2023 TVC TM Speeder Bike w/Scout & Grogu
« on: October 20, 2022, 09:12 AM »
According to the latest info from Jayson/Yakface, the new Speeder Bike might not be the only small vehicle coming next year...

"Now that the small vehicle “expression” is returning the the Vintage Collection, it looks like we can expect more releases of that type and price point in 2023. Today we’ve added “Charlie” to the list of code names, and like the ROTJ Speeder Bike “Caitlin”, it too is priced at $44.99."

Guesses?  Is this just another Speeder Bike with Luke/Leia/Paploo/Mando/IG-11&Grogu/Cassian/etc?

Dare I hope for a Blurrg?

I could even see a repaint of the speederbike from the season finale of the Mandalorian as well.

I think Cobb Vanth and his speeder bike.

That would be nice, but the pessimist in me assumes they will save TVC Cobb Vanth for one of those $21 Target carded figures (like Morak Fett).  :-\

In a rational world I'd say its a Blurrg, but if a speeder bike and figure are $45 I can't imagine what they view as a similar size and price point these days.  I would think they would charge $75 for a new beast.

Probably a tweaked Boba Fett with reissued Massiff, a nose lizard, and a bunch of drinking gourd accessories.

That would be nice.  I know a lot of people have been clamoring for a Blurrg and I would think that $45 might be a good price point for it (and they can throw in Kuiil again with some small, new accessory)

I'd really like the lava skiff from the end of Season 1.  Not sure if they could make that in this price range.  We got the droid from the Droid Factory set, but they could potentially reissue that (even though that was Disney) although I'm afraid this might be too much toy for $45.

I don’t recall moving parts on the lava boat. Fewer parts, fewer tooling.  I think it, the droid, and a smattering of crates, is very doable at this price point.

I’m hoping that this might be the Mandalorian’s Tatooine speeder bike with Mando and Grogu. And if they want to charge $45?  Include Boba Fett’s armor as a world building accessory.

I’m really hoping it’s a blurrg too. We haven’t had a beast in the TVC line since the 2010 Tauntaun. (Not counting Jabba with the Khetanna).

I also wouldn’t mind seeing a Tantive IV Escape Pod, though it feel like that might be a bit on the large side.

Another idea came to mind for me in the *HOPES* that Hasbro is truly interested in world building.  And it relates to a TVC figure pipeline reveal.  Could this be Boba Fett as seen in the Train Heist sequence in THE BOOK OF BOBA FETT?

Hasbro made a point of revealing the Tusken Warrior as a pipeline reveal at Hasbro Pulse Con.  But there were no other TVC TBOBF reveals.  Krrsantan has been dug up as a Deluxe figure offering, but has not yet been officially confirmed.  Could Boba Fett with the speeder bike be the companion piece to the Tusken Warrior?  Because she plays an integral part in the train heist.  I can also see the potential for Hasbro to re-paint the VC199 Tusken Raider and offer it in the color scheme of the Tuskens of the Dune Sea.

Would it be wrong that I’m secretly hoping that Hasbro brings back the mini-rigs?

I loved those as a kid.

Totally agree.  They don't need to make something that was on screen if they can come up with something fun with play value, but when is the last time they made anything (other than an EU / Gaming Greats figure) that hasn't been on screen?

Don't forget the Speeder Bike now costs $45. Are you willing to pay $60 for a new CAP-2?

I hope it's something else new.  Taking the speeder bike again and Fett again would be a real bummer, whether it makes sense for that scene or not.
