Looks great, but kind of meh to me. Would rather Rex at this point.

Love the Gree but may pass if that's the price point.

Have we heard if that is the new price point across the board, or is that just the TRU exclusive overhead tax added in?  They haven't done this with their recent 6" exclusives.

I may eventually bite, but really don't have much interest in getting all different flavors of Clone Troopers, especially at $25 a pop.

Gamestop went with the $22.99 price point for R5-D4.  I'm not really happy about the higher price points for exclusives.  But I think that TRU may need the additional margins.  Especially since they're currently swimming in the Hovertank Troopers.

Transformers are having a price increase when the new movie stuff hits ($20 for Deluxes, $30 for Voyager) so it wouldn't surprise me if these went up too.

The survey should have been an indication that this was something Hasbro was working towards.  The questions led pretty much any survey participant to see that a price increase was in the cards.

I agree.  And reading comments on other sites about people would spend whatever just to get Star Wars toys.  Crazy

TRU has charged $19.99 for their last few exclusive 6 inch figures, or at least my local store has.

It's probably like the LEGO stuff  they sell - overpriced so they don't lose on the endless BOGO deals they offer.  :P

Commander Gree! Buy One, Get one 40% off!!

Gree before Rex seems odd to me too but whateves. I'm not all that big on the Clones anyway.

He should come with a removable head feature.  :D

6" Commander Gree in July ($24.99)

Something someone asked me this morning - is Gree going to be the TRU SDCC shared figure (like last year's Astromech 3-pack)?

Or does TRU still have something else planned for a SDCC debut exclusive this year?

Yes, not sure if there's another.

At the Hasbro panel today, Hasbro said the higher price on Gree is due to all the extra paint aps - over three times as many as the usual figure because of his deco.

Regular issue figure would have been too toned down, so they went the exclusive route.

Details released today for this figure.

It will be available at SDCC (Entertainment Earth Booth #2343), then online starting July 20 through July 23, then hit retail in the fall.

I stayed up late to order this thing right at midnight from TRU.com, but it never went up, so I got up early today and STILL not up.

Gonna be a long day of HTS style F5ing...

I just have to ask....

WHY?!?!?

It's nice to get this stuff when it's new on the market.  But you have to know that in a couple of months TRU pegs are going to be lousy with Gree.  TRU overestimated demand for the Hovertank Trooper, the First Order Snowtrooper Commander, and it's probably going to happen with Gree as well.

Good to see it's $24.99 after it reportedly rang up as $39.99 Canadian.

That being said, I'll wait until the inevitable overflowing of the pegs along with the BOGO discounts TRU has run lately

Only Because I had a couple of other items I was planning to order off TRU.com and needed Gree to put me over a certain threshold. The stuff I had was not going to last long so I was hoping to include him ASAP. The timing is just more advantageous for me this way, purely a financial consideration.

I also think he will sell out quickly online, at least initially, before the eventual deluge.

Anyway, I got one with no troubles, so no biggie. I should be so lucky on 8/14!

Got my shipping notice for this yesterday. Interestingly, it looks like GREE is bring shipped from OH and all the other stuff I included in that same order is shipping from CA. Should be here Friday, fingers crossed.

That's cool.  From what I heard Gree sold out online pretty fast.  And if you can get him with free shipping?  So much the better.

Gree showed up today and man, what a cool figure! Easily my favorite Clone they have done so far. The paint apps are impressive to say the least.

Only gripe is he doesn't seem to want to hold the binoculars, and there's no ready place to affix them otherwise. Not that I have figured out yet anyway.

Got a notification that Gree was in stock online just now, and as soon as I clicked the link, out of stock.

I have a feeling this is going to be a lot more like the Astromech 3-pack than the Snowtrooper Captain or Hovertank Driver in terms of scarcity. That was an SDCC exclusive too as I recall. And it only made a very brief appearance in stores around here.

Mileage varies then.  The Astromech set sat around here

A number of TRU exclusives have never hit here. Mainly Marvel stuff (still waiting for that Spidey/Mary Jane set), but my store never got the Astromech set or the Black Series 3.75 inch Jabba set from a few years back.

I picked up Gree today, and it was at the store that was mentioned in a JTA article of all places!  I'm not sure if these are just starting to turn up or what.  I checked two other stores on my way from work and neither of the other stores had Gree.  But this store is 2 miles from TRU's corporate headquarters... you would think they wouldn't let anything leak at that store.
