Fun fact:  Vintage Ben could wear Monopoly's Hat token.  Made him spiffy!

Collect All 92! / Re: Bossk

I think we all need to take a peek at the original version and give those Kenner sculptors a round of applause on this one.  There are a lot of subtle details on the costume (like those buttons on the legs and the hose on his waist) that are present but not painted.

Bossk is unique in that I think we can agree there has never been a BAD version of this character.

Now the real question is it "bawsk" or "bosskay?"  I have heard it pronounced both ways...

Collect All 92! / Re: Chewbacca

My Chewbacca got flushed down the toilet. A couple of months later when we open up the septic tank to get it emptied there he was floating at the top. Just his head and one arm sticking up. He spent the next two weeks emerged in a Coolwhip tub full of bleach. He a little green from the neck down but otherwise okay. The headless Sand Person wasn't as lucky.
And you thought it smelled bad on the outside.

Hasbro really nailed the color scheme with their TSC Veers, though I like the articulation and look of the new commander better.

Let me take a moment to say how much I am loving this "Collect all 92" feature.  Really cool.

I love this Han.  To me this is one of the crowning jewels of the line and some of the best work Hasbro has ever done.  The proportions are dead on.

A MacGuffin (sometimes McGuffin or Maguffin) is a plot device that motivates the characters and advances the story, but has little other relevance to the story itself.

The Indy movies are full of them--the headpiece for the Staff of Ra, the Ark of the Covenant, the Sankara Stones, the Cross of Coronado, and the Holy Grail.

Work bought us Nextels for the walkie talkie feature... I never use it.  SOOOO annoying.

There are pics of Prime, Bumblebee, Starscream and Scorponok floating around.  What a pile of ass.  This has to be one of the easiest adaptations NOT to screw up, but it looks like they will succeed in making this a mess.

I'm a school administrator, and I can shed some light on the dietary changes from when we were kids.

Often, a beverage/candy company will "sponsor" a school, giving them a piece of the proceeds from all beverages sold from their machines.  Some see this as a cash cow, and it has been for a while.  Now the pendulum is swinging the other way towards healthier choices for our children.

As far as fund-raising foods for clubs and such, it is a different issue.  The companies that the schools contract with to provide meals to students often have a slim margin to profit.  Increasingly, they are seeing fund-raising and school store foods cannibalizing some of their potential lunchtime sales.  Some believe that the schools sanctioning such sales is a violation of their contract.  I know in our district, unless the food vendor is involved (aside from our High School's vocational restaurant) food cannot be sold on school grounds.  The vendor wants all $2 that Billy's mom gives him in the morning.  Hard to blame them, really.

Over Columbus Day weekend of '04  put in 44 hours over the three days, 20 of them on Saturday into Sunday.  Salary can suck sometimes.

You know Chris, you're a genius!  Why don't we just have adults post here!  And everyone under 18 can close their accounts!  :P

Adam (Smartypants) felt insulted, because you just posted the image.  If you would've included that you thought it was funny, maybe he wouldn't have reacted the way he did.  He must've reacted the way he did, because he felt offended, and you insulted him, when he was just trying to defend someone.  I know he shouldn't have said "STFU", but still that doesn't seem like a good reason to suspend someone.  But it's your site, you can do whatever you want with it.

Regardless of the reason for the reaction, Adam is responsible for reacting that way.  Plus, reacting to a sick burn by saying "STFU" is sort of Jr. High School.

I love self-checkout.  But it's the same thing as the garden center... if you have 900 items, you shouldn't ******* be using one.

Or if you are over 55.  I swear I just want to punch these people that scan the item, have this blank look until it says to place the item in the bag.  Like they need the machine to affirm that yes, you put the item you have purchased in a bag.  Then they press the touch screen like it has actual buttons with a huge amout of force.  AGgg!  It is supposed to be faster.

I think these were designed with people that have "scanning/register" experience in mind.  Intuitively, if you have done it, you know where the UPC is for an item.  I hate when someone has to look at every side of the box to find it, then scan it.  I love the self checkouts but I sometimes find its more of a headache than the regular lines.

In the normal checkout lines, I hate when a cashier takes items that are not hitting the belt sensor before items that are, preventing the belt from advancing, thereby holding up the progression of items on belt-over scanner-in bag.

I don't mean for anything I say to be trolling.

I know you aren't trying to stir things up, but that is what your posts are actually doing.  I respect your position and know you're just speaking your mind, but the crowd just doesn't want to hear it.  You've said your peace, and were it me, I would move on.  You don't want to get lumped in with the "RSers" that everyone hates.  It just ain't worth it, you know?
