I recognize that larger sites need to generate income to help keep them running, but I swear to God, every time I go to RS they've found another way to add a pop-up, pop-under or flashing banner to waste my time in navigating to what I'm looking for.

Now, they have a pop-under ad linked to the Forum link on their top menu.  Even TVGuide.com and CNN don't do that anymore and they had pop-unders for years.

Don't know if it matters.  I'm sure that the at least one or two of the Joe sites will be posting the info as soon as they have it, trying to be the first to break the news.  So, if you follow them on Twitter or read their news pages, you'll probably see it before it hits here.

I don't really think it's that big of a deal.  I say post it here.

LEGO / Re: LEGO
« on: November 25, 2012, 07:13 PM »
Should have posted this sooner but Walmart had a 650 piece set of Lego on Black Friday for $15 or about $0.02 per piece.  There was a set of Lego and a set of Duplo in tall, hexagon shaped boxes in the aisle next to the Avengers and SW 8-packs when I found them.  Your stores might still have them and since there was no starting price listed, they'll probably still ring up for that much if you find them.

Saw a few of these today. Not sure if the store started out with as many of these as they did the Star Wars sets but if they did, they were selling a lot better.  Think I saw most of the figures in the set above but maybe not the exact mix.

I did notice that they had the Warriors Three, two were in the same 8-pack, but didn't see a Sif. Anyone find her in one of these sets?

I ended up coming home with a Movie Heroes set that had all of the Wave 2 figs, which I didn't have.

The thing about silencers is that you have to  combine them with heavier, slower moving ammunition to get a really quiet firearm.  All movies and TV shows overdue it on how quiet they make their stuff sound.  The two things that make the most noise are the expanding gases as the bullet exits the barrel and the sonic boom from the bullet.  Steel wool in a can will capture those gases and help eliminate some of that sound but if there's still going to be some noise.

I'm with Jesse on the weapons for the hunt. Ideally they'd have shotguns with slugs loaded.  In woods you want something with range but also that fires a large, heavy bullet that can cut through brush better.  Maybe a rifle from the AK family or a good .308 would be okay but without really pouring over the show, I got the impression a lot of what they had were 9mm or .223 military rifles with some hunting rifles.  But bolt action hunting rifles wouldn't necessarily be the best choice either, for woods like those.

If I was hunting someone in the woods I'd want shotguns and some decent revolvers (.357, .44) or a nice .45 auto.  I'd take a good 9mm for backup but I wouldn't make that my first choice necessarily.

I think we got an answer to the silencer in the second or third show this season.  There was a scene after they were in the prison where Carl had a can of some type and was stuffing it with steel wool.  Which is a way to make a cheap silencer that's good for a limited number of shots.  Probably enough to be effective clearing a half dozen walkers out of the yard or a hallway before it would need to be replaced.

They didn't really highlight it, probably because they didn't want kids running around making silencers, but I'm sure someone put that in there for people to pick up on.

Here's a good deal at Target; they have Marvel toys BOGOHO on Avengers, MU and Spider-Man (I'm forgetting if Legends are included).  With the 8-pack of Avengers on Sale for $44 and change, you could pick that up along with a Quinjet ($15 w/ this sale) for about $60 which is probably $50 off what you'd pay buying all the figures & the ship individually.

And, if you have the $5 toy coupon that came on the Target toy ads a couple of weeks ago, you can save that and, if you also have a Target card, 5% off that.  Not bad.  I'm actually thinking about it right now.  Sale is 4 days only.

My buddy Joe texted me today that he found this wave with the Spidey variant at a Walmart in NE Pennsylvania.

I didn't stop in Target last night (heading there tonight) but figured there would be some little resets for the upcoming holiday so maybe some of that Joe stuff will be back here too.  I know when they pulled it from the main aisle there were still basic figures, BP and Alpha wave stuff still in stock.  The only thing to come back out were basic figures which got stocked on an end cap w/ SW and Marvel for a couple of weeks.

Yeah, thanks for the info.  Since I don't collect TF full time, it's really hard to keep track of everything.  I don't think there's a toy collecting hobby that's more dense, convoluted and hard to follow than Transformers.  With Takara stuff, Hasbro stuff, movie lines, shifting non-movie lines, animated lines, scales, overseas exclusives, store exclusives...  I'd drive myself ******* nuts trying to follow that.  As it is, I just buy what I like but sometimes it’s hard to figure out what’s coming where and when and if I should buy now or wait, like with the MP Soundwave.

Star Wars and GI Joe are pretty straightforward in comparison, much easier to follow from a collecting standpoint.

Are you talking about the same MP Soundwave that stores like BBTS have pre-orders for at $200?  I thought that was going to be online only?

I bought the last MP Thundercracker from the same TRU a month or so ago and they had more when I was there this weekend.  Optimus will probably be back if you really want it.  I plan on stopping at a different TRU next Wed on the way home for Thanksgiving.  See if I can resist or not, if I find it.

Can I just say that Michonne is a complete badass.  I'd watch a show just about her.

I also don't understand why Michonne didn't give Andrea any info on what she found...but then we've seen these people make a lot of stupid decisions about things.  There seems to be a pattern.  Even the military guys letting a bunch of red necks get the jump on them was stupid.  You're in the Zombie Apocalypse and you don't set a perimeter guard while waiting for your airborne recon to come back?

You're watching a show about zombies and you're picking apart telephones and whether or not one could eat a whole body?  The entire show is based off physical near impossibilities...
