i am more than happy to add to this thread with more praise of david (boba binks). he hooked me up with some much needed (and hard to find in my parts of the world) stuff, and at a more than fair price. i actually just wrote him an email asking if he wants more money from me!! honestly, ask him... i did.

thanks again david!!!  ;D

TV-9D9 / Re: CLONE WARS Cartoon... Reactions
« on: November 13, 2003, 10:15 AM »
one thing i am a little confused about... in the comic books, there were like 3-4 blue arc troopers, and all of them were killed with the exception of one. in the cartoon, it seems like there are only 2 blue and 1 red arc remaining alive. i know that the book and the show take place at different times, but which came first?

no offense, but i hope we have... but i don't have a lot of faith after the last 2 weeks. it just seems like the 'hawks remembered who they really are, and that they didn't deserve to be 6-2... so now they are 6-3, and slowly slipping away i fear.  :'(

Watto's Junk Yard / movie review: shredder
« on: November 12, 2003, 11:35 PM »
since i get screeners for movies, and have to watch a lot of movies for work (a lot...) so that i can see if i want to order them for the store i work at or skip them, i decided to put up some reviews on some of them from now on, as i watch them...

today's review: shredder

plot: when seven sexy snowboarders break into an abandoned ski lodge for a weekend of hot partying and heavy powder, they soon find themselves stalked by a psychotic killer who plans to put them all... on ice!! (taken from the box itself, i did not - repeat - not write any of that cheese)

release date (us): 12/16/03

review: well, since this is my first "review" let me start off by saying this: i am a horror movie freak. any kind of movie that has blood, gore, dismemberment, exploding heads, etc. etc. - it's for me. my kind of movie. now, this movie has not one, but two scenes where actor's heads are chopped off. there are about 6 killings all together, but other than the heads and the chick who gets caught in the ice chopper machine, not much gore.  :'(

kinda lame, choppy camera work, mediocre (at best) snowboarding, bad, bad audio - the synch on the audio was horrible, half the time the actor's mouths are moving and forming completely different words/sentences than what you hear - predictable killer, predictable ending. all in all, i would give it 1/5. unless you really really want to see a bunch of snowboarders get killed, i would say skip it. i know i won't be getting this piece of garbage for my store.

be on the lookout for more of my movie reviews, as i get time to watch all these lame ass movies i have...

well, i pretty much collect anything that has a star wars logo or character on it, some more religiously than others. books, cd's, posters, props, christmas ornaments, statues, games - video and board, you name it, i probably got it if i could afford it.

but what do you have the most of?

for me, it's t-shirts. i have close to 100 t-shirts in my collection, and it grows constantly. almost every day i'm checking ebay for shirts that i don't have. and in case you are wondering, yes - i do wear them all, just not at the same time  ;)

so what do you collect, and what do you have the most of?

 :'( :-\ ??? :(

damn, i want that hat. they had a shirt a few years ago available through the fan club that said pearl jam on the front but it was written in a way that made it look like an old school venom logo, and on the back it said "death to false metal"... i kept forgetting to order it, and when i remembered they were no longer available  :'(

BTW, what version of the OT did you give him, and from where did it originally come?

it is the re-release, non-special edition version, copied from the laserdiscs, that someone from scotland in the rpf was selling. i also have the 5 star special editions, but i'm not sure if i'm going to let him borrow those...

By the way, what the hell does jokabofe mean and how do you say it? ;) :P

lol... as far as how to say it... you got me. as far as what it means, it goes like this (and i know i'm gonna hear about it, just like i heard about it when i told the story of how i came to be a seahawks fan... )

anyway, back in the day when i first got online i was using the abomination known as aol. so, you were forced to pick a screen name. of course, i went for the name of my favorite sw character, boba fett. but, alas, it was taken by some other fanboy already. and i didn't want to be bobafett213251, so i tried the "other" boba fett, jodo kast. but that, too, was taken. so, being the amazingly creative person that i am, i took the first two letters the first and last name of jodo kast and the first two letters of the first and last name of boba fett, and came up with jo ka bo fe. hey, it might be corny, but at least i know that wherever i go, i can sign up with that username and nobody ever has it ;D - and i don't want anybody going around signing up for stuff using my name now either  >:(

well, being one of the "old timers" here, i can say that i do remember seeing star wars on the big screen, sans "a new hope". i was 7 at the time, but  i remember it like it was yesterday. i was instantly hooked. this continued till about '84 - '85, when i discovered that girls don't like guys that play with toys, they like guys that play with guitars better. so i ditched all my sw stuff for a sweet les paul, which i still own today, along with several other guitars. around '93, i started getting back into star wars, when i noticed that the comic shop i went to weekly had a box set of the trilogy on vhs available for sale. i bought it, went home, and the rest is history. luckily for me, i hit ebay around that time, just before the "big bang" of star wars collecting, and was able to pick up plenty of vintage star wars toys cheap. and i do mean cheap. then with the potf reintroduced in '95, it was all down hill from there. and here's where i am today :)
