I keep looking at the stacks of these at TRU and keep hoping they put them on sale again. I want one, but not for $250. $150 and it's mine.
Same boat... I don't have a spot for one, but I've wanted one for years. They're $274.99 at the TRU near me... that's obscene.
According to Yakface, this is coming back to Target and Galaxy's Edge... my last post didn't age well, and at this point I'd pay $400 for one if it'll display as an OT Falcon.
-
I still can't believe you never got this one, Rob.
Back in 2008 when these came out along with the AT-TE....I had to go Falcon over the AT-TE....but still hope the latter will get re-released.
-
Yeah, I scoffed at $150 originally... then I scoffed at $250 and $275...
I've got a little more budget for this kind of stuff these days, so that helps... but I've been hoping they'd re-release it eventually so I didn't have to spend $500 or $600 for one on eBay That said, if they only include the Sequel Trilogy dish, I'll be looking for an older one anyway. Maybe this re-release would drive prices down a little if I have to go that route.
-
I've wrestled with selling my 2008 Falcon since I've sold off a small bit of 4 inch figures, with plans to sell all of it eventually. It's an amazing piece. Should be interesting to see if they include swappable dishes, which I think would be a no-brainer. That way people who missed out like Rob can get one, and a Sequel-only Falcon probably wouldn't sell well at all due to how negatively received the Sequels and the sequel merchandise are.
-
I think it's great that this is getting a re-release. Perhaps the original dish should be packed in as well.
-
Well that didn't take long. (https://www.target.com/p/star-wars-the-vintage-collection-galaxy-8217-s-edge-millennium-falcon-smuggler-8217-s-run/-/A-79416673?fbclid=IwAR1oZLGAxRPICTjhIQrVrk7V_Ua5n-UwMFa02jzSARawXBgSSzLCI8N1bIQ)

I didn’t even wake up early enough to know it had been announced before it had sold out.
I hope that’s just wave one for preorders.
-
400 bucks and sold out in minutes. Wow!

400 bucks and sold out in minutes. Wow!
Tough to say if that means anything without knowing how many preorders they took. A lot of places do small numbers in an early pre-order to get people excited about a thing, then come back with more later.

For sure, but at $400 in it's 3rd release I find it impressive whatever metrics you use.
-
Yeah no announcements on any of this stuff and the preorders are gone, likely to bots/scalpers. Really frustrating for real collectors.
That said, I have zero doubt that this will sit at stores for months after the initial shipment. The price guarantees that no casuals will pick it up, so I think anyone who wants one will get a shot. At least I hope so. The last year's worth of Target exclusives never even showed up at any of my local stores.
-
I hear you on that... It’s frustrating that it came out under the radar, so to speak, and sold out in minutes. That said, I’m not sure how excited I was about it in the first place. While it’s definitely cool Hasbro has updated the toy for the Disney ride and Sequel Trilogy era, it’s not something really exciting me... I’ve still got the original BMF from 2008 (which I paid around $60 for on clearance at Walmart) and it’s still in perfect working order. No real need on my part to seek out a new one for $400 that’s not significantly different. Still, if I come across one in a Target store eventually, I may reconsider ;)
-
Does anyone have any good Intel on whether these will be a focal display at multiple Targets or just the "Disney" Targets? That'll matter a lot on availability I imagine.
-
Target seems to have done this for the last several exclusives with very limited pre-orders, followed later by variable in-store availability, and usually not available online later.
Living in Minneapolis - the land of Target - its usually pretty easy to track these down in store (not counting retro figures). If people are looking for Target exclusives and can't find them in their backyard, just post and I'm sure the crew from Minneapolis can help.
-
Nice! I can't wait to see the countless posts at Rebelscum asking if the price has gone down. That crowd only collects Star Wars on clearance.
-
So is $400 too much now or too little?🤔
-
This is Galaxy's Edge themed? Ugh, now I want one.
Hopefully Hondo isn't exclusive and sees widespread release.
-
Hondo will be single packed as per Yakface’s reporting.
-
Cool. Everyone should have a shot at getting our favorite space pirate... and I'm not talking about Captain Shakespeare of the Caspartine. (Though I would buy a 3-3/4" figure of him in a heartbeat.)
-
I think this is a great offering, though that price...ouch. If I didn't have the BMF, I'd probably pony up for it. But having a loose and a packaged one already - I just can't dip into a third one of these. Or really like a 10th if you count all the Falcons. ::)
-
I am hoping this will mean that Hasbro may be able to provide replacement parts. I have two of these loose and both need the projectiles in the top gun, and the compartment covers inside. One of them needs two landing gear.
ETA: Wasn't someone here looking to buy a Legacy one?
-
Even though I have the TLC version, I'm kind of tempted by this one. I would definitely like to see some more photos, and if they've updated the deco in any significant ways (aside from the dish).
-
Great call to have both dishes, but I serially can't pick this up to open. One BMF is enough. :P

What's a Disney Target?

What's a Disney Target?
Go to the Maple Grove store. Its a store within a store concept with a big exclusive Disney area.
The concept started last fall and to date there have been no Star Wars toy exclusives to this format. It didn't sound like these Target exclusives were going to be limited to the Disney Targets either.
-
Jayson posted that Target's taking more pre-orders tomorrow morning if anyone feels like trying. I didn't even know last round, so hopefully I can get an order in.
-
No idea how long they’ll last but they’re available now. I just got one, $403 total after red card discount and free shipping, so about $50 less than I expected.
-
I’m having fun refreshing the pages for Captain Cardinal and DJ R3-x waiting for them to pop back up for preorder because only a maniac would make one thing available again and not the other two... ::)
-
Managed the Falcon this AM but, apparently there were plenty.
-
Yeah, I looked at 9:35 and it was still available.
-
I think I saw that it's become an on-line exclusive.
-
These must be sold out, because any Target exclusive is listed as "unable to ship to your zip code"
-
Snooze. Lose. That's what happened to me. Well, I actually woke up in time but just completely forgot about the pre-order.
Oh, well. Hope there are more. I can't be the only one still looking to get one.
-
Just got a shipping notice for the Falcon. Where am I going to put this thing...
-
Haven't got my shipping notice yet. I ordered late. Sure they're filling in orders in the order received.
-
Must be. My tracking says it'll be delivered on 9/2.
It's going to sit in the box until we buy a place next year...
-
Sept 2 is my expected delivery date too. Which happens to be my wife's birthday go figure
-
Oh, dang. The disappointment and scorn after she brings it in then realizes it's a toy spaceship for you.
On the positive side, it's back in stock online.
-
Surprised not to see this at Target this morning with all the other new goodies.

I think it has been confirmed that the Smuggler's Run Millennium Falcon is an online item only for Target.
Obviously that might changer closer to the holiday shopping season, but for now, I don't even think there is a shelf space for it in any of the displays that Target has put up this weekend.
-
Mine is theoretically arriving today. :)
-
Just got mine.. I cracked it open to take out the Chewie, Hondo, and Porgs... Then it's back into the box for now.
-
Watched a few comparison videos of the new one with the 08 Legacy one. The paint job alone is enough to make me want the new one, but I am quite happy with my 08... even though it's stored in a closet in my parents' house. :P
Doesn't seem like there is much of a reason to upgrade unless you just REALLY have to have the Sequel Trilogy dish or the Hondo figure.
-
Got my first one today, and of course it’s totally jacked. If I saw video tape of this box being rolled down multiple flights of stairs and then landing in a puddle of water, I would believe it. (The bottom of the box and one side were wet like this box had been left out in the rain)
I have a second one coming next week, if it also arrives equally messed up, one is definitely going back to Target. I knew this was going to be a problem as soon as this was announced. >:(

This is back in stock (https://t.co/jrR6Gk27ZB) this morning. If you pair it up with the Target Circle coupon for 25% off a toy, you can save $100!
I passed on this originally but picked one up for $305 this morning with red card and Target Circle discounts. :)
