I'd like to go on the record as saying that I have met Morgbug, and he is not as old as he would have you all believe!

Granted, he's not as young as Gregg, but still.

Hey Hasbro! / Could you possibly make a good Mace Windu?
« on: May 12, 2005, 05:07 PM »
What's up with the Mace Windu's you've produced? Either his eyes are closed or he's just completely useless due to an action feature that doesn't really work in the first place. I understand your rhetoric about making figures for kids, but couldn't you make one Mace that's of the same quality as your highly poseable Collection 2 figures from ROTS?

Also, Obi-Wan keeps getting the proverbial shaft as well, but I'll let someone else campaign for that.

Yeah - I've never really liked the laying-down clone sculpt either.

If they needed a third "pose" why not have the clone standing at attention like at the end of AOTC when they're all lined up to start loading the transports. To me THAT would be a better pose then laying on the ground.

Not really disagreeing, I never noted any lying down during the movie, but this pose isn't that unusual, just unsuitable.

Way back in the day, we used to get generic army figures in multiple poses, zero articulation.  This guy is a hold over in someone's mind for a sniper from a bygone era.  I probably get more of a kick out of it because it simply reminds me of old toys that I used to play with as a kid.

Whoa, slow down there, grandpa! ;)

Just because someone at Hasbro has nostalgia for the days before that newfangled "articulation" was invented doesn't mean we should bring back the old toys. What's next, a tin wind-up Darth Vader and a stick-horse speeder bike?

I just hope we get a normal Obi-Wan figure at some point...with no action features (unless you count SA as an action feature).

Once the Turbo Tank driver comes out, I think it would be awsome to get a solid case of clone army builders since they are all collection 1, accept the Gunner:P. It could go like this:

#6 clone x 1
#33 clone comander x2
#34 clone pilot x1
#38 clone gunner x2
#41 clone x 2
#49 Bacara x2
#54 Turbo Tank Driver x2

Or just exclude the Gunner and do two of each.

Makes sense.

The gunner has ****-sandwich arms. I wish they'd put the other clone arms on him...its not like they don't have the mold.

Keep in mind, guys, that the longer the line sells, the longer they'll continue it. Army builders buy lots of ****, and that equals $$$ for Hasbro.

Yeah, those were a welcome sight at C3. Could it be that we'll finally have an almost SA Darth Maul? Give me a bounty hunters evolution pack with a SA Jango Fett and I'll be dancing on the rooftops. I guess they could do something like:

* SA Aurra Sing  ::)
* SA Jango Fett
* SA Zam Wessel(?)

I actually wouldn't mind a good Zam Wessel figure, to be honest.

Scott, that was one of the most heartfelt posts I've seen since I've been online. Thanks for sharing the memories, man, and I'm sorry to hear about your friend. I have a friend who died before AOTC, and it was hard then as it's hard this time. If you need anyone to talk to, don't hesitate to PM me.

Well, yes and no. The 3-pack clones are too static to really be considered action figures. I'll hold out for the SA clone repaint.

I received a couple AT-TE gunners from Amazon today, and honestly, I'm not that impressed with this figure. After the SA clones we've been getting recently, this one seems kind of stuck in one position (arm-wise). Plus, the forearm on one of mine doesn't want to stay on. I guess its a cool figure, but it would have been better on a SA clone body.

I dont' think it's hard to guess who I voted for...  The Rebel Troopers all need done this way in my eyes, and army builders are an ideal format for these 3-packs of "definitive figures" if you ask me.

That said, I didn't see a character on that list I WOULDN'T want done in this Evolutions series.  To me, this is something I hope that Hasbro continues till everything is done this way.

I'd dig another set as well, for classic Imperial troops...

-Imperial Stormtrooper (basic)
-Imperial "Hoth" Storm"Snow"Trooper
-Imperial Scouttrooper

I'd take that evolution assortment in droves.  I can only dream of what the Snowtrooper would look like too, with the softgoods.  That would kick so much ass, I can see it now.

My dream from the list is the Rebel Troopers set though...  A new Endor soldier would suit me fine, the Fleet Trooper I'd of course like to see redone that way, and the Hoth Trooper was an abysmal failure in the Saga line because Hasbro copped out on him so much.  All 3 would be an ultimate army builder assortment to me if they put as much heart into that as the Clone set that is coming up.

As long as they didn't repackage the 3 repackaged imps from the OTC line (POTF2 CT stormie, Saga Snowtrooper and POTJ Biker scout) which would be the biggest ****-in-the-face from Hasbro since that piss-poor midget Hoth rebel trooper.

However, a repackage of the VOTC Stormie is just fiiiiiiine! ;)

I really hope this idea takes off. I remember having this idea a long time ago, before Episode2 came out (I forget which board) when we were talking about new ideas for the cinema scenes. I thought there'd be something like ANH Han, ESB Han and ROTJ Han. I'm glad to see this idea coming true, as it can really be a wonderful thing as we saw at C3.

Even though I voted for the troopers, I would really like to see an Obi-Wan evolutions assortment. I would also (and this is kind of off topic) really like to see a VOTC-style Qui Gon Jinn.

I think it all depends on wether people have an appreciation of stage acting, which is where McDiarmid really shines.
