday I was in a parking lot where two guys riding harleys had them parked.  They were perfectly centered in the parking stalls.  They had come out of the store to see that some ass had parked his/her SUV over the parking stall line and next to one of the bikes.  The rider was extremely upset and began doing things to the SUV like playing with their rear view mirrors.  I almost went over to help him out.  I'd be pissed too if someone parked like that.

I also found out that my grandfather-in-law lays on his horn when he sees someone driving while talking on a mobile phone.  Heh.  Great minds think alike...

My current count is:

2 cats (Max and Dali)
2 rats (Frick and Frack)
1 guinea pig (May)

And yes, they all get along.

I'm the manager/supervisor/lead of the Quality Assurance department for a software company in Washington State.  Not THE software company so many people know about, just A software company.  It's a good gig and I like being the boss.

You've got to be frickin' kidding me.  Damn it Hasbro!  I already got one.  Why couldn't you have fixed this before releasing the wave?

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Most hours you've worked in a week...
« on: August 9, 2006, 06:55 PM »
Hmmmm....I can't remember the exact hours I worked, but back in college I worked as a manger of a tuxedo rental store.  Come prom season I had to put in 12 hour days (it was grad school so my class hours were flexible).  Some days I'd start at 10 am and not leave until 10 pm.  All day long was taking orders and measuring people for tuxedos.

The longest stretch I've worked without a break is 10 days.  By day 7 you get a little loopy.

I really hope that they make a Bespin Wave in 2008 that consists of:

Luke Skywalker (Medical Frigate)
Princess Leia (Medical Frigate)
Lando Calrissian (Smuggler's Gear)

Why these haven't been made yet I have no idea.  I'd think these figures would be no brainers.  Heck, give us the Luke, Leia, R2, and 3PO in a box set looking out the window from the Frigate.  I'd buy that...

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Harry Potter
« on: August 9, 2006, 03:42 PM »
That's actually a pretty good theory.  It fits with the prophecy and with what Dumbledore said about Harry having some of Voldemort's traits in Chamber of Secrets.

Well I thank you.  I guess I have to wait until next year to see if my guess is correct.  But there has to be a reason why it was repeated over and over that Harry was fighting dark tendancies.  Also, remember in book 1 when the Sorting Hat said he'd do just as well in Slytherin?  But then we'd have an evil Harry Potter and the books wouldn't be as fun...

When did it become acceptable for people to bring their little yippy dogs with them everywhere?  I love dogs, but is it necessary to bring them to Lowe's, Walmart, Target & Home Depot?  It seems like everytime I turn around someone's got a dog in their purse or their buggy.

I actually had a conversation with an employee at my optomotrist about this the other week.  She blames Petsmart for starting this trend.  Since they made it ok to bring pets into the store, some moronic pet owners now think it's alright to take them anywhere.  I never thought I'd see the day where I'd walk into my local hardware store to a sign that reads "No Pets."

It's gotten so bad that my wife and I have now decided to complain to every store manager when we see a pet in a store they shouldn't be in.  Went to Safeway on Saturday and saw a lady with her rat-dog in the store.  That's pretty much when we decided enough is enough.  If you complain, something will get done about it.
