Received my Skeletor from Matty Collector today. Either I won the packing lottery, or Digital River is learning how to properly secure these figures for shipment.

The figure is great. I got the drybrushed 'variant', I guess, if it can be called a variant. It really brings out the detail in Skeletor's face, so that's a plus to me.

Great figure. Still not really worth $28.70, but I'm glad to have it.  :) Bring on Hordak!

I received Skeletor last Friday, and I have agree - its an amazing figure.  I haven't opened my MOTU figures yet, as I'm reworking/rearranging things to find the space, but just in package I think that these have been pretty great so far.  Like you mentioned Ben, probably not worth the $20-$30, but I'm happy to have it.  This is a line I hope to continue with though, its just really well done.  Too bad they aren't $5-$10 cheaper.

Matty let people know through Facebook (yeah, I friended Matty on Facebook-dork!) that Skeletor is almost sold out, and that now would be a good time to buy one.

I loved the toon as a kid, but hated the figs (I burned mine in a huge fire) - sorry.  But, I am intrigued - are these all vintage mold re-releases or all new molds like the Cartoon Network stuff from a few years back?

They are new Four Horsemen sculpted figures (who did the 2002ish stuff) which are stylized heavily like the vintage ones.  They are basically the old figures with more articulation and a few updated tweaks to the look

It looks like in the gallery at TNI that a prototype of Teela was shown as well (and it was mentioned in their write up that there will be an alternate "more 200X" head sculpt as well).

Sigh.  I'm really kicking myself for not ordering He-man/Beast-man when they launched.  I'm one of presumably many who planned to get he-man with Skeletor.  And it's tough to want to get all of them when I'm missing the main character.  Has anyone heard if there are any plans to re-release - perhaps with new packaging?  I'm sure the demand is there for another run.

I think some of the Q and A's from NYCC mentioned that certain figures (He-Man and Skeletor were ones mentioned) could be re-released later on again, but there would be differences so that the first versions would still be unique (whether it is packaging, paint differences, or something else).  It did sound fairly likely that the "big two" would at least see the light of day again.  I'd have to look back over them again, so I'm not sure if it is confirmed or not.

I think this line continues to look great from what we're seeing.  The price still stings - very much so - but they're still pulling me in.  I didn't get the King Grayskull exclusive from last year (which I'm ok with), but I've bought the others so far, and hope to continue to - at least as long as they are memorable/recognizable to me from my youth.  What we've seen so far seem to fit that bill.

For those interested, Stratos is now up for sale at MattyCollector.com.  I wouldn't think he'd be a super fast seller, like Skeletor apparently was.  I noticed that some of these (He-Man/Skeletor in particular) are starting to hit pretty high prices on ebay - so I wonder if more people/scalpers will start buying multiples.

This is the only one so far that I'm not sure I'm going to buy. The 200x version looks much better IMO, plus I'd save $30.

I ordered it anyway. Matty was on Facebook and said that Stratos is almost sold out, already. I figure I can skip figures when they get to the POP stuff, so I got Stratos.

Stratos has sold out.  I missed out because I was undecided on this figure.
