Are we dealing with "Dynamic Pricing" with the $24.99 price at Amazon?  Or was there a major error here?

It's interesting to see how the tournament shook out.  The support for The Bad Batch, with the exception of Omega, was pretty strong, with some lasting to the Elite Eight and Final Four.  And the big news is what happened AFTER the Finals.  Mara Jade is announced as the winner, and hours later Hasbro announces that Asajj Ventress, the runner up, is on the way this year to the Vintage Collection.

And Hasbro went on to reveal two more characters that were in the bracket tournament on the date that the tournament results were announced.  I don't know about you, but this doesn't seem like a coincidence.  What's even more interesting is that a figure that is in the same case as the newly announced Asajj Ventress, Carson Teva and Agent Kallus is the re-release of Ponda Baba.  If you recall, Ponda Baba was announced on February 26th and made available for preorder on February 27th.  But for 3 figures in that wave to be held back for a month and announced the day after March Madness 2025 ends seems a little too coincidental.  Hasbro has made it clear that they follow the tournament every year.  Did Hasbro just want to look good here?  I'm having some difficulty giving Hasbro the benefit of the doubt because this looks calculated on their part.

As for what might have been?  This is what the 2025 bracket matchups would have been in the first round if Ventress, Carson and Kallus had been removed in light of their pending release.  The characters that would have moved up in the rankings were Shaak Ti, Mon Mothma (ANDOR), and Princess Leia (Ewok Village).

In light of Yularen's speech in season 1, where he mentions speaking with the Emperor personally?  Dedra's career has certainly been on the rise.  And I think it's possible that she could draw the sort of attention that she might not want.

I can't say that I was surprised by the Dengar reissue announcement.  That rumor had been kicking around for quite a while, so seeing it finally come to fruition settles that bit.  Not everything can be an all-new release, although I think the Snowtrooper Commander double dip is more a matter of WHEN rather than IF.

It was great having Paul Sun-Hyung Lee take part in the livestream to reveal the Carson Teva figure.  He's an asset to the franchise, and I've really enjoyed his character in the Mandoverse.  I think the choice to make him with his leather jacket is a cool way to change things up for an X-Wing pilot.  And if the reception for the figure is really good?  Perhaps Hasbro will offer an alternate version without the jacket as a pack-in figure in the event that they release a Carson Teva X-Wing.

The Agent Kallus announcement was really nice to see, too.  In light of just how many REBELS character slots were on the Yakface Rumor List, I had a feeling that Kallus could be on the way.  But seeing an actual announcement is that much better.  The likeness looks like a great realistic interpretation of an animated character.

I'm also happy to see what Hasbro did with the Landspeeder.  It looks like a substantial update from the previous release.  And the inclusion of that Deluxe Luke Skywalker with the additional Tatooine gear makes sense.  The VC344A designation is fine by me, as is the deluxe cardback.  I for one don't mind the larger cardback as much as some in the community have made a stink about it.  The cardback art is nice, too.  The one puzzling bit here?  If Hasbro is going to reveal something like the Landspeeder's box art, then they should be prepared to also announce the figures featured in that art - like the new Obi-Wan Kenobi.

Asajj Ventress was a complete surprise to me, and a very welcome one!  She's been on my March Madness Top 25 lists for the past 3 years, and I voted for her in the March Madness final.  I was disappointed this morning when I saw that Mara Jade had won the 2025 SWTVC March Madness Final, but then this announcement made it clear to me that Asajj Ventress had actually won!  The lack of the cloak is disappointing, but it's not a dealbreaker for me.

As for how new figure announcements might line up with a major fan poll?  The March Madness bracket was announced at the end of February, and three characters that were in the bracket were announced today - Asajj Ventress, Carson Teva and Agent Kallus.  Does anyone think that Hasbro should consider working with fan groups like SWTVC so that a slot in their TVC bracket tournament might be opened up on account of a figure being announced within the next calendar month?  I think it's worth considering.  I don't know what characters got those #65, 66 and 67 slots in the nomination process.  But the ripple effects on the bracket might have been considerable.

The Live section of the Hasbro Pulse YouTube channel is currently showing Transformers episodes from the 80's.  I guess it's Transformers Day???

Wonder if they can send dual livestreams?

I noticed that shot of Dedra Meero, too!  It didn't seem insignificant.  And it sounds like the final arc could be centered around the intel about Project Stardust.

The TESB entry makes me wonder if Hasbro is already planning on the Snowtrooper double dip?  Could Hasbro have been planning on releasing the Snowtrooper Commander shortly after the release of the VC349 Snowtrooper?  I would not put it past them to do that.

I would like to renew my desire to have an Ebon Hawk as a Haslab.

It would force Hasbro to load us up with KOTOR I & II figures.

I always thought the Ebon Hawk was a pretty great ship!  I think that could be a possibility for a couple of reasons:
1 - Knights Of The Old Republic is regarded as one of the best RPG video games of all time, and likely one of the greatest Star Wars games ever.  The game was originally released in 2003 and people still talk about it quite a bit.
2 - A KOTOR remake has reportedly been in the works for some time.  What is it's status?  Unknown at this time.  But if it rolls out to even half of the acclaim of the original game?  That's going to be a BFD.

If that KOTOR remake hits in a big way?  And if there's the possibility of some sort of show / movie related to KOTOR?  I think an Ebon Hawk Haslab campaign could be a possibility.

The back and forth between Steve and Paul Sun-Hyung Lee on social media feels a little bit like "a work", which leads me to believe that yes, a Carson Teva related announcement is coming.  But I think it's not a bad idea for Hasbro to get Star Wars creators involved in the announcement of figures of their characters.  It was actually pretty cool how Hasbro got Emily Swallow involved in the announcement of the Black Series roleplay Armorer helmet, as well as the TVC Armorer's Forge playset.  Getting "Angry Appa" involved in the launch of a Carson Teva figure is great - especially since Paul is a collector / fan with his own YouTube channel where he talks toys and collectibles.  I think a TVC Carson Teva X-Wing would be a great way to build on a promotional partnership.  It's an off the shelf design that would only need new deco.  But I think the bigger thing to consider might be Hasbro partnering with creators to broaden their reach promotionally.

As for what gets revealed this morning?  It's rumored to be pretty substantial, but I'll wait to see for myself.  I think Hasbro might be holding out some of the really big reveals for next month at Star Wars Celebration in Japan.

The rumor mill has TWO vehicles in the pipeline for The Vintage Collection.  Hasbro has already revealed the Landspeeder, and I think the official rollout for that is coming in this next livestream.

As for the other vehicle?  In light of just how much it was featured in the trailers for ANDOR season 2, I think Hasbro's going to take on the TIE Avenger.  It seems like the TIE Avenger is the central focus of one of the story arcs in the new season.  And because of that?  I think Hasbro might reveal the vehicle as early as Star Wars Celebration in Japan, or at SDCC 2025.  My money is on Celebration Japan, though.  It's more timely.

As for a possible Haslab?  I can see Hasbro possibly going back to the well with The Black Series again, but it would have to be a home run - something SO OBVIOUS, and SO WANTED that there's no question about whether or not it would get backed.  I also think that it's got to have a low enough price point to draw in the Black Series customer base.  I don't know for certain, but I think the GI Joe Classified HISS Tank might have been one of the most reasonable priced campaigns at $299.  I think that should be the target price for a TBS Haslab.

If Hasbro is going the vehicle route?  I have two wants - the U-Wing sized up to a size where it can fulfill its role as a troop carrier, and Luthen Rael's Fondor Haulcraft.  I think my desire for a SOLO style Millennium Falcon is probably too big of an ask.

Mara Jade VS Asajj Ventress for the finals?  It's easy for me to pick this - Asajj Ventress.

Here character turned from that of a henchman (henchwoman?) for Dooku in the Tartakovsky Clone Wars into something far better developed in the 2008 Clone Wars series and beyond.  She was the one executing the plans in the movie that launched The Clone Wars in 2008.  She was a device for showing the treachery of the Sith when Sidious and Dooku tried to dispose of her.  Then she was the device for introducing the Night Sisters of Dathomir into TCW, and that in turn brought to light the notion of disparate factions of Force users who tapped into the Force in different ways from the Jedi and the Sith.  And then the long arc of Ventress finding her way after her exile by Dooku led to some interesting storytelling, including her working her way into the final season of The Bad Batch.

I could definitely see the potential for a double dip on the V344 Luke.  The landspeeder comes with his rifle.  But then I think about the TVC release from around 2011, and there was no pack-in figure.

Seeing how I'm pushing for Ventress to win?  Here's some of my reasoning:

WHAT HAS PREVIOUSLY BEEN RELEASED:
-Clone Wars (2002)
-Tartakovsky animated style (2003)
-ROTS Battle Pack (2005)
-The Clone Wars animated style (2008)
-The Legacy Collection Comic 2-Pack (2008)

It's pretty eye-opening to me that the most recent 3.75" version of Ventress is 17 years old.  Especially in light of how her character was developed over the course of The Clone Wars series which debuted in 2008.  Only one of the figures actually has articulated knees, and that's the 2008 Clone Wars animated version - not the one from the 2008 Legacy Collection comic pack.  The Black Series version is really good, but that's a 6" figure.  That could be a good template for a TVC version of Ventress.  But the basic features of things like softgoods, an excellent likeness, and reasonable levels of articulation like knees and ankles don't seem like extravagant asks.  I'm not one that has gotten over the top discussing rocker ankles or the new hip joint design.  If that had been offered as a 3.75" TBS figure?  I wouldn't make the argument for a new Ventress, because I recognize how much "Because Vintage Cardback" is not a good enough reason.  But reasonable, modern figure design standards?  I think that's worth arguing for.

There's also the matter of what has been released from the same entertainment.  The Clone Wars is actually one of the best represented entertainment sources in TVC.  It only seems natural that some of the villains would get a similar degree of attention from Hasbro.
