Hoth Han w/ Hood Up
Chewbacca
Probe Droid
K-3P0
R5-M2 (Black Headed Astromech)
-
Looks like that hood up headsculpt's getting some use, finally.
The probe droid looks to be a POTF2 repaint... Not a ton interesting. I'm hoping Chewie is less snowey, but I'm not hopeful for that. The Han and astromech make the set IMO. A clean K-3PO will be nice though too.
-
Especially if that K-3PO is based off of either R-3PO or Droid Factory C-3PO molds, as opposed to the old TC-14 based version.
-
Are there pics up yet?
-
Some are surfacing, but they seem to be from some random guy and aren't all very clear or at all large... The Hasbro event's still going on right now, if the timetable's holding up, so we should be seeing the photo blitzes before too, too long.
-
Where are these fuzzies located?
(I thought I mentioned the helmet...sorry.)

-
Awesome!
-
Very cool... :-\
Once again, it's gonna be an expensive year.
-
Hasbro may have just sold me my first battle pack!
-
Very awesome that we are finally getting the hood up sculpt.
-
It's a bit difficult to tell from that photograph, but K-3P0 seems to not be a straight repack of the 2000 POTJ version. It looks like it could either be the 2005 ROTS Threepio or the 2006 Pegwarming Champion of All Time Endor Threepio mold. Hmm. If that's the case (and if the Probe Droid is painted much better and is sans day-glo orange missles), this could be one BP I keep more than two figures out of! :)
-
Nice to know it's not an exclusive since it's at Toy Fair.
-
Looking at that 3PO I'd say it's a repaint of the Endor version. The ROTS one diddn't have jointed knees.
And he appears to be undamaged (pre- base assault)
-
It could also be a 4-LOM body. It is really hard to tell in that little image but I almost think I can make out articulated elbows... I could very easily be wrong. I guess we will see later today as the good pictures come in.
Either way though I'm in for one of this set. :)
-
I was thinking that 3PO body as well by the hands, but yeah that's a tough one to tell at this point.
-

You maybe right on that, also the hands look "open" like it could hold a blaster like 4-LOM can.
I'm leaning 4-LOM now. :P
-
No way. We're getting two Hoth Han's w/ the hood up (there's one in the droid factory sets too) and on top of that, this one comes with one of my all time wanted R5's. I guess I'm not cutting back so much after all...
-

That K-3PO isn't based off of 4-LOM...he's got a different look in the torso and shoulders from the standard 3PO. I'm still leaning towards the pull-apart AOTC Threepio.
-
This looks like a nice battle pack to me too. I'm glad we're actually getting that hood up version of Han, and I've been wanting to get a Probe Droid for awhile and have been waiting to see if we'd get a re-release. Like it was mentioned, it must not be "exclusive" either, so hopefully it won't be tough to find. Expensive year indeed.
-

SHIITE that is a NICE set!
Hood up Han (different coat color than the Droid factory 2-pack?)
Is that a NEW probe droid I see?! If so, AWESOME!
I'm really digging that R5 droid.
Much improved K-3PO
Only dud for me might be the Chewie.
That won't be enough to keep me from getting it.
Put me down for one!
Good set Hasbro, thanks!
-
MEGA BUY. Early Bird Chewie, a cool astromech, a new Protocol droid with the ultimate protocol body, a new (?) Probe Droid and Hoth Han WITH THE HOOD! I couldn't ask for a better Battle Pack.

I'd agree it isn't 4-Lom. But I'm sure that it isn't pull apart AOTC Threepio either, that version doesn't have articulate knees or a jointed wait. I think it is possible this may be one of the newish BAF droid sculpts.

With the lack of hydraulic pistons at the elbow joints, it sure looks 4-LOM-Y to me. I hope they keep the price on the battle packs at $20- but if figures go up to 7.50 +, it is going to be easier and easier for them to justify a price hike on these. At $20, I like it quite a bit. At $25, it is a good deal for those who don't have a lot of these characters already, but I would probably leave it at that price. An astromech and some upgrades isn't worth $25 + to me
-
With that close up shot you can see that the probe droid looks much better than the earlier release. Look sless cartoon like, i am downtfor this set.
-
Maybe that K-3PO uses the C-3PO Endor Throne sculpt? That would definitely fit with all of the articulation we see.
-

I'm pretty sure I see elbow pistons on that last, larger pic.
-
That K-3PO looks like the Ewok Deity version of C-3PO if you ask me. Look at the wires in the mid-section. The wires there were straight for that version of Threepio, and they appear to be the same way for K-3PO. And yay! Finally K-3PO doesn't have battle damage.
This entire Battle Pack is a winner in my book. Very nice paint work on the probe droid. We FINALLY get an R5-M2. We get Han with hood up in brown. And Early Bird Chewbacca finally gets reissued. Great figures all the way 'round.
-
the k3po actually looks like a battledroid c3po repainted with ball jointed legs. atleast thats what i think because it looks like the have the exact same arms.
-
that K-3po does look like AOTC 3po torso with the ewok diety legs. I definely buying this battle pack, you can't beat a set with Hood Up Han, EB Chewie (best Chewie ever), K-3po (which I don't have, never found him at retail), R5 unit, and an Probe Droid (the droid to me looks like the same version from 96 with updated paint job. you can see the end of the missile on him)
-
That's definitely not the POTF2 droid - just for comparison sake...
I'd wager it's a repaint of the 2006 R5-D4 -
(http://www.yakface.com/TGuide2004/ActionFigures/tsc/032/lfsm.jpg)
I think what you're seeing is the antenna, not a missle.
-
Rock's talking about the Probe Droid not the R5 droid, Justin.
-
I see pistons on the protocol droid's arms as well... Don't recall the droid facotry 3po having pistons on his arms, so I'm gonna say that at least his arms are from another figure. Looks good but not exactly a droid I was real excited to get (again). I'll take it though.
-
Ah, makes sense. Yeah looks like it's probably the POTF2 probe droid... which means it will be resculpted next year! ;)
-
Has anyone seen/read when this battle pack is expected to be released? I'm thought maybe that it was going to be in the "new" white packaging, since it was pictured in front of the mock up for the Clone Wars BP, so if that's the case I'm guessing a 7/26 or later release. Just wondering if anyone (Jeff?) heard anything more definite on this set, I'm really looking forward to it.

It's the old one with new paint alright. Looks pretty good though, much better paint scheme.
-
well, I'm just a smidge disappointed that it's the same old sculpt, but the paint job really does help it.
I'm still getting the set. The R5 droid and hood up Han were enough for me to get it, the repainted Probe Droid and the other figs are icing.
-
First I noticed the possible joints on the protocol droid. I kind of like this set before, I really like it now.
-
Outside of the missile firing crap I still think this sculpt can hang. the paint job really makes this look movie accurate. I am happy to see OTC as we have been getting a glutton of PT stuff. So I welcome everything we can get OTC.
(That sounds really desperate.........)
-
Now that I'm home from Toy Fair, I'm going to try to offer some closer looks at the figures...
It was definitely the PotF2 sculpt, and the R5 is definitely the new R5 sculpt.
-
Thanks for the pic Jeff (and for all the coverage). Its amazing how much better the POTF2 Probe Droid looks with a fresh coat of paint. I'm really looking forward to this BP, did you happen to hear if its coming towards the end of the year, or prior to the big 7/26 date?
-
I'm really looking forward to buying this set, it's perfect. Not one figure I don't like.
-

Word! Perfect score indeed!
A very rare feat for Battle Packs.
-
I ended up removing the firing missile from the POTF2 probe droid's head, and the "neck" that sticks down all the way underneath the droid, and it looks like I'll do the same here. Sure, multi-jointed articulation (like FX-7) and thinner antennae would have been cool, but I personally never hated the POTF2 sculpt.

What's so different about the Chewie? He looks pretty rehashed to me. But then again, I have been known to be blind.
-
Chewie is the Early Bird Chewie with a little snow painted on.
-
There's definitely some nice looking figures in this set, but all I really need is the R5 unit for my Astromech collection.

New boxed images from the gang at JediInsider...

Wow, Jediinsider's been getting a lot of images as of late!
This looks pretty good. Not the most exciting set by any means, but I'll pick it up... though this isn't a "must have."
-
I like the probe droid much better than the earlier release so iwill pick this set up.
-
I can see why some might not be super psyched for this set, but I'm definitely looking forward to it. It might be the fact of just seeing some more OT goodness with all this Clone Wars stuff going on right now, but I've never gotten a Probe Droid and was waiting for a "new" release - so this looks good to me. Plus, its got a new astromech, and I like the face that we're starting to see more "definitive" figures of the main characters (Han and Chewie in this case) used in packs like this.

You're not kidding how well would this have sold with the "action feature" Hoth Han & Raging Chewie w/snow job ;D
-
I'm really looking forward to this one. :)
The BP packaging seems to have changed this time around. Besides the obvious Legacy design it also seems deeper and neater rather than flat and tall with figures all over the place. It's kinda nice...
-
I'm looking forward to this. I want the variant hood up Han (the other coming in Wal*Mart Droid Factory 2-pack). As well, I think the R5 is spiffy! It goes well with K-3PO. I might even do a photonovel featuring those two. Kind of a counterpoint to R2/3PO.
The repainted Probe Droid looks decent even if it is the same mold.
-

Me too, and all they did was slap some new paint on it. :P
-
This will be the first battle pack I buy! (Although I did get some of the Tantive loose ones in a trade). R5-M2 is very recognizable to me unlike other paint schemes that I have to check to see where they're found. I'm also glad to swap out the K-3PO in my dio with this better-articulated one.

So is that the brown-coated / hood-up version? It doesn't look very brown in the pic, but the pic of Han in the WM Build-a-Droid set sure looks blue to me:

Based on this pic, I'm pretty sure that one has the brown coat.
-
I'm pretty sure the plan was to give us both between the two sets.
-
WOW, this set is a must have for me. (I already sold my old Probe Droid & K-3P0). I want to see more BP's like this. Keep them coming, the 3 droids alone make this set worthwhile.
Where is Jedi insider getting there info from?

Cracked this puppy open yesterday - very decent set. I like the K-3PO with his jointed knees and the R5 unit is great. I was surprised that the snow dusting was pretty light on Chewie and the Probe-droid is decent with his new paint job. Han is decent, but has two things of note - pink gloves (at the wrists) and his goggles are glued to his face. I got them out, but I still have to remove the glue.
-
Wow, surprised that the goggles are glued since the pic on the back shows it in a different position. I was waiting for this Han, but I broke down and got the droid factory version anyway, and I'm pleased with it. I think the blue is so negligible that it isn't very obvious. I think the R5 droid is what I look forward to the most with this set.
-
This is a great battle pack, especially at $20. I'm digging the K-3PO and R5 and I was really surprised at how nice the Probot is...especially with the new play feature (to me at least) of the hidden guns in the head. I think they almost nailed the blue/brownish look of Han and Chewie is Chewie...I'd recommend buying this baby if you see it...
-
I finally found this one today. Nice set... the droids make it worth the purchase. It's nice to see some new figures being sprinkled into the BP's now.
I could do without the Chewbacca.
-
I bought this set yesterday, and it's a mixed bag for me. Objectively, this set is fantastic with a correct color and hooded Han, a new R5 droid, an articulated K-3PO, the great EB Chewie sculpt, and a repainted Probot (which hasn't been on shelves for a decade or so?). Subjectively, though, the R5 is the only new thing for me. I have the hood down Han and the blue hood up version, the original K-3PO has a hand that can hold items (I have him holding his device in front of a tactical screen), I have a couple EB Chewies, and the Probot's original color seems to be more film accurate than the new chrome type. So, I'm not ecstatic over this like I will be for the Yavin set, but it's great for a quick build of a Hoth scene.
-
The more I think about it, they should have use parts from the new Legacy Chewie for this set. The wind swept look is very cool and very appropriate.
-
I've seen this BP a few times now but keep passing on it. I thought it would be a for sure buy but I was disappointed that the Han coat wasn't brown like I remember seeing in protos. I guess I could still pick it up and think of it as a $10 probe Droid and 2 $5 droids with a free Han and Chewie.
-
These things are quickly piling up in my neck of the woods, but the Speederbike sets are a consistent sell through.
-
Of course, there's two of these to a case as opposed the one each of the speeder bikes. :P
-
Anyone have this set yet? Any review on it they want to share? I'm interested in the Probe Droid and how Hasbro changed it, if any other than paint.

-
I saw this one when down south and I actually did not pick it up. I was looking forward to it, but the Han looked quite bad in all the sets (all 3 of them) I saw. The droids/probot did look good, but I really was looking forward to that Han and wasn't happy with what I saw. :-\
-

It's a very decent set. The probe droid is strictly a re-paint, nothing modified to the mold. Of note of the re-painted Han, the goggles are glued in. Chewie's re-paint is nothing special, a bit too light IMO. The R5 is perfect and the protocol droid is decent, but it would have been nice if it had used the new DAB articulation.

Thanks Anton. I wish the Probe Droid was changed to remove the action feature it had back in the POTF2 line. It just didn't look very good. Also got to see a good picture of this set on Rebelscum today. I think Hasbro should have used the head of the sandstorm Chewy for this. Would have looked much better IMO. Totally agree on the wintering of Chewy too. I'll most likely get this set if I see it.

-
If anyone wants to sell the R5 let me know, it's the only figure I want from the set. Thanks!
-
I really enjoy the set more now than I did at first. K-3PO is so much better than the original: he's shorter, more proportional, has a much better shaped head, and is a truer white. The R5 is perfect. Chewie might as well be an ANH version, because there's almost no hint of snow decor, so I ended up putting him into a different scene anyway. The Han takes a little work to get the glue out (the goggles look infinitely better on his hat than on his face), but it can be done. The disappointment, I guess, (unless you never bought the POTF2 version) is the Probe Droid. This is a mold that really could have taken advantage of improved articulation in the legs and better proportions. Maybe they could have put a new one into the $19.99 assortment with a resculpted Tauntaun or something.
-
I like the set too...
First, a hooded Han in a brown coat was important, and I plan on removing the goggles so they can be moved around properly. I'm irked Hasbro glued them on like that. Otherwise a pretty great figure. I'm planning to combine my blue one with the brown one to make a decent figure.
I'm not totally disappointed in the Chewbacca... I almost wish he had no snow deco so we could've used him elsewhere, as I have a snowy tall Chewie already. I love that sculpt and would love to own about 3 more of it for various scenes.
The R5 is outstanding, and while I wish it didn't use the vintage body, I'm ok with it too and I dig droid repaints.
Like above, I like K-3PO because it's a repaint and also it doesn't totally negate the original figure. Getting K-3PO pre-blast damage and K-3PO "dead" is pretty cool I think.
Probe Droid... Meh. It's a repaint of something I never was that interested in originally, but it's ok I guess. A new Probe Droid would be ok if it was up to modern standards, but honestly I would've rather gotten something more interesting than the probe droid. I get why it was in there though, it sort of made the set what it was, and so I wasn't bothered by it.
