Other Toy Lines / Re: Modern Masters of the Universe

I’m thinking Super 7 is done, after they deliver the last of their Filmation 5.5” dudes. The Reaction and a Classics are (probably) finished too. Super 7 has nothing MOTU at SDCC this year, so...

Soundwave has been very tempting, and same with Springer. Gah.  Maybe I’ll get Sideswipe since I really didn’t like the Universe version. Then there’s that Omega Supreme...  :o

I bought in on Classics really really heavily, so I’m really not interested in starting another line, even if it is at retail. I haven’t bought anything Super 7 has offered, other than He-Ro and Eldor. I’m hoping I can pick up the Classics I missed for a reasonable price now, but we’ll see. I’m more interested in toys for the movie, and I know how much trouble Mattel has at retail. Just trying to avoid another cluster**** like the 200x line.

The Siege line has been tempting me something fierce lately. I might be too far behind since I don’t see Sideswipe or Hound anymore.

I did find the G1 Prime on clearance at my local Wally for $35. I left it, but might go back and get one before they disappear. It’s just too tempting.  ;)

The Vintage Collection / Re: Recent Vintage Collection Purchases

Picked up a Snoke and Stormtrooper at my local Wally today for $7 each. I was glad to get them since I needed these for my carded collection.

Received my two Lukes and R2 today. Luke is pretty great, and I’m glad I didn’t wait around on these.

I’m not very knowledgeable about third party stuff. I try to avoid it, since I spend enough on official stuff. But the G1 version of Blaster is coming to Walmart next year, and I’m assuming his cassette buddies will tag along.

Kenner Retro Collection / Re: 2019 Kenner Retro Collection

I'm hoping more of these make it to the pegs.  There's been no sign of these in my area.

Don't forget - these are only Target exclusive for now.  Per Hasbro's latest update on May 4th, these Retro Collection figures will be available at "fan channels" this Fall -

From the press release -
"Available exclusively at Target, Target.com on 5/12/2019, and at most fan channel retailers nationwide in Fall 2019."

If you can't find them now, just wait until Fall and order a case of them from Entertainment Earth (#sponsorplug).

Glad to hear this. Tired of striking out on these. Maybe that 2nd run will have figures that are actually able to hold the weapons.

Found this on shelf today. Was just going to get a carded one, but now I think I need an opener too.

I struck out at two Targets for everything. Kind of figured this would be a debacle like the Gammorean Guard.

Picked up a Veers at Walgreens yesterday. Black Series figures are on sale for $14. 👍

Yeah, the prices are nuts these days, on eBay at least. I picked up a few figures at Quake Collectibles in Chicago last month, but they didn’t have any weapons. I grabbed Beachhead v2, Ambush, Crankcase, and Rampart. The only way I can afford to buy these any more is at a collectible store. I’m pretty lucky that I live a couple hours from a great store in Des Moines called Jay’s that has all sorts of great stuff for fair prices.

Picked up Gears and Warpath last weekend, so they’re getting out there now. They ship with carry-forwards of Bumblebee and Swerve, if you missed them earlier.

I remember when Mattel did something similar in 2003 in the MOTU line. It failed miserably.
