The Prequel Trilogy / Jedi Homing Beacon
« on: May 20, 2005, 10:59 AM »
Does anybody think that they threw in the whole Jedi beacon thing in was possibly for an explanation of the Jedi that I assume are supposed to appear in the new tv show?  I mean we know that Yoda and Obi-Wan went into hiding so the show would suck without any Jedi in it.

That should mean that there were some straglers out on other planets who received the message to stay away from the temple.  Obi-Wan seemed extremely worried when Yoda told him about the beacon which warrented them to go back to the temple to change the message.  There are no other Jedi in ep 4-6 so it would seem that no other Jedi survied the attack.  So why would they risk there lives to go back to the temple if no other Jedi survived?  Yoda is a pretty smart guy who can feel the force, so he would have known that others were still out there.  He also said that it would take the clones quite awhile to figure out that Obi-Wan changed the message.

Alot of speculation here, but this is what i thought of immediatley when they went back and changed the message.  I'm probably wrong on this entire thing, but maybe, just maybe he threw that just to set up a possible explanation if he were to hand over 7,8, 9 to someone in the future.  A new trilogy would be kinda weird with a family of Jedi - Luke, Leia + her kids.

Early Bird set - 0 - not too thilled about the figs, but wouldn't mind picking up the package if I ever run into it.

Lava Vader - x3

Holographic Yoda - x2

C3 Vader - x1 Thanks Jeff!!

Target Clone - x2

Kohl's Bonus figure sets - 1 of each - I'm a packaging freak

TRU Anakin Starfighter - x1 - found it today for $19.99 due to their mislabeling

I also have an order in for my 4 EE clone sets.  Some of the local guys in MN had some extra sets, but no one had the clean colored, so I figured I'd just get em all from the source.

So aren't we the ones that are going to be paying for Hasbro's screw up then??  They designed these things with collectors in mind (supposedly)  I was actually pleased to hear these were coming out, before all the reports of their flaws starting coming in though.  Can anyone else see a minor price hike in the coming months?

I wonder how many cases went into production.

Revenge of the Sith / Re: Bonus Clone Troopers!

Not that this is a big deal or anything, but the boxes with the bonus figs are about 1/2" shorter length wise than what the originals were.  I just found it odd that Hasbro needed to do this.

Jayson hooked me up with a huge oversized ROTS figure poster with all 56 figs.

Thanks much and I look forward to any future transactions!!

Just met up with Jeff last night and he scored me a c3 Vader!  I just feel bad for the amount of time he spent waiting for it.

Thanks Jeff!

Feedback / Re: Scott's feedback

Scott had an extra clean POTJ Scout Trooper in his big ol box of toys so I glady took it from him.

Thanks!

guess.  That'd be a good thing, since I haven't found these ships to be of the highest quality so far.  Kind of disappointed in them actually...

I second that.  I took mine all back and returned them to Target.  These things aren't worth $7 a pop.  I already have the smaller scaled MM ships with the stands that came out years ago and theses things just look craptacular in their larger scale.  I'd be happy to start collecting the Titanium ships, but I can't find those lil suckers...

I've gotten a bit lazy since I'm caught up through #44 now.  I usually just look at the pic on the left side as well though when I'm looking for new figs.  I remember going to a TRU on 04/03 to pick up all the basic figs and I must have gone through about 40 pegs, one by one.  Boy that was a chore.

I just hate it when the pegs are overfilled and you accidentally drop a few.  That happened to me the other day and I must have knocked about 10-15 cards off the pegs.  I felt so bad.. :-\  I picked them all up though, so at least I didn't leave a mess behind.

I usually hit up 2-3 stores on my light days and if I'm feeling particularly toy hungry then I hit 10-15 stores on those days.  I've cut down on some of the other toy lines I collect, but you just can't beat the thrill of the hunt.

The Prequel Trilogy / No to Ep 7

Big daddy said that he won't hand over Ep 7 to anybody tonight on 60 minutes...I don't believe it myself, but what are your thoughts??

The Prequel Trilogy / Re: ROTS Trailer

I caught a tear falling from my cheek the first time I saw Palpy going after Mace and his buddies.  Hope I'm not to geeky to admit that, but it's sad to see the fall of the Jedi and it was so exciting to see how powerful the dark side can really be considering if he wipes all four of those Jedi out in that single scene.  I've been mostly spoiler free thus far so this was a real treat for me.

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: When you realized you were hooked.

I realized I was hooked on Star Wars toys when I could no longer walk in the room I have set aside for my collection.  I'm in the process of moving and I don't really think you know how much crap you have once you have to box everything up piece by piece.  At least I didn't.

Looks like season 1 of The Greatest American Hero comes out on DVD tomorrow.  Wow does that ever take me back to my childhood.  Almost missed it looking over the Sunday ads when I saw a pic of the dude's logo with his red tights.  I don't recall the actor's name, but does anyone else remember this series??  Please don't tell me I'm the only dork here.  I think the guy was a bit of a clumsy superhero if I recall.
