Well it looks like we are getting our first armored figured but again its the same characters over and over again. If he comes with a helmet i would be as upset. I hope this means we will finally get some Bounty Hunters, Stormtroopers and Vader.
And for those of you who are lazy ;)

I wasn't expecting this so it was a nice surprise. Seeing that I am a huge fan of Obi-wan in this outfit, I will be sitting at my computer Friday at 1:00pm waiting to pre-order. He can go next to Ilum Padme since she really was going to be the odd one out for "theme grouping". I assume an Anakin is not to far off in the future but would like them to make a frickin' clone trooper of some sort already.....

Even though the last few preorders were not difficult to get to get, i feel that for some reason this one wil be.

I would possibly go for this if the helmet had been included. Although someday they will probably make a clonetrooper with a removeable helmet. Even so I already have Indy and Luke Farm boy on pre-order. So, something has to be left out.
It's a really nice looking figure though. I will kick myself for not getting it later but I can't afford their $80-90 figure to often.

It's an easy choice for me to get it because my collection has a definite Obi-Wan focus. I'm hoping that they will make a good AOTC Obi-Wan as well since they now have the head.

Got mine ordered just fine too. The $90 price tag really stinks, but at least I had some reward points to use on it. If the armored figures are going to all be this pricey, I don't think I'll be too worried about picking very many others.

I had no problems as well. The last one I ordered I could not get online and had to order over the phone, glad to see they have made improvements.

Got mine. Was surprised to see how easy it was this time - just check the box, log in, and you're done!
Was even more surprised by the $90 price tag. >:( I reallllllly want his figure, so I splurged, but I'm exiting the line if this is the new ongoing cost.

I've been stuck in meetings all day and totally forgot about it. Best I could do was get on the waitlist. Not sure if I'm crazy about the $90 price tag anyway.

Wow, it's being waitlisted after only an hour of being available? That's pretty quick, but they said it was limited to 1,500 pieces. Did they give you an option for the nonexclusive figure? At $90+ I don't know if I would want the nonexclusive, and I'm also glad I only go for select figures.

I didnt realize that the little Holographic Clone Was supposed to be Commander Rex. I think thats actually pretty cool.

I was wondering if it would cost as much as Gandalf and Indiana Jones....I guess this is the new price point for 12" figures :-\. Not that it mattered....I ordered one. :-[
Also, I had no idea that the little guy was Commander Rex - that IS cool!!

Yup, unless I did something wrong, the only way I could get the exclusive was to wait list. They did have a pre-order for the regular version available it seems. However, for $90, I want the exclusive version (as you supsected). If not, someday I'll pick one up on eBay.

I've gotten every SW 12" that I ever put on wait list (3 of them over the last few years), so you should be in good shape. ;)

excuse reason for the substantial price increase?
If this is the new regular price for each 12" figure, I think I may have to drop out of this line, I just can't justify spending $90 on something that should be in the $40 - $50 range. I was willing to accept the jump from the Hasbro $20 price to the Sideshow $50 price based on the better detail, better bodies, better scupting, etc... but a 450% increase in price from what we used to pay in 2005 to now is a bit much.
You almost want to tell them to get off their high-horse, increase the production runs and bring the overall cost of the figures down.

I think the price increase has everything to do with the armor. It's not so much of a standard body that Sideshow can just give different softgoods to along with a new headsculpt. This required substantial new sculpting.

Econ 101 would say this is just supply and demand. They sell out of their 12" exclusives within an hour of them being available, so why not increase the price. It sucks as a collector and I certainly was not happy about the price...but I still bought one. If it was my company and my profit at stake, I'd certainly jack up the price. It could come back to bite them in the arse, but looks like the huge increase didn't chase people away this time around. :-\

I think that with the new pricepoint that the exclusives will sell, and sell out quick. But you may see a sharp decrease in the nonexclusive sales. I did not get the exclusive version of EP III Obi-Wan but didn't mind it so much because all I missed out on was the Grievous blaster which I had no intention of displaying with the figure anyway.
If I had to pay $90 for the same figure, I'd think twice about it. I also think a lot of people who may have pre-ordered this piece, will cancel because of the price. The only reason I'm getting it is because it's an Obi-Wan figure.

Well at $50 or more I would have bought this for sure. But at $90 forget it. Although I did pre-order Luke Farmboy and Indy for this price. So, they might as well jack it up I guess. But in the end I won't spend that money for something like this Kenobi, Aayla Secura, Hammerhead, if they ever made those. In other words just the main characters for me.

I just ordered one. I have four Planet of the Apes figures and they are all excellent, but I have intentionally avoided the Star Wars line until now... At $90, I won't have to worry about buying the Anakin (as sweet as he is) or any troopers...
I may not even get the Indiana Jones, which is just sad, because he's an incredible figure.

I just got the email that my wait-list is being converted to a pre-order due to cancellations. I'm pretty happy about getting this one! Still not thrilled by the $90 price tag but happy to be getting the figure!

Mine just arrived! The armor is pretty cool...a very hard plastic and good detail. The head sculpt is a great AOTC Obi-Wan likeness. It does come with extra hands as well as an ignited and ignited lightsabers and the exclusive is really clever. Cmdr Rex's hologram is actually attached to an extra gauntlet...I originally thought he would clip onto it.
I have it set up holding the ignited lightsaber in his left hand and right arm up like he's listening to Cmdr Rex's report. Nice addition to my Sideshow/Medicom shelf. ;D

Got mine today and i have to say i am very impressed. I had thought about cancelling my order but i am glad i didnt. The head sculpt is great as is the overall figure. Very nice.

I got my General Kenobi yesterday and finally opened him today. I am impressed with this offering. I only have two real complaints - I think the eyes (or perhaps the whole face) is a bit too "shiny" and it makes him seem glassy-eyed. My second complaint is cosmetic - my figures left thigh pad has a big brown smudge on it. I may look at emailing Sideshow and see if they can replace it.
Things I like - I love all the interchangeable hands and guantlet (exclusive version). I think they way they did the jump suit under the armor is just great!! All, in all, I give this figure a solid A-

Got my Kenobi in the mail today and he is AWESOME. Currently my favorite 12" figure of all time. Amazing detail on the head and the cloth cloak plus armor is so sweet! Nice to see the little mini Cody holo as well.

Mine does not have any smudges on the armor. I didn't notice the shiny head either...but the way mine's displayed there isn't any direct light on it so it's not at all noticable.
