As per the front page here at Jedidefender.com, the rumor is we could see more from Utapau in 2007... Let the rumor mill churn on with this one. I'd be up for various repaints like this if they happen... I could believe AT-RT Troopers are in everyone's batallion.
Curious how this figure could be presented... Battlepack, Order 66 2-packs, basic figure? No details on that but a repaint bodes well for one of the prior 2 concepts.
Would anyone be able to stand 501st AT-RT Drivers, or Mace's Batallion RT Drivers, or Felucia, or whatever? I'd kind of dig seeing one cobbled together to accompany Galactic Marines in a way, like repainting the gunner from the HFG Battlepack in Marine colors... Either way, this is a repaint that doesn't bother me and I'd even like army building too... It'd be great if he actually had an RT too but somehow I don't expect that since Hasbro hasn't said a $15 pricepoint's on the way for this year... Bummer considering the popularity of that price in 2005.
Anyway, this is just more cloney goodness I guess... I'd start a "anyone else cloned out" thread, but obviously that's already going on. :) Is this adding to it?

This scares me. While I can see some of the versions that Jesse is talking about, this could lead to a general abuse of clone repaints. :-\

I'd like some akin to the upcoming Engineer Clone in Wave 9, a repaint of the Evolutions 327th Star Corps with removable helmet.
I wanted some for the scene where Obi Wan is standing around his JediStarfighter talking to a bunch of helmetless 212ths while looking at a map of Utapau.

What??! How did this rumor start, really? Was this another AP(GH, EE) leak or are we just generating rumor mill discussion to see if Hasbro responds? Another site posts lots of 'rumors' and they don't always come true. If this were true rumblings...then it wouldn't be a rumor, right?

To me the idea of rainbow EU clones sucks ass...but that's just me I guess. I'm OK with the concept art ones but teh Mace pack was pushing it...I'll pass for now (pack-ins, set selection etc may change that fact)

It depends on how he turns out for me. I absolutely think there's a compliment of AT RT Drivers in every battalion, so it makes sense that they would have the designated colors. To me, this kind of thing makes more sense than simply making up non film troopers wholesale, like some of the Final 22.

everything is rumor until announced by Big H...and the source of said rumor probably doesn't want us to know that it came from said source at this time
When we broke the Episode III Packaging stuff a few years ago we had the pics for like 2 months before our source would let us post them...happens all the time

Whether or not this rumor is true, I think a Battle Pack of repacked figures for $20.00 would interest me a lot more than new repaints.
Perhaps something like this -
- Orange Clone x 2
- Battle Droid x 2 (POTJ Security Droid sculpt, ROTS paint scheme)
- Destroyer Droid x 1 (EPI Battle Damage)
That way we get army builders for roughly $5.00 a pop instead of $7.00.

Like Scotty said, until it is officially confirmed by Hasbro, you have to call it a rumor.
Over the years many things have been cancelled by Hasbro despite us seeing early pictures of them. This case is no different. While our sources have seen things that lead me to post that info on the front page, there is always the chance that Hasbro will cancel things before they are released.

Um, no, it's me too. That is, unless he's packed with a leprechaun and a pot of gold to complete the cut "Raid on the Leprechaun's Pot of Gold" scene.
Alternatively they could dub it the "Raid on San Francisco" legion.

I thought my dremel might get a rest. Just goes to show you, if you want something done right, you'll have to do it yourself. Removable helmet Utapau grunts are no exception.

All I can say is..wow! They got all that out of my Q if this was a rumor or not..that I've been here Soooo long (not even 2 years) and that I don't trust the site?

I'm skeptical about anything called a rumor. Regardless of site. End of story.
Great, your 'rumor'(that had to be called just that) became true! Awesome! Thank you JD for showing me that. Since I've never been led astray as far as JD's news is concerned I will continue to trust that. However, I will continue to treat all rumors as just what they are.
Hate me if you must for being skeptical about 'rumors', it will change nothing of my attitude towards them.
That said, I'm sorry for having caused such a 'deal' about this issue or if I offended other folks by my beliefs and what I think of rumors. I'm sorry if folks don't agree with my views on that matter-I cannot change them. Actually, I was relieved when Rune posted those picks. I'm sorry if folks believe they think it's personal and I'm against JD because of this issue and want to question my trust towards JD. I assure you my trust issue is only affected by the topic at hand (rumors) and not towards the site. I have been burned by RS for 'news' that did turn out to be rumor. Personally, I don't feel it's a 20:1 here but if folks want to claim it as such than I'm unaffected toward it. That is all.

Shall I explain? What I was getting at here is that the pic itself could have been somebody's fake unbeknownst to the person who posted it. Unless Rune is part of the staff here I can't see how this looks like I'm calling out the staff. Your Q here suggests that is how I portrayed it.
Three things are at play here
1. I don't trust rumors
2. I was merely suggesting the unlikely event of the non-staff posted photo(your pics on the front page came after Rune already posted these pics first and I commented on them then).
3. I have not been on this site as long as you nor do I consider it(my time here) a long time either.
As a result...I don't see where staff is 'called out' for faking anything.

Good point. As a staff member, I should show more control in my posts. I understand where you are coming from, I just take it too personally when it appears someone is questioning the hard work done by others.

i think hasbro's desperate in getting rid of a ton of clone sculpts...thats the only justification for that.

There seems to be some kind of assumption that this product, whatever it is, is going to involve Clone Troopers. That may be the case. But what about Obi-Wan, Grievous, the Seperatist leadership, the Droid Army, the Magna Guards, the Utapauans, the Utai...there are a number of possibilities here.

I was just thinking the photo on the front page looked decent... New deco, a change-up from the regular Utie clones... Not out of the realm of believability that they have an AT-RT group in their batallion too... I like the figure, but I agree about the Jedi that it's really painful to re-buy any of those.
One of any of the 3 pictured is more than enough of those Jedi... And these definitely aren't good for army building and that sucks in its own way too.

Really this is a decent figure. Although it has no resource besides Hasbro & people aren't complaining. (People complained about the wave 8/9 cloens who actually had resources?? ?? ???)

If memory serves, I think it was quantity over quality. Six army building clones is a lot to digest in two back to back waves.
