Thanks for the pics there.  :)

Not too big on the vehicle and I'll put my money on this one being the biggest shelf-warmer. Hoo-boy, another Grievous figure. He's going to be an inadvertent army builder.

Good to see a glimpse of the Obi Starfighter repaint. I'm looking forward to that one more than Anakin's... that nonconformist with his yellow custom paintjob. What a dick.

Interesting looking vehicle...although the one thing that makes me the happiest is that it includes a Grievous figure.  Hopefully that means for the first time in the Prequel era*, we'll have a pilot figure who can actually fit in their ship without any contortionist tricks.

Also looks as though the Obi-Wan Jedi Starfighter will be coming sooner rather than later, from the photos on the back of the box.  I'm kind of curious whether or not it will come with interchangable droids for the socket, since it appears R4 from the last movie is in the ship during the opening battle, but R4-whatever that is in the Sneak Preview assortment goes with him to Utapau.

*For the purposes of my post, I am ignoring the AOTC Slave I and Pilot Jango, which weakens my theory, and I'm all about the confirmation bias over here.  ;D

I kind of like this, but it seems like Grievous couldn't make up his mind.  Do I want to roll?  Crawl?  I guess we'll find out how it works in the movie.

I too am very happy to see that there will be a Grevious figure packed in with this vehicle. I still think there should have been an Anakin and Obi-Wan packed in with each of the their fighters just to ensure that the figure interfaces with the vehicle well.

Ever since I first saw the design for this ride, I've been curious to see how it moves, the toy itself doesn't really imply roll or crawl, my guess is that it can do both, sort of like a Droideka - rolls quickly into position and then deploys the legs for stability when engaged in combat.

I'm thinking the same thing... wheel is for quick movement/get-away, legs deploy for battle.  Those claws look like they were designed more for battle than movements.

Does anyone here still collect GI Joe toys from the 80's??  There was a small grey vehicle that was circular which enclosed the figure and it had a round wheel of spikes surrounding the vehicle similar to the look of this vehicle minus the legs of course.  Think it was Cobra Commanders maybe...

Anyone?

That was EXACTLY what I was thinking. That GI Joe vehicle.

MOTU had one like that too, only it was this way:
MOTU Roton (http://www.he-man.org/primary_sects/toys/html/collector_guides/motu_class/toy_pages/roton.shtml)

The Buzz Boar was what I was thinking too.

It's an odd vehicle...  Not the most practical design really, but whatever.  The AT-RT's not exactl screaming "military excellence" itself, what with the big open seat  you could snipe the driver off of. :)

That's exactly what I was thinking!  Not only would it be slow and cumbersome, you're wearing a sign that says 'open season!"
Title: Re: Greivous Wheelbike

the AT-RT I can explain away enough to satisfy my own gripe on it...  It is a small personal support one I think.  The AT-PT looks, in my view, to be the real "evolution" of that walker.  The enclosed cockpit, and a forward gun able to put a field of fire down...  Not gonna put an AT-ST down ever (not alone anyway) but it's an improvement.

The RT's got the height advantage (good in brush), and would be an asset, just not anything superior to all it's gonna encounter on a field, even if only encountering infantry.  It's a walking E-Web basically...  Good to get a "machine gun" up for support, and even over a wall perhaps (ideal) but not for marching right in on anything.

The wheelbike...  It looks like fun anyway.

What was that wheel-bike thing from Southpark?  Dale, do you have a picture we can even show here of that one?  :)  I wonder if Greivous makes it go the same way?  hahaha

;D You're talking about that vehicle that Mr. Garrison invents. The episode was called "The Entity" and the vehicle was referred to as simply "IT"

LOL! I dunno if this is going to be okay to post here, but here it goes (and here I go getting myself in trouble again)...

Eh, it was ok for Comedy Central so I'm not gonna complain unless the powers that be tell me otherwise.

Good score on the pic.  I can only fathom Greivous cruising in similar style.  I'd be horribly disappointed in E3, but at the same time I know I'd not be the only one laughing his ass off in the theater.

I think they kinda cheaped out on the Grievous figure here with the paint details... but I guess that's to be expected in a pack in figure.   ::)

And fine with me, because as others have pointed out, we are already getting Preview Grievous, III-09 Grievous, III-36 Cloaked Grievous, DLX Lightsaber Attack Grievous, etc - plenty of "good" Generals to go around.

Hopefully some of the other better painted ones can sit down fine on the Wheelbike like this one can.   :)

With a bunch of people finding this vehicle this weekend, I thought I'd better bump this thread so people have a place to post pictures and pick up the discussion...

Ok - this was the first vehicle I opened of the three. I like this one A LOT - different from anything we've seen or gotten before in a SW movie.

The included Grevious sucks. But the preview Grevious doesn't fit in the drivers seat any better either. The pack-in Grevious only has six points of articulation (no knee or elbow joints of any kind) and it just TOO white. There's no marks or "dirtiness" to the figure - in other words, the pain job stinks.

The vehicle itself stands great with the legs deployed and in "rolling" mode, it's easy to work using the handle. Anyway - on with the pics...

Yeah, once I had this Grievous figure in hand, I too was really impressed by his "suck" factor.  I guess I don't mind because we are getting other better General Grievous figures, but it would have been nice if the Wheel Bike figure would have at least matched the other one in terms of coloration...  ::)

If the colors had matched - since the head is ball jointed, you could have just swapped the head of the packed-in Grevious with a excellently detailed preview or regular release. As you can see from the picture, the heads don't even look the same between the two figures!

Just a quick question: has anyone been able to get the included Grievous (horror that he is) to sit in his chair and hold the controls correctly?  The controls and the footrests are made of a really soft rubber, and as yet I have been unable to get him to look right sitting there.  Any tips from anyone else out there?

By the way, all I can think of when I see this toy is the G.I. Joe RAH Cobra Buzz Boar.  I mean, "teeth" wheels, cannon on the side, same basic design elements, etc.  That being said, I thought the Buzz Boar was a really cool toy when I was a kid, and I think that this is very cool now.  The positioning of the control chair on the side seems a bit awkward (as opposed to the chair on the Buzz Boar being inside the vehicle), but overall, I think it's a cool toy.

Thanks for all the great pics Pete.  This looks like a pretty cool vehicle, and something "different" for the Star Wars universe.  The Grievous pack-in figure is definitely "teh suck", but I can live with it since we have the preview version (and several more on the way).  Plus, at least they put a figure in there, that way if any kids do want to pick this up, they'll have someone to drive the thing around, even if he is the Crest "ultra white" strips version :).

The shot I posted above that shows the pack-in Grevious in the cockpit is the BEST I could do - which is, feet were on each foot rest but only ONE hand was holding a controller for the vehicle - I just could NOT get the figure to grab hold of BOTH controllers and STAY that way.

Frustrating to say the least.

The controls are actually adjustable and can slide forward and back. Pushing the controls closer to Grievous makes it easier to get them into both hands. It's not perfect but he can grab them in a decent manner.

BTW, I just posted a review of this vehicle on my site if anyone is interested:

First of all, welcome to JD, Garett!   8)

Cool pix there Peter and Justin.  I should stop into the ROTS section more often here, as I didn't even realize this vehicle came with a pack-in figure.  I guess "trying" to avoid spoilers by staying out of here for a while is going to leave me looking rather stupid when April 2nd rolls around, and I don't know jackshit about anything that I'm trying to buy!

I still haven't found this Wheelbike yet, despite having seen both Starfighters at numerous Targets around here now, and the Tri-Fighter once.  Bummer, 'cause I'd like to polish these ships off so they're not taking up any room in my basket on April 2nd.

LOL! I dunno if this is going to be okay to post here, but here it goes (and here I go getting myself in trouble again)...

We're all about raunch here, so no worries!  ;)

It's pretty cool now that I opened it and checked it out.  The Grievous figure that comes with it really sucks... will probably repaint it a bit to make him look more real.

I'm not overly excited about this one, but still it's pretty cool.  I would think that kids would go bonkers over it.
