Nice to see they are finally giving us a droid for Obi-Wan's ship.  :)

I think I will pass on baby Boba, but Embo is a must-have.

I may nab Embo too...  Watch Boba be miles superior to his realistic figure, and no sign of a realistic young Boba resculpt on the horizon.   :-\

So why isn't the Mando trooper in bold?  There's a listing for both the Mando guard AND a Mando Trooper.  So I guess Pre Viszla will actually get some troops!

Maybe it'll be a repack of the figure in the Deluxe line? It really is a great looking figure, but I don't fancy how it's limited to just the Deluxe assortment.

Ok, we all know Hasbro is prone to mislead or be a bit untruthful about upcoming products sometimes (BMF for one), but this Q and A (http://www.jediinsider.com/index.php?catid=8&itemid=12854) answer at JediInsider was a bit confusing:

Quote
JI: Now that the season 2 finale for the Clone Wars animated series has come and gone, can you tell us if a new Boba Fett figure for Clone Wars will be released soon?

Hasbro: A new Clone Wars Boba Fett figure is in the works. However, it will be available only in a very special pack later this Fall…stay tuned for info that will be released at Celebration V.

Hmmm.... interesting. Maybe the Fett they are referring to is a pack-in for the rumored Slave I and this wave will be pushed back until Spring, making their answer true... from a certain point of view.  :P

Hmm. If Boba is going to be a pack-in with Slave 1, I am NOT dropping $50+ to get an action figure that's gonna be twice the size of a Yoda figure. :(

MAYBE, though, Hasbro is going to do a Bounty Hunters pack from Season 2 - Aurra (repack), Boba, Bossk, and other dude! It would make sense to do a set like this.

Thanks to the toy catalog being found in the Fall 2010 Clone Wars vehicles, it looks like this wave has been confirmed:

  '10 CW29 Mandolorian Warrior
  '10 CW30 R4-P17
  '10 CW31 Shaak Ti
  '10 CW32 Boba Fett
  '10 CW33 Embo

I'm already calling this as the Wave of the Year. What an assortment!

Even if Boba is a repack if the UB version, and the Mando is a repack of the Deluxe Speeder version, ya still got Shaak Ti and Embo plus a new astromech.

Hoping to see these before Christmas...

I'm betting that the Mando will have something new with him, probably a launcher or hopefully a rifle. I hope Boba has his bounty hunting attire with the dual pistols and holsters. Still, Shaak Ti and Embo will probably look fantastic, and I look forward to seeing pics at SDCC or CV.

I hope also (and it would make sense) if Boba came in his bounty hunter's attire - it'd also be a better seller compared to a basic-carded "clone youth" Boba.

There were also some pretty cool looking guards that were with Satine - I *think* one of them escorted Obi-Wan into the palace.

Could that be the figure we're getting instead of just a repack of the Mando armor fig from the deluxe line?

The repack makes total sense, gives Hasbro a means of making money off of the same mold twice. But it could be a completely new figure as well...

So, it looks like the carded baby Boba is definitely different from the one that is coming in the Slave I UBP at TRU.  Sort of a surprise as most folks were thinking they would be the same sculpt.

Now someone with better eyes than me has to figure out if/how that carded Mando Warrior is any different from the one with the speeder bike or the four in the Mando Warrior BP that is coming out...

HOLY CRAP!

I can see why this Boba is gonna be single-carded compared to the other one - Clone Youth garb Boba wouldn't be a good seller individually. Plus, I don't think that one has any weapons/accessories.

Shaak Ti and Embo look AMAZING!

Mando Warriors seems to be a waste of a slot - 4 in an upcoming BP, plus that Deluxe one coming out soon.

nice looking figures...

Jeff, to my eyes, other than perhaps the red shoulder emblem(?), the Mando's pretty identical to the one from the battlepack.  The one from the speeder's pretty different to those, but this looks like the battlepack one to me in most ways.

I guess astromechs are coming for this line too, like I figured they would. ;)  Too easy not to.

Actually when that rumor came out and then the Slave-I Boba came about as an exclusive figure, I was pretty sure they weren't going to repack him so quickly into the basic line...  The Mandalorian sorta flies in the face of that logic in the same wave, ironically.  It looks like Boba slaps the old man's gear on for some ass whippin' in Season 3?

The 'firing rocket' attachment per the photo would suggest the BP Mando and not the Deluxe set Mando.

Title: Re: Clone Wars Wave 18 (aka Fall 2010 Wave 4)
Post by: 501ST on August 20, 2010, 12:24 PM
The BP Mando has a long piece of plastic (meant to be a rocket) that snaps into his backpack and then can fire out,the Deluxe Mando has a backpack which has a molded & fixed "rocket"

BP Mando (note the rocketpack is fixed)

(http://i33.servimg.com/u/f33/15/13/73/31/img_4210.jpg) (http://www.servimg.com/image_preview.php?i=202&u=15137331)

And if you look at the single card Mando he has the long snap in firing rocket back back which sits in length wise to the back of the knees which is not the pack the Deluxe Mando has due to it's problematic nature to sitting on a speeder.

Thanks 501st.  Cant see the pics at work but I will be sure to look when I get home.  It sounds like the only difference (other than weapons too perhaps?) is that all versions other than the deluxe one come with a firing backpack.

I included the weapons coimment above because I thought I remeber seeing some of the Mandos in the BP coming with different weapons so they weren't all exactly the same.

If the four Mando's I got from ebay (tunghori) are anything to go by,then there's one Mando with the rocket firing backpack and the other three are not. (I selected Option A,B,C and D to see what each one was like)

Weapons wise they have different blasters also.

If that translates to the actual released BP is yet to be seen.

And Embo's going to be in Season 3, too, so he's a must.

Outside of the vehicle I do not either. I have only picked up  IG-86, The Trandosian from the BP, Cad Bane w/Pirate Bike and the deluxe Mando. But this wave is really nice, I will definitely get Fett and Embo without a doubt. I may even get Shaak Ti for custom fodder.

While I do not typically collect the animated figures I must say that I am very happy I ordered Embo. after seeing the review on GH I must say he easily passes for realistic. I feel that way about the Deluxe Cad Bane too.

I cannot wait to get this figure in hand!

Does Embo have unarticulated knees? Adam Pawlus says there's only 12 points of articulation on him, and there appears to be articulation in all the standard places except the knees (I can't tell because of the skirt thingy).

The Deluxe Cad Bane is a really great figure - and with all of the re-releases they keep having of Mr. Bane, it would be nice if just ONCE one of them was the same figure from the Pirate Bike deluxe.

I bought a second Pirate Bike deluxe just so I could have a secone one of the Deluxe Cad Bane's to put in my Xanadu Blood when it comes out.

If it turns out that one of the regular Cad Bane figs will work in the Xanadu Blood, then I'll save the Dlx figure for something else.

The Embo figure looks REALLY fantastic - I would say that out of all of the CW figures coming out between now and the end of the year - Embo is the one I'm the most excited about.

Curious to see how long these will take to show up back East. We're still waiting on the latest waves of vehicles (Xanadu Blood, etc) and Deluxe sets (AT-RT w/Boil, etc) which have already hit the midwest and central zones.

Glad I have the day off tomorrow, lots of hunting to do now.

You know I got this wave online, and I have to say I think it may be one of the best ones Hasbro has put out in the Clone Wars line.  The Embo in particular is one of the nicer figures I've seen in awhile, and the new Boba Fett shows what they could do in upgrades to movie versions of both him and Anakin.  Really nice figures.

This morning I noticed a new case of figures on top of the shelf above the pegs at TRU - it was marked Clone Wars Wave 4, Revision 2.

I searched everywhere I could think of online. but could not find any description of any such case assortment. EE has a Wave 4, Revision 1, but that is just figures like the ARF Trooper and Flamethrower Clone, which really are Wave 3, at least as referred to in this forum.

I'm guessing it probably is Wave 3 crap, since I can't see a Wave 4 revision case coming out before the original Wave 4 assortment. But who knows?

I could not reach it and the store was crazy busy, so I'll have to swing back later.

EE has a Wave 4, Revision 1, but that is just figures like the ARF Trooper and Flamethrower Clone, which really are Wave 3, at least as referred to in this forum.

That is because Hasbro's Wave 1.5 was listed as Wave 2 at EE.   Example:

Hasbro Wave 1 = EE Wave 1
Hasbro Wave 1.5 = EE Wave 2
Hasbro Wave 2 = EE Wave 3
Hasbro Wave 3 = EE Wave 4
Hasbro Wave 4 = EE Wave 5
Hasbro Wave 5 = EE Wave 6

Thanks Jeff, that makes sense.

It also seems to imply that if what Hasbro considers to be wave 4 = EE wave 5, then we're talking about the Embo wave.  (Cause the box was definitely marked Wave 4)

headed back there in about 2 hours...will confirm.

Ok, turned out to be just wave 3 crap as suspected. Flamethrower Clone, plus Ahsoka repack, etc.

Maybe next week~

I got Embo in the mail today, and he is easily the best figure in the line. Super articulation, great detail, two knives, a bowcaster that clips to his back, and a removable hat. Even fans of the realistic line might dig this figure. Embo rivals the best figures from the Legacy line and even the G.I. Joe line.

Bought Shaak Ti from this wave. The story how I got her is funny, really...

I had originally only bought Pre Viszla, because I saw him, and I've never seen him before in the wild. Other than that, there was also only the Ahsoka, Cad Bane, Odd Ball...etc. repack wave. I stumbled across a repack Asajj Ventress, and I wanted to buy her again, because I have the original blue/white-carded '08 release, and she can't hold her lightsabers AT ALL. It took me a while to finally decide I wouldn't spend the $6 (they were on sale) just for that tiny factor, and left the store.

Being that I was at the mall with lots of time to spare, I thought it over and finally decided to go back to buy it. When I walked in (about 20-30 minutes later), I found a fresh case of Wave 4, sans the astromech droid, on the shelves. There was only 1 case. I thought it was funny that Embo and the others had been untouched, but the astromech was gone. Either way, I immediately dumped the notion of buying another Asajj, and it took me at least 5 minutes to decide whether to get Shaak Ti or Embo. Eventually went with Shaak Ti, because I tend to lean towards Jedi characters.

Today I passed by the Target where I had scored Shaak Ti from this wave a day or two ago. As I expected, they were gone. When I had seen them, they had been placed visibly in the endcap, in the first place. All that was left was the first 3 waves of the line.

Still torn whether to bite the bullet and order these...projected shipping is not until 12/06 according to Hasbro's website. I am positive I could find these before then, but then again that date could be completely false. Maybe they would ship tomorrow.

Yeah, even with tax, etc it still comes to less than $50 for the 5 new figures in this wave.  :(

For me it's all about the timing. I want these things ASAP so I can stop frequenting Walmart, Target, etc. It's starting to get crazy in those places. If those are really not shipping from hasbro until 12/6 that is too late because I am sure I can find them before then at a brick and mortar.

I read this morning on JTA that the Embo wave has now been spotted at a Walmart in GA, so that is VERY encouraging. I guess it is back to saturation runs every day until I crush this wave. I need at least 2 Embos and Shaak Ti's alone!

Whew, definitely made the right call on THAT one.  ;D

Scored this whole wave this morning at Target, all on minty cards, and best of all - only $6 each!

That's right, $31.50 for all 5 figures, including tax. You can't beat that with a stick, especially for figures of this quality.

I had no idea they had even dropped to $6 for TCW figs, must be a recent thing.

This is easily the best wave since the Hondo/Aayla wave. I dig it every bit as much as I thought I would, I only wish I could crack a few open but I'll have to wait until I see more.

Embo and Shaak Ti tie for winners - both came out stunningly. The Boba likeness is spot on, probably the best they have done outside of Pre Vizsla. Astromechs don't thrill me so much, but I love the carded Mandalorian.

They've really set the bar high now for this line, I can't wait to see what they come up with for next year. (Sugi? Seripas?)

I also dig the Shaak Ti figure. I thought it was strange how they used a VERY rubbery plastic for her headtails - the head and headtails look like two separate pieces. Makes for easier posing compared to the harder plastic used in the Geonosis Arena Shaak Ti.

I've now cracked open Shaak Ti and Embo and they are easily two of the best figures ever in this line, IMO. The paint apps, articulation, sculpting, etc are all top notch. I don't even care if Shaak Ti has eyebrows.  ::)

If I had any misgivings at all, and these are a stretch, Shaak Ti doesn't seem terribly posable with all those robes on. And Embo is a wee bit top-heavy and the hat detaches a little too easily, but those are minor details.

I love that freakin' Bowcaster too!

I normally do not collect the animated stuff but I picked up Embo because I really liked the character. What I love about this figure the most is he looks realistic and not cartoony. He is a top notch figure and I loved the execution. The Bowcaster is sweet!

I wish this line was not animated I would have loved many of this characters if they were realistic. I am very happy Embo can pass for it though, so it's something.

I found all of these (except for the Mando) at TRU Express in Winnipeg yesterday. Shaak Ti is awesome! :D

I got the whole wave today.  Best wave so far in this line I think.  I also picked up a few in the next wave including Vos!

I'm beginning to see trickles of the Ki-Adi wave, which is getting me stressed because the Embo wave has barely had a full run at my local Targets - I've only seen them once.

The Embo wave has actually come through Wally World quite a bit here.  It's the Vos wave that's a little harder to come by.  I love Embo.  He's close to my favorite CW figure.

I hear that...I don't think we even got the Aayla wave back in Spring (or whenever she came out), Ditto the Force Unleashed Shaak Ti, which i KNOW was available, as i was able to pick up Jaina Solo at TRU.

Found this wave in overabundance today at Target... my eyes widened when I saw 3-4 Embos on the shelves, so with a "YES!" I was able to buy him. I already have Shaak Ti, and I was about to snag little Boba as well when a little kid right next to me snatched the only one and started jumping up and down. ::)

Reiterating what people have said, Embo really is great.
