My dealer says I'll have mine by the end of next week.  ;D

These are great.

Phruby, that Kenner style Rebel Trooper (Han + Death Star Commander) is just brilliant!

Thanks for the understanding, dudes.

I am slowly catching on to just how different these boards are from RS.

I am going to stop now before I start to sound like an actual whiney Canadian.  ;D

I think I've derailed this thread far enough.  ;D

Sorry 'bout that. I am defensive about Canada, as a lot of Canadians are I guess.  ;D

Please accept my apologies, I just didn't get it.   :(

BTW, DSJ, your avatar is mesmerizing...  :)

Yes, it's like a lava lamp...

Hey Aaron, nice score! Is it unusual for you guys to score stuff first?

Or two lava lamps...

Anyway, yeah, Canada misses out a lot on distro. For one thing we don't have Target up here of K-Mart, so all those exclusives never make it this way.  :(

Hasbro Canada is not distro-ing the final 12 ROTS figs up here either. I think that's why we just happened to get TSC so soon. It has happened a few times before that the final wave of a line didn't come up here to regular stores. Transitional OTC wave comes to mind as well.

As far as getting stuff first, unless there is a solid release date like with the ROTS line, things usually show up State-side first and slowly filter their way up here.

That answer long enough for ya?  ;D

Saga Collection '06 / Re: Battle of Carkoon Wave

I managed to score the Carkoon Wave at TRU yesterday (as seen in the TSC Recent Purchases Thread).

I am really pleased with the overall quality of the figures. I told myself I wouldn't be buying Fett or Barada, but after seeing them, I couldn't resist.

The paint app on these guys is top notch. Rather than basic or super articulation across the board, they have a more character specific articulation. Bib, for example, has a movable head and lower arms and that's it. His lack of articulation, however, is more than made up for with a beautifully detailed sculpt.

He is my second fave in the wave after Boussh. Plenty of articulation here to go with a great sculpting job. Really cool accessories top it all off. The figure is in perfect scale. She is SMALL! Coming up to just over Chewbacca's waist and up to Han's shoulder.

In the new sculpts I can see several areas where Hasbro could have cut corners in the sculpts or paint apps and they didn't. If I have 1 gripe about this wave, it would be that I would liked to have seen a VOTC Fett instead of the action feature Carkoon Fett.

But overall, I am really pleased with these figures. I am really excited about what else Saga 2006 has in store!URLNameftp://http://

The starburst cards are sought out by international collectors.  :P

For sure. I am an opener, but I keep my packaging. These work out pretty good for me because I only have to keep 1 card per wave.

BTW, DSJ, your avatar is mesmerizing...  :)

Back to topic- I just found the Carkoon Wave at TRU in Toronto Canada!

We aren't getting the fianl ROTS 12 up here, but at least there is something for under the tree this year.  ;D

I just noticed that rishakra and CHEWIE's avatar gifs are very similar in theme.

Do you guys shop at the same kid getting hit in the head with a ball gif shop?  ;D

That looks pretty darn good for a PS newbie.  ;)

You'll be a master soon enough!  :D

One thing that works quite well, is taking pictures as low down to the ground as you can. Then PS images of figures taken at eye level. This helps to create the illusion that the figures are at people size scale.

CHEWIE and In Rem bpth do this really well.

i gotcha tedious, you're right regular spackling will shrink.

where did you get that stuff?

Home Depot.

It might be like Plastiwood. I've never used Plastiwood.

I also discovered that it doesn't need to be primed before painting.

Yeah, In Rem, I never would have guessed you have no training in PS. Very nice stuff. You have a natural talent.  ;)
