As far as Kubricks go, I'd have to defer opinion on that to the guys who collect(ed) them...  Intentional "chase" figures like that in a case tend to make me feel a little differently (IE: You buy the case, and the cost spreads out differently over the chase figure cmopared to the regular figures), but that's just my opinion and I don't buy Kubes to really know how to feel.  I bought similar figures like Hot Toys' Snap Kit figures, and their chases are pretty rare, and I got the rarest.  I'd probably not feel compelled to sell that one for the same price as others in the case.  They're also out of production though too, haha.

Unless you live in Japan, Kubricks have no "retail price". Their value is totally subjective, especially for the chase figures. So to me the only rule of thumb would be to sell them on JD at or below their going rate on ebay, which from what I've seen is almost always the case. The times I've seen people asking too much for kubs on JD, I've simply rolled my eyes and moved on or politely asked if they could work something out with me. Seems like everyone is adult enough that no regulation is necessary. Hell, I'd rather somebody listed kubs marked slightly too high than not list them at all, just cuz it's fun to see what's for sale. But that's just me.  :)

I would think that would /should be the case for other toy lines too, but I kind of agree with the 1 year rule if it deters  actual scalpers who actively scour toy stores just to flip toys and make a profit here. They can always take their goods to ebay. But I think it's a bit hostile to call a collector who happens to have a spare HTF figure a scalper if he's asking fair market value or less.

These guys didn't burn their clothes just because they left Hoth--especially a sweet lookin' jacket like that. Madine's wearing layers too so yeah it might be chilly.    ;D

Wouldn't it be cheeky if one of the chases was Aunt Beru?

Any word on when these are due to hit?

HLJ says they expect them "on or about December 31."

My winning bid was $80. The final price tag after fees and shipping is gonna be around $115. More than I wanted to pay for it, but not too bad I guess.

Keep watching yahoo auctions, I think you'd be able to find one for that price or less eventually.

Anyone know how long you have to cancel the preorders from HLJ and NCS? I'd like to preorder a box with the option to cancel and go the full set route if the chases are sweet.

Also, who had the lower price on a box for DX3: NCS or HLJ?

Thanks!  I've got a grey haired Ben on its way, so you can expect a double telescoping lightsaber hoax from me sometime soon.  ;D

Sweet!  Does the rocket fire on the j-slot chase?

Hehe, just playin'. It doesn't really fire. Didn't think my photoshop FX looked convincing, but I guess I should've added in some flames and stuff. Too much free time today.  :-[

(Edited my above post so that there's no confusion.  :))

Received my 15th anniversary carded Fett a few days ago. I can confirm that it is the J-Slot version:

Bored in photoshop. The rocket doesn't actually fire, but it would be cool if it did.

That stupid "lucky to get out of there" line wasn't a new change for the SEs; it was in the original script.

Quote
The dialogue "You're lucky you didn't taste too good", was not redubbed. There were several variants of this line in the shooting script. All of the special editions used different takes every once in a while; mostly because some were of much greater quality than the others. The particular take that Lucas approved for this scene had Hamill reading straight from the script, instead of ad-libbing the now famous comment. Lucasfilm officials have stated that they didn't realize the dialogue was any different until the film was released. This also accounts for some of the other minor dialogue changes in the SEs.

Hmm, interesting. I remember from Irvin Kershner's commentary on my ESB dvd that he added in a bunch of stuff like that, by encouraging ad libbing in scenes where he felt more was needed. Probably most famously was the "I love you. I know." exchange between Han and Leia, originally written for Han to reply "I love you too." After a bunch of takes, Harrison Ford finally came up with the "I know" line, which to me is one of the best moments in the trilogy--the line is so good you almost couldn't write it. Kirshner also added little moments to R2 and Chewbacca, infusing them with warmth and personality.  Definitely recommend checking out his commentary to anyone who hasn't. I have the '08 boxset with the original theatrical versions on it, so as long as I've got that, I'm fine.  :)

Greedo shooting at all, Vader saying "Noooooooooo!", and Luke saying "You were lucky to get out of there!", instead of "You're lucky you don't taste very good!" are just pointless changes to scenes that were perfect when originally filmed.

I'd much rather hear Luke robotically state an obvious fact to R2 than have a humorous, charming exchange with him. Glad Lucas is finally stamping out the wit and sparkle of the original dialogue.   ::)

How 'bout this guy as a chase?

http://internationalhouseofgeek.files.wordpress.com/2011/07/starwarsdeletedscene3final.jpg

I think there is zero chance of a deleted scene figure.  Never say never I guess, but I don't see it happening.

Suppose I was to nerdily point out that you can also see him during the Endor celebration?... Haha, but yeah I'm never right with my chase guesses, so now I just make outlandish picks. Speaking of Endor:

How about making the chases worth more than $500 this time around...

Henry Jones, Sr.
Endor Rebel Trooper

That would be too cruel! Plus they need to save the rebel trooper for Endor DX.  :)

Look at how smug R2 looks in that picture... "Own me already? Too bad. [assorted beeps]"  :P

Can't decide if I'd want that background card or not. It definitely looks cool and I like the simplicity, but I also don't know if I'd want to pay a lot for something I could quickly make an exact copy of  in Illustrator. Would've liked to see what kind of Death Star scene they could've painted, ie. the docking bay, control room etc.
