Let's see...

I don't collect vintage, but I do have about 50 or so figures from my childhood, with some vehicles that are in horrible condition.

I do have an Imperial Shuttle though in spectacular condition that I bought about 3 years ago, and a Sandcrawler that is in fair-good condition.

As for modern, I collect about 99.9% of everything and collect loose.  There are a few here and there that I do pass on though, such as the flipping deluxe figures and that damn new R2D2.  If I think something totally sucks, I'll pass on it.

I will also be passing on the Bounty Hunter 4-pk, I don't need to throw away $20 on that at all.  Bad decision Hasbro!!  Boo!! Boooo!!! ;)

Hmmm... that is an awesome idea Spuffy on including the Eopie in a TRU 4-pk.  I really like that.  How's this for an idea; I bet it would sell extremely well...

This would be a poor decision on Hasbro's part.  I applaud them for trying to get that cool accessory out, but why not substitute these figures instead:

- red accessory set Battle Droid
- Jedi Knight (Kit Fisto body w/ human head/hands)
- Geonosian Warrior
- retooled Obi Wan in captured pose

Those are some killer ideas dimetrodon, I would definitely buy any of those you mentioned.

How about this one, has anyone mentioned it yet?

EWOK HUT

- hut with removable ceiling/roof
- various spears and other Ewok weapons
- comes with Ewok holding baby, and Han with Wicket hugging his leg

Yep, Spuffy I know what you mean.  Quite often that mod likes to diss peoples' ideas.  Sometimes he rubs me the wrong way, and lately when he does that towards me or someone else I'll openly argue with him.  After a while, it just gets on my nerves.  I like it much better here anyway, and am glad you're here too.  What a fantastic forum this is.  I really enjoy it.

Man, all you guys have some great ideas.  I was going to go into detail on some ideas but it looks like you all beat me to it!  That's ok, I'll try and come up with some a little later. ;)

I still say that the vast majority of the blame falls on Hasbro.  They are the ones that should be held accountable for the marketing of their product, not the retailers.

The retailers shouldn't have to distinguish between a case having 3 Lukes, 3 Vaders, 3 Hans and 3 Mauls vs one with 4 Padme's, 3 Wat Tambors, 3 Coleman Trebors and 2 Chancellor Palpatine.  Most anyone ordering it is going to be like "who in the hell is Coleman Trebor?"   They are naturally going to order up on the main character case because they are familiar with those characters, causing major problems with the retail situation.  There's many other possible scenarios too of course.

I no longer rely on retail for barely anything anymore Star Wars related.  I consider anything I find at retail as a bonus.

Long before the Simpsons stuff ever came out I thought that Hasbro/Kenner was missing an opportunity and should do something like this.

Think about it...

- one new figure
- awesome accessories
- small playset with a base and three walls and removable ceiling
- connects with all other small playsets
- $20 pricepoint

As long as the quality on these was nice, and no electronics were included, I think Hasbro could pull off something that we would really like.

Thoughts?

And I am sure that Hasbro will goof and keep the production numbers on the Droid 3-pk and Jedi 3-pk the same as these.  There should be at least 3X as many Clone 3-pks produced as there are Jedi 3-pks, and 2X that of the Droid 3-pks.  

These Clone sets are going to SELL.  I predict they will be one of Hasbro's hottest Star Wars items ever.

All new aliens with cool articulation and WEAPONS would have made the Cantina sets a much better success.  It was a great concept, but executed poorly.

As for the BH set, everyone has pretty much summed it up for me already why I will be passing on it.  

Count me in for 1 Hoth set, and 2-3 Imperial sets.  If Vader hadn't been included, I am sure I would have gotten 5-10 sets once I got my finances settled.

The Bounty Hyner set is definitely my least favorite of the three.

Money is tight for the next couple of weeks, so even if I saw the Impreial 4-pk I would probably have to pass.  I am going to have to avoid TRU and all the other retailers until my paychecks start coming in from my new insurance sales job. :-\

This really is going to be great, isn't it Jedirhino!   :D

I just hope that Hasbro doesn't underproduce these.  It looks like they have a surefire hit here.  Practically everyone is going to want at least one set, and a lot of people are going to want a lot more.  Heck, I am sure I will drop at least $100.00 on these.
