Hi. Jan 10, making an update. Myself, and Lando the Scoundrel, would like to invite any Jedidefender Staff who is in NYC for Toy Fair out for drinks. Anyone else in the NYC area is welcome also.
Woo Hoo it's only six weeks away! Any guesses on what we'll see? What do you want to see?
I'm hoping to see at least 3-4 waves of Legacy, new vehicles, and 2-3 waves of new Clone Wars...
-
Jabba's Sail Barge, animated Jawas, and a boxed set with the unreleased RotLA wave.
The rest is gravy. :)
-
More Saga Legends Repacks! Hooray!
-
Wilrow Hood, and a Rebel Fleet Trooper... Dammit.
-
The rebel hanger sled, RFT and maybe some of the new BADs?
-
As long as we get to see a bunch of new basic figure waves, I'll be happy. It's cool that we'll actually be surprised for a change.
-
Corporate Alliance Tank Droid
Whorm Loathsom
Commando Droid
Holograhic Darth Sidious w/ Mechno Chair
Daultay Dofine
-
I'm hoping that Hasbro rolls out some big items...starship or playset wise.
I'd also like to see what Sideshow has to offer.
-
Sideshow wasn't at Toy Fair last year. That was something of a disappointment.
As for Hasbro? Here's what I think we may see...
LEGACY Basic Figures wave 1-4
SAGA LEGENDS - 1 or 2 waves
CLONE WARS Basic Figures - 3 waves
VEHICLES - Mostly Clone Wars. I think there will be a yellow Anakin fighter, plus the two new vehicles we've already seen.
BATTLE PACKS - Clone Wars Jabba. At least 3 others. I think the movie Jabba will be a late 2009 release.
COMIC 2-PACKS - 4 new sets
EVOLUTIONS - 3 new sets
-
I'd really like to see them do the Jabba set right. Full Dias, a backdrop to hold Carbonite Han... a completely new Jabba.
And at least one unmade denizen.
Hasbro has teased that it will be worth the wait... so I think the bar is set pretty high on this one.
-
I hope they go all out with Jabba as well but i wouldnt be surprised if they wait til SDCC to show it off.
-
It's gonna be that thin plastic vacuformed into a dais/floor... no deco.
Oil and labor and pest control and transport and boats and cardboard are all going up in 2009. But they're going to include a repainted POTF2 Weequay with the set, and the Max Rebo Band. And Darth Vader... The Hoth one, of course.

I hope when they finally re-do the Fleet Trooper that it's just a new airbrushing of the 1996 one. >:(

We are overdue for that same sculpt in a Hispanic version aren't we? Or an Asian or Old Man version? Just change the head and leave the rest of the existing perfection... 8)

You guys are just jealous that the RFT is such a great character, that his figure deserves an equal level of greatness! :)
-
I'll bet Hasbro puts a little more oomph into their Transformers and GI Joe displays than they do for Star Wars. I expect to see some neat things for the Clone Wars, but I also expect the Legacy showings to be a little light.
-
I've got to go on the record with one large vehicle prediction....
The Clone Turbo Tank.
I'm still not sure when (as in it could be more than a year from now or more). Especially based on it's absence from the TV series so far, and the AT-TE leg situation. Just call it an....educated guess.
-
EVOLUTIONS - 3 new sets
I forgot about these. These are on the top of my list of things to want to see.
-
There's actually 4 new Evo sets, there's a Clone Wars one also.
-
I'll bet Hasbro puts a little more oomph into their Transformers and GI Joe displays than they do for Star Wars.
Given that both TF and Joe have big theatrical releases this year, and SW has relatively nothing on the horizon, I'd say yeah, that's probably a pretty safe bet.

The Turbo Tank would be my best guess too... if Hasbro wants to release something big in 2009 or 2010, it makes sense to make it Clone Wars related, and that's as good a prediction as any.
I think I'll be more than content though if we don't get any new big items in 2009... more of a space issue than anything.

It's not a guess, despite my phrasing in the original post.

I agree with those that have said we'll see more of a focus on Clone Wars stuff (along with the big GI Joe and TF push with both movies coming this year). That being said, I hope we get a look at some more of the Legacy waves. I'm guessing we'll see the ESB wave that's supposed to be up next after the ANH wave, but there's a good chance we'll see that prior to Toy Fair. It seems to work out that way usually anyways. I'm hoping we get a look at the rest of the "spring waves", which in total covers the ANH, ESB, AOTC, and ROTJ waves. According to Hasbro's breakdown, those are the four "spring waves", and then we can see the "Fall waves" at Comic Con.
I know I'm probably in a bit of a minority here, since many want all-new vehicles, but I wouldn't mind some news on some more re-done Original Trilogy vehicles. They don't necessarily have to be BMF sized, like an AT-AT, but even an all-new version of the Snowspeeder or AT-ST (although I'd like to see larger vehicles like the AT-AT, Slave 1, etc. eventually as well). I'd also like to see Hasbro go all out with the new Jabba the Hutt, with a nice dais and backdrop like mentioned earlier.
-

Um...Star Wars has a very successful weekly TV show, which I believe can sell more toys than a big film. Look at the money The Dark Knight made, and SW was still the #1 Boys Toy of the year. Joe and Transformers will be big, but ROTS and now TCW have made SW huge again.

SW is the #1 toy, period. IIRC isn't Toy Fair aimed mostly at the retailers? I think given its position as the leading toy category, it will get the appropriate level of attention.
-
We'll see. I just think that SW may take a little bit of a backseat compared to the other two this year, at least as far as Toy Fair displays go. Not necessarily in overall sales for the year, or box office takes, or television ratings, or any of that other ****. Just Toy Fair displays. Not that that matters all that much anyway.
-
Hmm, I don't think it will take that much of a back seat. Granted Transformers toys did well for the first movie and should for he second. GIJoe figs seem to sell pretty well also. Since they are both Hasbro licenses, they will have a presence at ToyFair. However Since Hasbro decided to drawback attention from SW in lieu of the disastrous Indy line, I don't think they are willing to let that happen again. SW will feature prominently alongside TF and Joe stuff.
-
Not that that matters all that much anyway.
True, as long as there is a table with a single Super Articulated Rebel Fleet Trooper on it in the Heisman pose (to demonstrate his articularity)
-
my sources say supreme articularity

I'm down for a Sam Bradford Rebel Fleet Trooper action figure. Either single-carded, or as part of a Previews Exclusive Crimson and Cream Empire box set featuring Sam along with his Crimson and Cream squad mates Billy Vessels, Steve Owens, Billy Sims, and Jason White.
Sign me up.
-
I think Toy Fair won't be much different than 2008's was, as far as the ammount of poo sitting about.
I think GIJ and Transformers are inevitably going to get a bigger push though. Past trends, and all that jazz.
-
Sure Gi-Joe and Transformers might get the bigger push, but they don't have nearly the same amount of fan push as SW has, i.e., all these fan sites.
-
I dunno... "All these fan sites" don't ammount to a lot, really. Break down all the sites around the net, and besides Rebelscum there's few with what one could consider a "large fanbase" to them. Very few. Some have a non-existant base really. I think it's a bit of a mirage really.
And GI Joe supports a large convention EVERY year. Transformers have a pretty huge international following too, much larger than Star Wars seems to even have.
I think both are quite popular.
-
Toy Fair isn't about fans, it's about vendors. They will definitely be geared towards the lines they think will sell the most this years. Star Wars may or may not be a part of that.
Additionally, lots of the Iron Man and Transformers stuff will probably be kept secret and only shown to vendors. There will probably be lots of stuff we hear about but don't get photos of for those lines.
-
I think this year might be a bit better than usual. First, we haven't had all that much revealed to us thus far, both leaked and officially announced. Second, the display for SW might be kinda large due to the cartoon being something of a hit. I won't disagree that Hasbro's Boys focus will be on G.I Joe, Transformers 2, and whatever superhero films are coming out (Wolverine?) Compared to 2008, I think this year will have a lot more shown. Hasbro has had time to work on the figures, hasn't divided efforts of their Star Wars team (IJ in 2008), and doesn't have to worry about keeping a movie/product launch secret.
Kinda off topic, but I will agree that GI Joe and Transformers each give Hasbro more customers/collectors/fans/whatever than Star Wars. However, I believe that Star Wars overall has many more fans/collectors than the other two properties, due to the broader appeal of the movies and the sheer number of licensees.
-
I don't really disagree with anything Jesse said, but another consideration, at the moment, is shelf space. Target's current reset dedicates half an isle side to SW. This has to say something about Hasbro's commitment.
-
I think having a weekly TV show on the Cartoon Network is a much bigger draw than a movie.
I think Hasbro is in good shape with all three properties (GI Joe, Transformers, and Star Wars). There's always a Transformers cartoon running, the SW cartoon is a success and there apparently is a GI Joe cartoon starting up soon (if it hasn't already). So I think Hasbro would want to be strong with all three at Toy Fair.

Remember this? Apparently the Turbo Tank may have been posted on a list of items up for order by retailers. Availability may be as early as this spring.
-
Of course... but can you remember this from just a few days earlier?
I guess where it's going to be interesting is when you balance all of these things against the sales of both the Falcon and the AT-TE. Were the sales good enough that these flaws are within acceptable parameters? And will it permit Hasbro to proceed with more large vehicle projects? I don't think we're going to know the answer for some time.
Or this prediction that we wouldn't know something until this summer?
I don't know if we're really going to know the outcome of the situation for 6 months to a year. Hasbro has said that they don't release sales figures. And I think Hasbro is likely to be vague if asked about things in the Q&A's. But having been to the stores, sales seem to have been solid. But there's the potential that the leg defect might deter Hasbro from doing big vehicles again.
Anyways, I'm just giving you a hard time. It's great that it looks like a Turbo Tank actually is coming and I think most of us around here are looking forward to it.

Did you check out the UK Toy Fair handout? It says Christmas 2009.

Yeah, I saw it and the news is great. I guess I'm just not going to get too excited until we see pics... but I really do think that it's going to kick ass... and more than anything, I want to surround it with McQuarrie Snowtroopers. :)

Just bumping this up since Toy Fair is coming up this weekend (right?). What is everyone hoping, or expecting, to see for the Star Wars line? Personally, I think we should at least see the next two waves of TLC (AOTC and ROTJ) since we've already seen protos for some of those in SW Insider. It would be nice to get a little peek beyond that as well. Hopefully we'll see a look at the Evolutions packs due this spring, but wasn't there news that those were to possibly be retailer exclusives? If so, maybe we won't see those. I hope we get a good look at the actual Juggernaut toy, and learn more about that as well. Other than that, I hope there are a few surprises that we haven't seen or heard about much. Anyways, I'm really looking forward to seeing what SW has in store for the first part of this year. It was nice seeing all the Marvel/DC related stuff from NYCC this past weekend, but I sort of missed seeing SW.
-
I'm hoping we see a Rebel Soldier with a softgoods skirt. :)
Seeing the Juggernaught compared to figures will be nice too, if they roll it out. Beyond that, just seeing some future figures will be nice, and maybe we'll even hear some surprises... TF usually doesn't shock anyone, but you never know.
-
Seeing the Juggernaught compared to figures will be nice too, if they roll it out.
If it is anywhere close to the scale of the concept drawings above, they could have a Hasbro rep drive it out, like they do at auto shows when they are unveiling a car...
I'm thinking there will be four or five surprises, that is four or five items that I haven't seen any speculation about. It was at Toy fair last year that the Walmart BAD sets were introduced, at least one or two of them, right?
-
More Willrow Hood goodness?
-
I think we'll see the new ships (Vulture and Magna Guard...) and at least waves 3, 4 and 5. Also, they do show exclusives now at TF, correct? If so, those Jedi packs might be there. I'm betting that the Clone Wars will have a ton of stuff, seeing that it's a big hit and was jsut picked up for season 2.
-
Gawd - this is like worse than Christmas as a kid or that Sear's Wish Book.....Can't come soon enough. :)
-
Also, they do show exclusives now at TF, correct?
The exclusives were in the Collector Presentation slides last year at Toy Fair, but not in the actual product showroom for photography. I imagine this year will be the same.
I am hoping to see the RotJ wave, just to see which Skiff Guards they settled on and to see what the BAD figures will be for the RotJ wave and the AotC wave. Seeing the 2nd ANH wave would be gravy, but I'm not expecting it.
-
Hopefully we'll se at least two complete waves beyond ESB wave 6.
-
So, what was everyone's impressions of Toy Fair? Did you like what you saw, was there anything you missed? Overall, I think that things looked pretty good. Clone Wars is obviously the focus right now, so the lack of a lot of OT or even movie stuff is sometimes disappointing. That being said, what is on the way looks great. I have to say, especially basic figure-wise, Hasbro rarely misses much anymore. Most to all of the basic figures - particularly the Legacy Collection - look great. Articulation is up all around, the sculpts are pretty good, and the figures in general are just a better quality these days. For the most part, we're getting the "VOTC quality" in basic figures these days (continuing from ROTS days). Also, I have to say I'm pretty happy as this seems to be the "year of Obi-Wan", with us getting "ultimate" versions of TPM, AOTC, and ANH Obi this year.
The Juggernaut Turbo Tank looks pretty cool, and it was a little surprising to see the Republic Tank in the starfighter assortment. That might be something we actually hadn't seen yet. The others (Vulture/Magna Guard) look good too. The Y-Wing looks neat in the deluxe vehicle assortment, but we'll see if they can make it worth the $60 price. I'm disappointed - but not surprised - at the lack of OT vehicles. Still, what is on the way looks good. Hopefully we'll see a couple next year for Empire's 30th Anniversary.
Glad to see the Evolution packs, but the WM exclusive thing could be iffy. I'm glad to see the Target and Wal-Mart 2 packs continuing, as those are pretty cool. It looks like - at least for some of them - they are using/making better quality figures. Nice to see the deluxe assortment return, with some "mini-rig" type things possibly on the way. Also, I was a little disappointed we didn't see the Galactic Heroes AT-AT, although I'm sure that will be at SDCC. I'm quite happy to see Ackbar on the way in that line though.
Overall, things look good to me for the year. It also seems like we're going to have quite a break again until the new line/packaging change in the fall. Not a lot of the announced stuff is before August it seems.
-
I agree. Big year for me and my Obi-Wan focus. I also like the Rebel pilots coming out whether they are in comic pack, evolution, or battle pack form. The ships look nice, but most will be a pass for me due to lack of space. Looks like they held back some good stuff for SDCC (Willrow Hood being the first thing to come to mind), so it will be interesting to see what they have there.
I am also excited about the two Force FX sabers they showed. Wish I could get a release date on them!
-
I think the Phantom Menace wave and the Eopie mail-away was my favorite thing shown. I'm also looking forward to the animated Jawas 2-pack and the new OT Galactic Heroes sets.
-
Some god stuff there. Finally a good shot of HK-47. I'm all over the TX-130 tank. (though I'm a little disappointed that the sides down swivel downward a little as they should)
The Turbo Tank is a little less than expected, but I'm still getting one.
Animated Jawas, cool!
And I'm coming out of retirement to army build the Gungan Warrior. I plan on getting 40 of them. Then I'll slip back into retirement again...
Lots more goodness, but these stood out for me, off the top of my head.
-
I know I've read some miscellaneous rumblings here and there, but was there a Q and A this year from Hasbro? Just curious if there were any other nuggets of info that weren't in the official presentation. I thought I read somewhere that they "claimed" that the Juggernaut was the only big vehicle this year, but with all the attempted secret keeping lately, its hard to know what to believe. I'd just like to know how much I need to try to save for :).
As for the "break" topic again, I'm wondering if its again the fact that Hasbro has a lot of "irons in the fire" with the movie properties again this year - and a lot of attention is being paid to Wolverine, Transformers 2, and GI Joe. With the new season of CW starting in the fall, it looks like a lot of the product will hit then. It seems like every year is really "back heavy" anymore.
-
It seems that Hasbro is trying to divide their promotional attention. They'll be promoting two movie lines (Transformers and GI Joe) and relaunching the Star Wars line for the second season of Clone Wars. That seems to be a reasonable explanation for the gap, but Hasbro will certainly be leaning on Star Wars to come through in the 4th quarter for earnings as they did last year. Especially in light of the news of Star Wars being the top license for 2008.
-
Hopefully we'll se at least two complete waves beyond ESB wave 6.
And we did. It was kind of disappointing. :(
-
Was there any mention of the "Live Action" stuff for Star Wars? When Rob and I were there they had "Promotional" type sign talking about all the stuff we would be seeing in years to come.
-
I've heard nobody mention that at all anywhere... That sucks. I'd like a hint at what the show's been up to since it's sort of fallen off the radar.
-
All of the "new" stuff looked great. But anything with repaints in it, at this point, is a big pass for me. I also have no interest in the comic packs coming up. So for me, the single carded figs are what I'm sticking with, and they look great. That TPM wave is one of the best Prequel waves ever.
-
I liked the Vong/Katarn pack but I agree, the comic sets were a bit underwhelming. I'm pretty geeked for the WM exclusive packs whenever they start to show up, even the Marvel Ewoks, but beyond that the comic packs are so-so... The LUke w/Lumiya looked goofy to me and Lumiya looked underarticulated (what happened to more articulation with a price hike on those sets? Meh).
I'm actually pretty stoked to see the hover tank... I thought that was one of the neater surprises. It looks to-scale too judging by the hatch. Thank god it's a small thing to begin with. The Droid Fighter is high on my list too... There was really some great stuff shown, but the increase in prices on almost everything means it's easier for me to pass on things like the Juggernaught and ships that aren't perfect.
-
I thought everything looked great for the most part. Picked the right year to cut back though. I'm a carded collector (for now) so I can't really comment too much on the figures to the level as others but that they all look fantastic. The CW mini-rig was a real shocker for me though - looks like Hasbro finally listened to AP on that one. Hopefully we get some more OT/PT versions.
-
Jesse from the pictures I have seen of Lumiya she is fully SA, you cant get much more articulated than that, I know the torso isnt ball jointed but I can live with that (its swivel which is fine).
Also the coloring on Lumiya is alot better than the coloring we have been getting, even the Luke looks ok. Also digging the lightwhip, I hope when they go back to do more Marvel Star Wars characters they dont screw the pooch and make more like Lumiya in style unique characters with good paint jobs and SA all the way in the limbs and head, would be nice to get a ball jointed torso but I can live without it.
I am actually glad Hasbro took their time on these comic pack figures and hope they look as good when the are released and not mucked up.
-
Lumiya didn't look to have knee joints to me. I'll have to look again.
-
I downloaded the Powerpoint presentation and Lumyia's knees look articulated. The ankles do not though.

Tough call on the knees, but no ankles

I think I was going by actual photos from the show and they weren't as clear... She's improved but I still find that set a little goofy. I do like that whip though, that's neat.
-

I revise my claim. The Hasbro photos, RS photo (http://www.rebelscum.com/TF2009/Hasbro1/image62.asp), JTA photo (http://www.jeditemplearchives.com/swexperience/toyfair2009/hasbro/pages/02multi020.html) and our (Yakface) photo (http://www.yakface.com/Features/toyfair2009/hasbro/images/05.html) seem to convey that there is no leg articulation at all other than hip. Also most pic have the same leg stance, which scream preposed/statuesque to me.
-
I think I can still make out the pin lines in those photos now, but it does hide the joint very well. i think it's there, but just very, very hard to see... I'd not checked out those presentation photos of it, so I think I'm the one who was mistaken.

Look a little closer at that JTA photo Jayson. The knee articulation is pretty well concealed, but you can see a seam as well as the pin in one of Lumiya's knee joints.
-
Thanks Nick. The more I think about it, why would they sculpt a horizontal seam there if was a static leg pose? Articulated it is.
-
I noticed that Adam May has answered a few Toy Fair related questions over at the Galactic Blogger (http://www.galacticblogger.com/blogger/). He mentions that there will indeed be one pod in that Gunship battle pack, that there will be no dais in 2009 (although maybe one shown at SDCC?), and a few other details.
-
To be honest I am glad they didnt give Lumiya ankle joints, can everyone remember Cankle Leia from the Comic Pack last year, lol.
And she has most definitely got SA Knees and Elbows, however thats for now, god knows what she will look like finished, we are talking about Hasbro here.
-
To be honest I am glad they didnt give Lumiya ankle joints
Um... I admit that I'm not paying too much attention because she's EU lameness, but I thought we just concluded that they did give her ankle joints? ???
-
I thought it was knee joints, no ankle ones...
Regardless, I just want her for customizing anyway.
-
Rob she has Knee Joints, Elbow Joints and Ball Neck as pluses.
As minuses she has no Ball Torso or Ankle Joints (but to me this is a god send, I cringe everytime I look at Cankle Leia).
-
Who the frak cares about Lumiya? I don't even know who she is and could care less. You guys really think this was the coolest thing shown at Toy Fair? Me thinks she needs her own thread if you guys are that into her.
-
I am not that into Lumiya or that comic. However, I do remember her from back in the old days and her image in the comic book. I think it may have some OT vibes from that era. I actually like the figure but probably will not buy it. I am just happy to actually recognize the character. Some of these comic packs and EU packs I have no idea who is who.
Anyway, I liked the TPM wave and some of the AOTC waves shown. I am happy the Clone Wars series is doing well. I may pick up a few of those figures. I actually liked the Turbo Tank. I will not be breaking down any retailers door to snag it right away but will probably end up with it. Oh, and I will probably get most if not all of the Geonosis 2 packs. I know they did not show them all but it's enough for me to buy the two packs they showed and the prototypes of the other Jedi look pretty good. I am assuming the sets will be decent. I actually did not care for the Wal-Mart 2 packs. The droids really did not do much for me. I am not really feeling the Evolutions sets either. It's the same thing with me on those sets. I like one or two figures from a set but just don't want to pay the full price for the other figures I do not care for.
The only thing that really bums me out about Star Wars is the price increase on everything. I think Hasbro may screw themselves with the $60 ships. I thought there whole thing awhile back was trying to get all ships around the magical $20 range which is fine. But now you want to jack up $30-$40 vehicles into the $60 range? Good luck with that Hasbro. Now I hear the basic figures are going to be in the $8.50 plus range? Wow, I just don't think the figures are really worth that price. I know parents are going to scoff at that. I am sure they will still be bought but it may not be "Sure, I will buy 3 or 4 for junior." Now it will just be 1 or 2 or none.

Who the frak cares about Lumiya? I don't even know who she is and could care less. You guys really think this was the coolest thing shown at Toy Fair? Me thinks she needs her own thread if you guys are that into her.
Chill out Mikey. Just because you don't collect Comic Packs doesn't mean that the rest of can't comment on them.
Personally I don't give a FRAK if she has articulated knees or not. It just means I am going to end up with 3 sets of these figures so I can display both heads with my Jedi and Sith figures.
-
I'm not into Lumiya and I'm usually even less into Marvel stuff, but they did at least attempt a good paintjob on this set, so I'll probably still buy it. The non-realistic paintjob stuff from Marvel was all easy to pass on. I almost wish it had continued.

Ifett whats with the attitude did we do something to annoy you, or are you always this happy. ;D
You do realise that people like the Marvel Star Wars characters, and this happens to be the best one they have offered us so far from the Marvel Comic Packs.
Also I dont think anyone has said this is the best offering from Toy Fair, however I am well pleased this was a decent offering from Hasbro seeing I have been waiting since last year to see this figure made.
Oh and Ifett it does state as the subject header Toy Fair 2009, and she was at Toy Fair 2009, so she should be spoke about in this thread along with the other figures, so Ifett what did you think was the best offering figure wise.
-
so Ifett what did you think was the best offering figure wise.
I think you need to get off my ass Cookie, but please continue your discussion about Lumiya.
My favorite had to have been the MY LITTLE PONY NEWBORN CUTIES line. I'm probably going to stop collecting Star Wars alltogether and focus on that line. I was also diggin the STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE BERRY CAFE Playset. My clones are going to be in heaven.
Peace

They already are (actually $8.79) at some (or most) local Targets in the Twin Cities. Even TRU has them beat at $7.99!
Mikey - ;D You funny! You know, some Strawberry Shortcake and friends would make nice friends for clones and Joes.

I gotta agree with knashdx here. Just because you don't like the CPs doesn't mean plenty of the rest of us can't. Don't buy em, but let us talk about them.
-
Go right ahead Nick. I already said I'll allow it. :-* :D

I am a little pissed at you though because I thought I was going to be the only one collecting the Strawberry Shortcake line and now I'm going to have to compete with you. I heard your work Target was going to be the "Plymouth Target for Legacy wave 5" for the Shortcake stuff too.
-
Thanks Ifett, I will talk about whoever I want figure wise, however I did ask for a genuine answer about which figure you liked so we could get the conversation steered away from Lumiya and onto a figure you like better so we could talk about that one, and your the one jumping people for what they like, not me - also I would like to point out Knashdx told you to chill as well but you said squat to him.
As for what you collect be it Strawberry Shortcake or My Little Pony Cuties Line all the power to you, hopefully they may mellow you out, lol (J/K).
Now seriously what figures did you think looked cool from the Star Wars Line so we can talk about them and stop this bickering between us before it gets out of hand, I actually really want to know, as their was some decent comic packs - for example Kyle Katarn and the Yuuzhan Vong and Darth Krayt and Sigel Dare just to name 2, or did you like the offerings from the Basic line up or even the new Clone Wars line up, what did you like.
-
My opinions don't really matter because I'm a carded/boxed collector, but I've already commented in this thread earlier that I was suprised to see the CW mini-rig. Yes, it's really lame, but I like it.
Ryan & Nick are friends and I have my own reasons for responding/not responding. I understand you're new here so I won't say things to you that I shouldn't that others would.
Peace out yo - and please talk about anything and everything Toy Fair from this point.

Don't know if this has been discussed and I missed it; but is the reason that Hasbro didn't show any Mighty Muggs at Toy Fair because they are moving towards a TRU exclusive by year end? Actually all the new figures that have been shown online are exclusive to either an etailer or a particular store. My understanding is that part of Toy Fair is to show to prospective retail buyers what items are coming, so they'll order from Hasbro. Therefore, since no Muggs will be available at Walmart, or the local grocery chain, etc, there is no reason for Hasbro to show them. Is that a correct understanding?

Yes, you have that correct - Toy Fair is mainly for the retail buyers. Since the Muggs are only for TRU now, there is/was no reason to showcase them for buyers who can't buy them.
Hasbro said there would be new Titaniums and Muggs to be seen at SDCC, so collectors of those lines just have to wait a while to see what they will be buying in the Fall.

Ifett yes I was surprised to see the return of the Mini-Rigs, looking forward to getting some of these as well, I am hoping they may get round to doing some Vintage Mini-Rigs but updated, I think that maybe cool.
Also Ifett I aint new, my name and rank is new to these boards, but thats because I couldnt log in under my old name for these boards, as I have forgotten the password and moved on from using the old email account on yahoo which was connected to that one, my old name was Captain_Sparrow, lol, memory like a sieve.
Jeff if thats the case about exclusives I wonder why the Walmart Exclusives and the Target Exclusives were shown, as they are going to be solely to either Retailer, I presume its because they had to show them somewhere, but it would have been nice to showcase a few of the MM's for the people who collect them (I dont collect these, however I do collect the Bobble Heads, so I was pleased to see these showcased).

When I was talking about "not showing exclusives to buyers" I was talking about stuff shown in the actual toy showroom, not stuff in the Collector/Media presentation, which is a separate thing. Hasbro does show some store exclusives in the slideshow presentation for the media/collectors, but those products are not usually in the actual showroom booth display that the toy buyers visit.

I see I have never been to a Toyfair so I wouldnt know how it was set up, but that makes sense and thaks for clearing that up for me, I always wondered.
