So, pics have shown up of this set. It includes Waxer, Boil, Commander Cody, and Mace Windu. Mace seems like an odd choice, but I'm stoked for this set as I enjoyed the episodes in which these characters appeared.

It looks OKAY. The clone sculpts are indeed impressive. But, c'mon Hasbro, fix up that Mace Windu!....... ;D

We've got a boxed image of the Assault on Ryloth battlepack for your viewing pleasure, out on the front page. A nice set to give Mace an army for that episode arc... The CW battlepacks are surprisingly what most of us would've liked to have seen in the regular line a while back, ironically.

I suppose that is what the box is going to look like for the Battle Pack line next year. It looks thinner and taller than the current package. Overall, it looks like a great set and I look forward to picking it up.

It that photo, does it look like Mace's snap on armor and helemt more closely matches the his forearms in terms of color? The basic figure's armor/helmet (http://www.yakface.com/TGuide2004/ActionFigures/TCW/CW06/lf21.html) contrasts greatly so it'll be nice if they do match up in the BP release.
-
There was a pic floating around the Scum forums of the BP Mace. Having seen it as well as possessing decent vision, I can confirm that the white plastic on the removable armor does indeed match the forearm plastic. For this reason, I plan on passing on the current Mace Windu figure and waiting for the BP instead.

Was the image you saw from SDCC? If so, I think that was the proto/paintmaster so it might not exactly match the final product. I hope so though.

No, it was from one of the Ebay sellers located overseas. Granted, the figure could still be in early stages but commonly the figures that pop up (like the ones from Black Sheep Toys) are close to the real deal.

My apologies Jayson. After doing some looking, I was steering you in the wrong direction. The pic was from the guy that runs the Star Wars I Like (http://www.starwarsilike.blogspot.com/) blog. I don't think he has updated his site with the Mace figure just yet but I'm sure he will in a few days.

:o
i wonder y they put mace windu instead of obi wan?
the figures although look very nice but the color on cody, waxer, and boil are yellow not orange

These two exclusive sets have started hitting the stores in the midwest. Might be worth running the number (087-06-0751) on your next visit.
-
Picked them both up today by having someone pull them from the back with the DPCI.

How do they know which one(s) to grab? Don't they all have the same #?
I can just see myself trying this and some drone carting back a fistful of Jabba's Palace BP's...ugh.
I did enjoy that 48 hour span when I was OFF the Hunt. ::)

No, the exclusive sets almost always have a different DPCI from the main line sets -
Basic Star Wars Battle Packs = 087-06-1873
Target Exclusive Clone Wars BPs = 087-06-0751

Thanks Jeff, I am going to try this at a few locations after work and will report back later tonight.

Be sure to call first to save yourself the trip (and the frustration). ;)

Ha ha, not to worry...I was completely successful at scoring these on my first attempt at the local Target on my way home from work. They had 4 tucked away in "Stockroom A" and I was able to Jedi Mind Trick them into bringing me a fresh, shiny, pristine copy of each new BP.
Kudos to all for the suggestions on this, I wouldn't have had any inkling to try at this point otherwise.
-
Using the Jedi Mind trick, I was able to score these this morning before going to work.
I get to cross two more items off of the "Still Need to Get" list!

Man, it's time I learn how to do the Mind Trick - I need to catch up on my BP collecting, and my Targets are barely getting any new ones!

OK, so I picked up these sets today. After looking at the Ryloth box set a bit closer, I realized in my box there were no guns for Waxer's holsters. ???
So, my question - did I get a dud or is this a cheap-out like the McQ box sets where they didn't include them? If they did include them in your set, where where they packed - in the holsters or in a separate baggie?
-
On the ones I got today they were tapped in a little baggie next to his feet....
-
Ugh, that's what I was afraid of hearing. This would be the second time in two weeks I ended up with a toy missing accessories. ::)
-
I'm surprised the poses of the figgures while in the packaging are so neutral - Hasbro usually puts them in the boxes to look like they're fighting. But the figures in the Ambush at Abregado pack are just standing there in the box. ???

The 2 troopers are just looking out. The droid is the only one in action. Maybe the clones and Plo decided one droid isn't worth the energy?
-
I think the droid is supposed to be on the outside of the ship, although they couldn't get the perspective right in the package.
I'll have to go home and check for Waxer's guns now..I did not notice one way or the other after initial inspection. Good catch.
