Title: Collecting is an Addiction!
Post by: dustrho on November 27, 2002, 12:28 AM
Isn't collecting Star Wars items an addiction???  It's so bad that I got my wife addicted to it too!  I don't have access to sites like eBay where I work, so during the day my wife checks out what's up for auction on eBay.  If she thinks something is worth while she calls me, and usually I end up buying it!

What an awesome wife I have!

It is definitely an addiction.  I just wish it wasn't so hard to find figures and that is wasn't so expensive.  I guess there are things that are even more addictive and expensive out there.

Hi, I'm Auriette, and I'm a Star Wars collector.  Whenever anyone tells me I'm addicted, I say, well, the first step to recovery is wanting to get better, and I don't wanna.  There's lots worse ways to spend time and money, and I can look around every room in my house and find something Star Wars to smile at.

Thanks to bad distribution, it seems my addiction is going away cold-turkey. I need my fix of toys, man!

I'm definitely an addict, though I prefer to look at it as a freakishly anal obsessive compulsive collecting disorder really...    :o

As if there's a difference...   ::)

I agree I am hooked, I can't count all the items I have seen that I just had to have and it drives you till you get the little sucker. Ah but the feeling of completing the hunt and getting the object is a rewarding feeling.

I just happened to notice all the pics of the new "Clone Wars" line on GH's website (http://www.galactichunter.com/absoluteig/gallery.asp?categoryid=2910 (http://www.galactichunter.com/absoluteig/gallery.asp?categoryid=2910)), and I am completely drooling all over myself.  Did you see those new Clone Troopers?????????????  I am just dying to get my hands on them.  I've heard they're coming out with a Clone Trooper 3-pack.  How about the new bounty hunter Durge?  Damn, I cannot wait!

At least we're not out gambling or skydiving (not that these things are bad in moderation) but instead collect things that: A- Look Cool
         B- You Can Play With
         C- You can Sell if You NEED to
         D- Let us connect with other nuts like ourselves ;D

Boy is it ever!  But there are certainly worse things to be addicted to.  Maybe not cost wise if you buy as much SW stuff as I do though!  At least it's a fun and healthy addiction.  I'm more than pleased to consider myself an addict!  I'm sure George Lucas thinks the same about me also.   :P
