When the AOTC figures first hit they were $6 at Target and $5 everywhere else except Kmart/KB - so I still have hope.

 :P

I surely hope you're right, but as I said in the other thread, Hasbro has shown recently that they can get away with increasing the price on figures (the VOTC) and not be concerned with the fanbase suddenly not buying the figures. Plus think of all the fair-weathered fans and the kids who will buy the toys, they aren't buying them right now so they don;t know how much they go for now and thus have no comparison point. A shrewd move by them, but it only makes me want to wait more for the inevitable clearance sales.
Regular sales and clearances (neither happen much anymore) kept me in the game through the great price hikes of '98 and '99. But if I'm expected to shell out $6 or 7 a fig next year, then I'm out of the game.

That is Greg(g) 100% positive its him...why threaten to sue me if it wasn't?  And now that his secret identity was exposed I'm wondering what he's been doing with his life
Old Country Buffet, unless you live in Australia, Gregg can't touch you. He's banging kangaroos or something down under.  :-X

Original Trilogy Collection / Figure price getting jacked up to $7?
« on: October 15, 2004, 10:56 AM »
According to the listing from the Target computers posted on several sites, it appears that Target is jacking the price up two dollars.
Between cost of living, the agravation of finding maybe a dozen figs all last year and the cost of driving to stores, I almost abandoned collecting. If the price is going up to $7, I can't stay in this.

Original Trilogy Collection / Re: Y-Wing droid slot
« on: October 15, 2004, 01:05 AM »
The POTF2 Y-Wing's got a droid dome screwed into it.  There's some reworking of the mold itself, so it's not really a removable piece as I recall of mine...

It's more a solid piece.
Well, how is it screwed in? From the top?

Original Trilogy Collection / Y-Wing droid slot
« on: October 15, 2004, 12:35 AM »
This is essentially a rererelease of the 1983 vintage mold, right?
So by logic, that should mean that there is a removable piece either filling or covering the droid slot. Has anyone ever removed it?

Watto's Junk Yard / Advice for Halloween costume
« on: October 15, 2004, 12:19 AM »
I'm making the tremendous leap from Obi-Wan Kenobi to AOTCish Anakin Skywalker for Halloween this year. The clothing is fairly simple, at least easier than when I dressed as Vader from '95-'01, lol.
Anyway, I want to add the artificial arm, but where the hell am I going to find something that looks passable?

I'll go with 20, since the OT obviously is in a tie for first with Field of Dreams and Bull Durham. AOTC is probably in the Top 25. TPM maybe, if only for Liam Neeson's performance.
Okay, here goes...
1 (tie) - SW
             ESB
             ROTJ
             FOD
             BD
6 - Unforgiven
7 - Old School
8 - Friday
9 - Office Space
10 - A River Runs Through It

After about the first 10, the list degenerates into random shots
AOTC
Last of the Mohicans (1992)
Casablanca
Saving Private Ryan
Good Will Hunting
Spaceballs
Road Trip
The Naked Gun
Three Amigos
Batman (1989)
Spider Man (2002)
The Mummy
American Pie
Transformers the Movie
An American Tale (Feivel, the little Don Buth mouse)
For Love of the Game
The Untouchables
Indy 1 and 3
T2
Matrix 1

If we're all admitting a guilty pleasure movie, gotta go with Wild Things. Please tell me Denise Richards was not using a body double. I don't see how she could be, given those shots.

I'm a little chagrined to see that so many are banned from this forum. I thought this place regarded itself as the antiScum.
