Hall of Justice / Re: DC Universe Classics Wave 18

The most exciting thing to me from toy fair (DCUC) was the Injustice Society 5 pack.  Hopefully it won't be difficult to get, as it looks great.

Similar to Mikey D, I plan on getting Black Tiger, Boomerang, Toy Man.  Possibly add Samuria as well (as I used to have the old Super Powers version).  I"m not really sure who the others are, and couldn't care less about the Apache Chief C&C.  This is actually the first C&C that I don't really care about.
I'm also surprised by the lack of a "headliner".  Most waves have had at least one A or B lister.  The highlight of this wave is???

Not sure, to me maybe Boomerang?

The figs are well done, but although I enjoyed Blackest Night I have no real interest in this wave.  The Indigo Atom is actually pretty cool, as his costume is reminiscent of an early 80's Gil Kane series that I remember.
But I REALLY want Anti-Monitor.  I can't justify the money just for him, so hopefully I can find a complete Anti-Monitor somewhere for a reasonable price.

Just got my waves 15 & 16.  Other then the Sinestro Batman (which I could have done without), these waves are awesome.  From a sculpting standpoint I think Jonah Hex must be the highlight of these waves.  He's flat out awesome.  I wasn't convinced I really needed another Riddler (after the wave 5 one).  But even thought this shares the common body, the head sculpt is so good that he's a definite improvement.

I hope these hit retail as there are a few that I want.  I would like to get the Kyle Rayner, Manhunter and black hand.  Does anyone know if the Mongul is a repaint of the old DC Superheroes one, or a new sculpt.  From the pics I've seen I'm guessing repaint, but I'm not certain.

If anyone has an extra right leg for the ultra-humanite that they don't need, please let me know.  Mine suffers from the all too familiar Mattel "quality control".  The seam in the front is split, and while the leg is functional it looks terrible.  Drop me a message, and I would be happy to paypal you a few dollars for the leg/shipping/trouble.

Well, my Dick Grayson Robin prayers have been answered.  Yay!!!
Looking at the rest of the stuff in this presentation it will be expensive to be a DC fan in the next year.

And the MattyCollector Legion 12 pack?  Awesome.  But I'm terrified to see how much it will be.   Nice touch with Invisible Kid.

Wow, we must really be running out of C&C choices.  None of those jump out at me as must haves.

One figure I have been hoping would get C&C treatment is the Anti-Monitor.  The rest of the wave could be junk, and I would still get them just for him.  He's been relatively prominent in recent years, so I think there's a real shot at him being done.

Very nice.  It'll be good to add Creeper and Jonah Hex to the DCUC crew.  And I'm now glad that I never hunted down the old DC Superheroes Bane.

Just picked up my 4-LOM, so other then the elusive fett, my bounty hunters are now complete.  Pretty nice looking bust (for what he is).  I was a bit surprised to see that the edition size is only 2000.  It seems like they've been dropping the edition size for the more obscure characters.

If there is a classic robin, PLEASE let him be regular sized.  I can't stand the "smaller" figures, as they are just too small.  Now that wave 13 is out, and I have most of the Teen Titans, I am really disliking the scale of kid flash and beast boy.

Martian Manhunter is as good as expected.  Raven looks great, as does the classic starman.  I'm glad that OMAC is the Kirby one, but he's still a bit goofy.  Jemm is better then I expected, and Validus looks great.  Batman on the other hand...

If anyone is ordering a master case and will have an extra complete set, please let me know.  I've pretty much been out of the kubrick scene since they started with the prequel figures, but now that they are back to OT I would like to get back in.

Hall of Justice / Re: DC Comics' "Super Powers"
« on: May 5, 2010, 02:44 PM »
Dick Grayson Robin is a must in my mind.  Given that Kalibak was a BAF, it's unlikely he would be redone with the Super Powers costume.  As for Orion - uggh, I hope they NEVER make one like the Super Powers version.  That was one of the worst character designs I've seen.  I could be wrong, but I believe that design was created solely for the super powers toy-line and mini series.  I was a pretty avid comic collector back then, and I don't recall ever seeing it outside of that.
