Well other than his vac metal appearance I call meh. I still want it though ;D
So Wonder Festival next month on the 25th.
-
I second that meh...
-
I can pass on that one unless its relatively cheap.
-
If it turns out to be like last year's Winter Wonder Chewbacca, it should be pretty cheap (relatively speaking of course)...
-
I wonder if his head will also be removable??? And surely he has to come with a net of some sort so Chewie can carry him around...
-
3PO is up on Medicom's site this AM. Definitely at WonderFestival in July.
Looks like he will be limited to 1000 pieces (500 at the show, 500 on-line via Medicom's store). So yeah, he should end up in the same price-range as Chewie hopefully.
-
I might nab him if I can find a $35-40 price tag. Kind of a cool nod to the vintage version IMHO.
-
Does he come with a net?
-
I definitely want. Medicom is sure on a kick though these past couple years with the multiple versions of the same character: C-3PO, Chewy, Jango, Boba, R2. :-\

Since the head is not a limb nor did the head come off the Vintage removable limb 3PO, I would bet not. I do hope he comes with the cargo net as well.
-
There's no mention of a net/bag in the solicit... but given Medicom's love of all things Kenner, you almost have to expect some sort net. I wouldn't put it past them to do one that's almost exactly like the old Kenner version.

WonderFest Summer 2010 Carded C-3PO (Removable Limbs)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Q9U7210pSo
-
OMG, he killed 3-PO... you basturds! :D
-
It would be better if the limbs were removed on the card and each had their own bubble. This is just a carded c-3po with a vac metal paint job.
Disappointment reigns supreme!
-
Agreed, it would look much better if it was exploded out a bit. Make it look different from the 3PO from S3 carded one thats just been released.
-
Thanks for the link Captain!
I like how it looks, that vac metal is the best finish by a long shot. I just don't know that I want to spend $50-60 to get my 4th OT threepio.
With no net, this may end up coming in a box set with Chewie at some point too.
-
I think the card looks great, but I too would have liked to see the figure in pieces on the card... along with the net. Also, if this was supposed to be the ESB Bespin threepio, shouldn't it have been less shiny and have blaster scoring? The vac-metal deco is fantastic, but it's out of place in terms of what part of the Trilogy it represents.
And to Dan's point, to go along with our fourth threepio, I'm sure we will be getting our fifth Chewbacca soon that will come with a net for goldenrod...
-
I'm happy about this figure. I've wanted a shiny regular sized Threepio ever since I saw the 400%er. But yeah, all the limbs on all my Kubs are already removable, this one's no different. :)

So can we expect any new Star Wars kubrick info/pictures out of Wonderfest??? Does Medicom typically have a display/make announcements at this show???

So have I but having now seen it on the card I'm not that excited lol
It's still a nice addition to my carded collection though :)

Who did you guys order from and how much were they?

I ended up getting mine through Tokyo Hunter. He charged me $70 shipped for EMS shipping. Considering that it's a convention figure and it's the vac-metal version, I thought it was fair. Who knows what the prices will look like in a few months though...
-
I went with Tokyo Hunter too. Mine was $58/£37 though because I chose SAL shipping. I got the WF carded Chewie from him too and it survived SAL so I thought I'd save a few pounds again.
-
I bought the Chewie from him last year but I forgot all about him and lost his info.
-
Just recieved my 3PO yesterday and I have to admit I'm really impressed. The vac metal finish is excellent. I'm really tempted to open this one but trying to resist.

If that happens, hopefully his bowcaster is a new mold. Of all the excellent blaster molds, the bowcaster really looks silly.
-
Does anybody have a spare one of these they want to sell? I was about to open my carded one today, but just couldn't do it. Looking for an opener, so card condition does not matter...
-
Is this (http://store.shopping.yahoo.co.jp/project1-6/kubricksno330.html) worth a try?
I see they go for about $90 on ebay these days, a far cry from what we paid initially and what the silver one is going for.
-
IF I could buy without fees thta might be worth it. Thanks for the tip.
I decided to send an offer to meimei_625 for his Carded R2 and Carded Threepio. I want a spare of each and he had them at $95. I offered $80 and he went $85 with free shipping...........SOLD!
That was fast. Man, I'm such an addict.
-
I think that was a carded TC-14, not C-3PO, wasn't it?
-
:-X

I wish I could blame it on booze. I was trying to clean out the storage room and decided I wanted a second threepio. I realized I only had one vac metal R2 as well, so did a search on Ebay for one. When I saw an auction for the R2 and a protocol droid I somehow completely forgot about TC-14 and snatched it up thinking I was so lucky to find an auction with the both the figs I wanted. It's such a ridiculous blunder that I can't even get mad about it.
That said, I do have a spare TC-14 on the way if anyone wants one. :P

WTF is going on here (http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/MEDICOM-KUBRICK-STAR-WARS-C-3PO-Removable-Limbs-LIMITED-EDITION-/150779794850?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item231b2d15a2), I know you were after one of these to open, but they're now more expensive then when they were first released ???

That's actually cheaper than anywhere I was able to find them. I ended up paying $180 for Vac Metal Threepio and a Holo Yoda (which I've been after FOREVER) including shipping from Japan. I thought I overpaid a little, but that was a pretty fair deal given this week's pricing on both figures...
-
Average is $100 & those are Australian ended auctions tho this 1 is a frickn' great price... In the Doghouse for this price (http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Star-Wars-Kubrick-Medicom-Carded-C-3PO-Removable-Limbs-WF-2010-Threepio-/380374837394?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item58901b6892#ht_1583wt_1029)

I set up my searches to subtract corndog some time ago. That reminds me why.

For those wondering how the Vac Metal compares...there really is no comparison. Digging the figure, hating the price.
