The Office
« on: September 28, 2006, 11:20 AM »
I'm embarrassed and ashamed that we're now into the third season of the best comedy currently on television, and there's not a corresponding thread here about it. . .until now.

I just wanna say that I'm a manly-man who doesn't typically fall for sappy romantic stuff--especially when it involves fictional characters, but this whole Jim and Pam thing has turned me into a weepy thirteen-year-old girl.

I think we've had discussions on The Office in the "Official Television Thread."

Either way, it's a good show.  I enjoy watching it just to see how bad Michael can screw things up.

Seriously, he should be fired by now.

I really love the show... thank god YouTube is around, as I never seem to catch any of the episodes on TV. I feel like The Office belongs on HBO with Curb Your Enthusiasm, or on Fox with Family Guy...

Does the finest network comedy since Arrested Development not deserve a thread of it's very own?

I knew you'd feel that way, but that's pretty much why it's there.

So has anyone been lame enough to ask their friends about that updog smell, yet?

I'm more of a fan of the British Office but I really like how NBC took the concept and gave it it's own unique touch. While similar, the characters are different. Carrell is less of an a-hole and more neurotic than Gervais was and Dwight's character is a little less annoying and way more kiss a$$ than his british equivalent, Gareth. Also, I went to college in Scranton PA so it's nice to see all the subtle references to the town itself. I hope this show lasts and i'm suprised America has embraced it...

Sure, why not; although AD never had it's own.

'Cause all of three people watched it around here, I think.

Okay, I'll bite:

What's updog?

No, it's not, but I didn't want to leave you hanging.

This is one of the very few shows that the wife and I watch (it's difficult to find something we both like).

The show never fails to have at least one laugh-out-loud moment in each episode. Last week's---the very last scene when Michael and Dwight black-lit the motel room. Priceless.

All I know is they better get that Pam and Jim chemistry back, because the new chick Jim is flirting with is hot and I'm starting to think about her when I masturbate instead of Pam.

Pam and the head delivery guy are flirting too...

Jim needs to get back to Scranton.

TMI - but yes, she is hotter than Pam.
