Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Spider-Man Joins the Marvel Movie Universe

I think many liked the writing of Soidey's personality in the new films more than they actually like Garfield if they are honest. ASM2 was a mess, but they did  capture the "spirit" of Spidey better than the (admittedly better) McGuire films did.

Chicago's pretty white at the moment.  At least 6-8" down already and projecting blizzard conditions from 4pm - 9pm tonight.  Can easily see 1.5-2' by the time it's all done.

Good luck East coast, it's coming your way next.
It's coming late here to CT. We already have about a foot and a half from last week. I hate snow.

The Black Series 6" Figures / Re: 6" Black Series Rumors
« on: January 5, 2015, 04:23 PM »
According to my personal scale expert (aka Jesse), the Hero Series X-Wing is actually pretty close to perfect scale match for the 3.75" figures -

29 Inches long on this ship means it's actually 1/17 scale, almost on the nose.  Star Wars figures range anywhere from 1/17 to 1/20 (the newer more lean to 1/20).

I'd say he's right.  I put some action figures out with this thing (my son got it for his birthday), and they look close.  WAY to small to be 6" scale.

Part of me wonders what a 2.5" scale line would look like with ships made to accurate scale.  That BMF (while awesome) is still under-scaled, though not as bad as the 78 version.  BUT, if they made a Falcon that size-ish with smaller figures, they could probably hit the point.  But then I think how many would be let down if they didn't get that BMF (with rectangular deflector) at 3.75" scale.  Maybe a line limited in scope?  I loved the M.A.S.K. figures back in the day, and I appreciate now that the smaller scale of the person allowed them to create better vehicles for those plastic men to ride in.

For vehicle lovers, the 3.75" scale hurts getting accurate scaling.

I'll post pics later this week of these vehicles. I grabbed a Millenium Falcon, Slave 1 and X-Wing to add to the mix.  This Falcon only cost $13 or so, and it is big. My son loves the ships so I am hoping this will be a big hit. I left behind speeder bike and landspeeder. I Did not see any regular TIE fighters or Star Destroyers, two more I'd like to get. The regular size ones that were normally $10 were down to $7.

A Chopper in 20" or 30" scale would be pretty cool.

Super Mario 3D World is an absolute masterpiece. I cannot recommend it enough.  I am a lifelong huge Ninty fan, and I love the WiiU. You can get  very reasonable bundles now.  Plus, it plays all Wii games as well.   This week I grabbed NES Remix pack (I bought part one but heard about this physical release shortly before springing on PT 2). So incredibly addictive. Mario Kart is also a blast.

I grabbed an AT-AT, Snowspeeder and TIE Advanced for my son from Santa.  These are pretty cool.  A bit bigger than the Titanium, IIRC.  They have the three I listed, as well as a Speeder Bike, and the vehicles in this gift set, one of which (Wedge's X-Wing) is exclusive to the set.  The Falcon and Star Destroyer retail for $20 each so this is a decent bargain.
