My daughter's VOTC Leia lost a leg last night. This wasn't even played with rough - she's very good to her toys. Crap!

Any advice? I'm planning on buying another, but I'd like to try to fix this one...
If I pop her open, there isn't enough material on her lost leg to try to tap a screw into, And I'm sure that gluing the peg back on wouldn't solve anything long term play wise.
Maybe a customer service channel?

E-mail Hasbro from they're website. They'll send you a self-addressed stamped envelope to return the Leia, and send you a replacement figure.
That's what they did with the Dannik Jericho with two left legs... ;D

Yeah, I suppose they might replace it... that really does suck though.
Or you could always glue it and have her just for a diorama, like in the Yavin control room or something.

Easy fix.
Get a small thumbtack, or skinny copper nail. cut the head off at an angel so it looks like /____> then, get both parts ready. Take the nail bit in pliers and heat it over a flame. Insert it into the broken peg still in her leg. Then, stick the leg onto the body. She's just got to be careful with it from now on.

Thanks Kevin. She's almost 5 years old - the nail is good for display but wouldn't survive the first time she tried ot move it. I'm going to need to buy a second one of these, I just hope we don't have a repeat performance.

Wow, thanks everyone!
Deanpaul, maybe you can luck out and find one still on clearance. I know as recently as a month ago the local Walmart had the first four VOTC going for 2$ and possibly as low as 1$ each. I would have bought a few but I couldn't think of anything to make with them. Owen D

I'm not sure that a screw in the leg would be a bad idea, there looks to be SOME material left, but not having one in the same state as yours it's tough to judge from a picture.
Worse comes to worse you could try that at least... :-\
The good thing is she went for so cheap most places that getting a replacement isnt' a huge deal I guess. Just a pain at this point I'm sure.
The best part of the story I've heard so far is that a kid is playing iwth a VOTC Leia. I recall many people telling me VOTC wasn't for kids at all, and were meant to just sit in the packaging... I can see some point that kids maybe weren't the target, but they're damn fun figures nonetheless. :)

Well, if the leg falls off so easily - maybe they should stay in the package? ;)

I like the idea of the pin but I would probably reinforce it with some krazy glue.
