Well, you can't say I didn't suggest the mop flip flops (A.K.A. the flip flop mops) (A.K.A. what the **** are you wearing on your feet). Those would definitely have stayed out the test of time.

Vintage Kenner / Re: Definitive release order list?

Personally I've always considered Yak Face as the 96th as the card backs/poster don't show both versions of 3PO and the 3 versions R2 at the same time (bring the total to 96 carded figures).

Ah ha! So you admit he's the last figure!  ;)

Would they not have be released in order by the serial numbers on the packing?

Master List of All FOTW & VOTW Threads

Perfect! That's exactly what I was looking for - thanks!

Well, technically Yak Face wasn't released at all in the U.S., while the Imperial Dignitary was, so I'd side with the Dignitary being released ahead of him. Yak Face is often referred to as the 93rd and final figure, as well.

Thanks, Jayson. I had the same thought as Brent, though. For some reason, the POTF ordering is always the one that seems off.

That would be awesome, if it's not too much trouble - thanks!

I don't know about a list like that, but the release order should be the same as the order they are on the back of the cards.

The card backs are definitely not accurate. For one, they change the order with each new number; beyond that, the order is not remotely linear. For instance, if you went by the 92 back card, the seventh figure released would be FX-7. That's obviously not right.

I don't have Sansweet's book, but I'll see what I can find regarding that.

Vintage Kenner / Definitive release order list?
« on: June 8, 2009, 05:16 PM »
Anyone know of a definitive release order list of the vintage figures? Kellerman's book is pretty comprehensive, but instead of a linear release order, he puts figures like the 3 different R2D2s together in a row, as opposed to the order in which they were actually released. Has anyone put together a list like this? I'm sorta OCD as far as displaying goes - I'd like them to be as "in order" as they can be. Because I'm an idiot.

Thanks in advance.

I rarely leave them on more than maybe 3-4 hours, and they really don't get hot at all. I put two per each DETOLF, but if you've got them close together, as I believe you do, you can just put one per, if you're really worried about heat buildup. I think IKEA sells LED style lighting as well in the same sort of configuration, and those put out little to no heat at all. It's worth looking into, as it really makes them look fantastic.

Thanks!

IKEA BERTBY all the way, and no, not in my kitchen. Those cabinets are cheap - $100 each, plus I think around $20 for the pair of lights that install really easily. They look great and hold up well - I've had them for almost ten years now. I've got another pair next to those with my modern OT stuff, though it's pretty damn cramped in there these days:

I've got the DETOLFs for my Muppets and NBC stuff:

Also great cabinets, though a bit wobbly sometimes. Sometimes when I open the door, the recoil from the magnet uncatching is enough to cause a bunch of figures to fall over. BERTBY is solid, as it's anchored to the wall, but it's not as deep, of course, so it works well for smaller figures. DETOLF is great for the Muppet playsets - the Muppet Show backstage is literally the exact size of one of the DETOLF shelves. It's like it was made for it.

Dale, yours is gorgeous. Hang onto that one!

Got mine yesterday - it's about a nice as I assumed. Here's some pics:

Some rubs on the boots, and a slight one on the left hand. Looks like a dented boot variation. I'm happy with it, really - good deal all around!

Here's the happy family:

That looks to be a good score there, nice job! I'd personally have reservations on buying a Blue Snaggletooth without seeing it in hand - it sounds like as if you're concerned as well. The picture looks good, but considering it was taken on a scanner bed it could be the lighting. Hopefully it will be as good as the picture makes out to be, cause you've a potentially great score here.

I hope so as well - I figured it was worth the price, but I always get paranoid after a good sale on ebay, like maybe there's something I missed.... I'll let y'all know about it when it arrives.

Thanks - I'll be interested to get it in hand, though. I've had a number of ebay grabs that don't look nearly as great as the photos do. The seller in this case looks like they don't really know what they have or what they're worth, and they're selling off a bunch more vintage stuff now, mostly in lots, so if you guys need to fill holes, keep an eye on them.
