Revenge of the Sith / Re: #28 Anakin Skywalker Retouched
« on: July 29, 2005, 01:23 PM »
Found mine yesterday at Wally, so I bought two (my son wanted one), then returned my racoon eyes since my son has an opened one of that. I got another Shock Clone Trooper so I think that was a fair trade. Need to find 2 more AT RT's now and I'll be done until something new hits!

I wasn't go to purchase, but I think I am now. I am disappointed about the Clone Pilot, I would have preferred another blue clone. Its ok, I haven't bought one yet so I guess I'll get one when I find these.

Walmart has been my bread and butter, then Target serves as a back up, followed by TRU which is missing out on business because they have far too many peg warmers.

At one of my local Wally's today I found a ton of Zett Jakassa, Capt. Antilles, plenty of Utapaun Warriors, and a few Tarkin's (seem Tarkin was short packed in those cases but I did not see the case as I found the stuff on the pegs). Found plenty of 46 and 47, Ask Aak and Meena Tills. Tons, I mean, I stopped counting at like 25 of the AT-TE's.I also found a blue guard (left it) and 1 red guard that I picked up.
I walked away with
Clone Shock Trooper (hid from the other day)
Green Clone Commander (hid from the other day for my son)
Tarkin
Red Guard
and
Red Eye Anakin #28!
Now I can return my other #28 and get a new figure (I hate the eye shadow and that is why he was never opened as I wasn't sure if I would keep that figure).

Also, saw and passed on a Jedi vs Sith Battlepack. Anakin looks way too girlish in the face, its horrible. The Obi Wan looks horrible also, and Grevious I have one of the deluxe (best version I think) and one of the single card. That's enough. Only figure I liked was Asjaa. Only compliant on her is that her tatoo's on the side of her head are missing. So $20 for 1 figure is not worth it.

Overall, a good day. Now I need to find the Clone Evolutions 3 pack. Still undecided on the Sith one.

Good hunting.

Man, that brings back memories of playing a version of The Hobbit on an old Apple and on a IBM XT! Dual floppies! You also reminded me of my first computer class in 1981 in high school on writing programs in basic!

Some of those old games are the best. Wish I could find the Hobbit game I am thinking of, and it is not the Gamecube one of a year or two ago!

Kinda of brings up an interesting view. I graduated from high school in 1983 and if you think about it, I have lived to see the computer really impact our soiety, as well as gaming systems. Can you imagine where we will be in 25 or 75 years in gaming and in computers?

Toy Reviews / Re: New JD Review: Agen Kolar (Jedi Master)
« on: July 27, 2005, 11:53 PM »
Jesse I also enjoyed your review. I love this figure I had to fork over the $ for another (and give the first to my son) because the lightsaber peg that fits into the hilt broke as my son took it out. This required some super glue which fixed it, but the saber stays in because we don't want to chance it breaking agan.
I have Agen standing next to my Eeth Koth from the Saga wave. Eeth is alittle smaller then Agen, Agen seems to be a giant amoung the Jedi. Guess Looked on the databank and the list Eeth as 1.71 meters which is compact so Agen could be much taller.
Bottom line, awesome figure! Now if only they could do a new Mace justice!

Just got Zett and the Utaupan Warrior. Not sure on the warrior. Both figures as mention lack articulation and remind me of the Ep. I era of toys. I may sell my Utaupan figure to a friend who wants one really bad.

Hopefully I will find this new version a I like it better, huge improvement. What I may do is buy the new one, and since I haven't opened the old one, return it. That's bad isn't it?!

Great find Jared! Is the pack in figure the same as the Obi-Wan Pilot figure out now? Does it have a soft goods cape and head gear?

I haven't been paying attenting to the upcoming figures - I thought the carded pilot Obi had a cloth cape, not a plastic one.

You can always do what I did DP. I put an Ep. I Jedi Clock on Obi from the accessory packs that came out with Ep. I.

Clone Wars '03-'05 / Re: RED ARC Trooper?
« on: July 24, 2005, 10:40 PM »
I was lucky also on both the Red and Blue, and have 3 of each loose now. My son has 2 of each loosed so I guess we were spoiled here in Utah. I can remember walking in and seeing about 30 Blue's, and then a week or two later, seeing about 30 Red's. Everyone here got one that wanted one, and more got at least 3 because of the debate at the time of how many Jango had trained (3 blue's I always said).

Clone Wars '03-'05 / Re: Distribution of Clone Wars Wave 3
« on: July 24, 2005, 10:32 PM »
I found wave 1 at Wally, wave 2 at Wally and Target, and wave 3 I found at both Wally and Target.

In my move I cannot find my Kit Fisto from this wave! Neither have I found my boxed Royal Starship from Ep. I! Man, I hate moving (there here, I just have to find the right box!).

The Clone is one of my favorite collecting run stories. I was on my way to work, and a friend called saying that a local Wally had like 50 of the SA on the pegs. I went, and got my 2, and then called another friend who is a collector. He was an army builder so he wanted all the rest, but I said that all I could do was put 10 on layaway (which I did) in his and mine name. For awhile though he wanted me to put them all in a shopping cart until he could get there. I did that for about 10 minutes, and then said this is STUPID, and called him on his cell, saying I am not walking around with 40 Clones in a shopping cart. I put them back on the pegs and took my 2 up front to pay for them.
The army builder friend arrived, and I found out later he bought 30 of them, including the 10 on layaway, and left like 20 on the pegs. By the afternoon they were gone.
The funniest image was a 38 year old walking around Walmart with 40 clones in a shopping basket. An employee I knew asked me if the reason there were so many was because they were breeding. Nope, I said, cloning. It was also on that day though that I learned never to put more then 2 of any figure on layaway for anybody. If they want more, they can get there and be greedy.
