hey guys
just wanted you to know that my wife offered me a travel to NYC in next december !
1st time in the states, i hope to score some good collectibles !
-
Wow! That should be fun. Any idea on where you might go?
I suggest going up river a bit to West Point and the surrounding Hudson Valley....I grew up there and there's a lot of cool things to see...especially if you like History. Too bad you aren't going in the Septamber/October timeframe....that's when the leaves change and it's absolultely amazing to see.

Ah , good ol' NYC. They have a HUGE (3 floors....like 3 regular stores in one!) , it's great for finding rare , and easy to find figures.when I say great...I mean GREAT!
hope you have a good time , when you come here.
Joe.

Where exactly are you talking about Joe? I'm going to New York next week and I'd like to check it out.

in times Square , a HUGE Toys R US....great for collecting....since they have a pretty good size Starwars Dept. Literly , it's 3 floors , one floor for video games , one for action figures ,and the 3rd. for dolls/building things...like legos.

Oh TRU Times Square. That's easy enough to find. Is F.A.O. Schwartz still around. Are there any really cool, comic/toy shops I should keep my eye out for?
-
I'm not sure about F.A.O. , I think they were rebuilding that last time I was there....now about comic shops....I think I saw one a few blocks from Times Square...not sure...

'
funny....my mother just said(well...she said it a day ago) that we're going to NYC (saturday)for a day , to visit my aunt and uncle , again... I'll report any of my findings when I get back.

Hey, I've lived in NYC (Brooklyn and the Bronx) for 19 years...the Time Square TRU is, in a way, a bit of a waste. (A TRU is a TRU...) I'll drop back in with info on some real collector shops.

I've got family at University Plaza on the edge of the Village... I used to go up every summer but lately it's been more sporadic.
I love it there... I was there two months ago and before that I went up in February of last year to see the Gates in Central Park.... for me I usually just go to the museums when I'm looking for something to do in the city. The Met, Natural History, Moma, Whitney, Guggenheim, Jewish, Intrepid are among the best there if you're looking for that sort of thing.

yup the Met is definitely on my list,
i'm not sure about the MOMA though (i know my wife will go there i'm not too much into modern art
